Ordered to go from Everly and got the So-Cal Grain Bowl. I thought the bowl was great except that the dressing/citrus flavor was too strong at times, and the chicken was dry/unseasoned. I usually prefer my dressings on the side though so it might be a me problem! The dressing helped with the chicken taste though! I really enjoyed the bowl though and would get again! read more

New Year's Eve a friend and I dined here and I'm so happy that we did. The menu changed since I last visited and I was kind of upset but I ordered something new. I ordered the Seafood Casarecce which has seared scallops, shrimp, grilled savoy + radicchio, garlic cream sauce and parmesan. To drink I ordered Hola from the other side which is Milagro silver, blood orange, hibiscus, agave, lime. This dish was AMAZING and I have not stopped dreaming about the cream sauce and the scallops. Everything tasted fresh and cooked to perfection. I will order again soon! read more

Beautiful, industrial ambiance with delicious brunch food and decent service. Everly's chicken and waffle was delicious. The waffle was sweet and substantially heartier than a standard waffle. It paired well with the boneless fried chicken cutlet on top. Would highly recommend it. The veggie scramble was flavorful - not always my experience with veggie scrambles. The fingerlings were perfectly seasoned, crispy and waxy. It was a large plate. We did not get drinks but they sounded tasty. They also had an outdoor patio with heat lamps. Service: 5/5 Food: 4.5/5 Price: 4/5 atmosphere: 4/5 (looks great, but too loud to have a decent conversation ) Truffle fries were amazing! We also ordered the nachos as an appetizer, and they were a bit too spicy for most of the group (were weak), although the flavors were good. I ordered the grain bowl with chicken and it was amazing! Next time, I'd love to try their coffee drinks and dessert. read more

Always delicious, but hard to get in for brunch. I highly recommend a reservation. They have a very eclectic menu that has something for everyone. They specialize in gluten free and vegan options, but have a little bit of everything. The quality of the food and ingredients is always exceptional. Service was prompt and food was fast. The restaurant is modern, yet cozy, with a good mix of tables, booths, and high tops. There were several large groups there the last time I went, but they were able to get us in. read more

The service at Everly has been bad for a while with very poor server engagement and long wait times for food; however, what kept me going back was their grilled cabbage salad, one of my favorites in Madison. But last night I found that they had changed it and it was a complete downgrade. Gone was the grilled cabbage with edamame, apples, peanuts, and other crunchy goodies and instead it was replaced with some very boring and un-grilled cabbage, a few edamame and a couple slivers of carrot and radish. The portion size was also decreased while the price was unchanged. Now the salad is just a generic, and rather poor, reflection of what it once was. Added to that, the service was again bad. After being seated, it was about 10 minutes before the server introduced himself, he forgot to take the menus after taking our order, it was about an hour before we got our food, and many times we were completely out of water. That was my last time to Everly, which is sad as it once was my favorite place in town. read more

Joe went above and beyond today at Everly--after the restaurant was full and we decided it was too cold to sit outside, we were climbing into our car to go somewhere else when he ran outside to let us know a table had opened up. SO kind and accommodating! Our server then related to a member of our party who has celiac and was SO helpful and relatable while helping us decide on our food. 10/10 service and delicious food! Love that the fryers are exclusively gluten-free read more

Everly is usually one of my favorite dinner spots in Madison, but they really missed the mark with their service on my most recent visit. My husband and I had a dinner reservation, and were seated immediately by the hostess. However, we were then ignored for over 20 minutes - it seems that no server was assigned to us. Finally, after almost half an hour, my husband approached the hostess stand and asked about our server (or lack thereof). The hostess was very apologetic, and our server came to our table shortly afterwards to take our orders. Unfortunately, she got one of our orders wrong. This wouldn't have been a huge issue, except for when she brought our food out, she dropped it on our table and left so quickly that we didn't get a chance to tell her that it was incorrect. We had to wait about 10-15 more minutes until she came back around to notify her of the mistake. She was kind and apologized, and said that we could keep the incorrect appetizer "on the house". However, it still showed up on our bill at the end of the night. We had to flag her down again and ask to get our bill corrected, which we eventually did. The food was as good as ever, which is the reason for the 3 stars. But the below-average service definitely put a damper on our date night. We still love the food, so I'm sure we'll be back in the future. Hopefully it'll be better next time! read more

I have eaten at Everly probably twenty times. It has been a go-to restaurant before shows downtown, for brunch with friends, and when we have people with various dietary needs. I appreciate the diverse menu, and I love the ambiance. The food is always just fine. It's never been bad, but it's also never amazing. I often will have the seasonal egg scrabble or the curry, both of which are...fine. My daughter is a fan of the burger. I felt compelled to write this review after dinner with a friend last night. Perhaps our server (who did give a good food suggestion) was tired from New Year's Eve the night before, but the service was not good. My friend ordered a soda which was never brought to her. When the food arrived (no one checked in before the food came) she asked a second time for the drink and also for some ketchup. The drink came eventually but no ketchup. Ten minutes later we asked for the ketchup again, and I also asked for a refill of water. Again, the ketchup came, but no water. I ended up drinking my friend's water because my curry was spicy. After we had finished eating, I asked again for water, and we asked for the bill. We then sat there for 10-15 minutes with no contact. We had our credit card out on the table waiting, and finally when the server came back, I asked for water a third time. The server took our card and then we waited another 5-7 minutes to sign the bill. Other than our food, there was nothing we didn't have to ask at least twice for, and there we no apology for the forgotten items - in fact the server never even acknowledged that we had asked for them in the first place. Unfortunately, Everly is becoming the place we go as a last resort, which is too bad, because they do have decent food and a great location. read more

Note: Tuesday evening at almost 6:00pm, need a reservation ahead of time because there's a wait time. Okay got it for next time! Grant was our server and great on service and engaging. All staff we interacted with were also cheerful and helpful. Thanks for making our first time dining awesome! Drinks: Ordered strawberry lemonade, cold brew, and blueberry matcha. All of them were good to great, with me being a little disappointed my blueberry matcha was not blue Appetizer: Thai eggplant and silken tofu was fantastic. Almost wished I had more tofu. Didn't know it was there until I scooped a couple times in the dish. Entrees: Butternut curry was great. I was happy with the tofu portions and crispness on the fry/sear, but the price of the curry plus tofu was almost $20. My kale quinoa bowl was fantastic and they allowed the fried egg to be served on the side so my vegan husband could eat the bowl. Dessert: Lemon parfait was good on the curd, but the puff pastry threw me off. I was hoping for a solid piece of pastry crust, not loose dry flakes. Imagine if it was a tart instead read more

So, my husband and I went here three days in a row. We ate the house burger twice and the chicken sandwich once. We plan to slowly try every item on the menu. The burger & ckn sandwich are moist to perfection, flavor packed, and currently my favorite burgers on the planet! The kale salad is simple with a vinagrette dressing and tiny apple slices that compliment the flavors beautifully. The fries are crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. Hungry yet? This place is a must go spot. Friendly, attentive service. We sat both outside and inside and received amazing service -- they turned on several heaters outside (and we were the only ones out at the time) to ensure our comfort. It's a lively, happy environment that is sure to make your face and tummy smile. read more

Wonderful relaxing atmosphere!! We came here on the suggestion of a friend and so glad we did. Delicious food, laidback atmosphere and the attentive staff made our visit to "Everly" the perfect work week dinner experience and we enjoyed every single minute of it. People were relaxed, visiting, laughing and happily enjoying the food, cocktails and the company they were with. Our cocktails were yummy and the food was fresh and delicious. Inside is lovely but they also have a patio area if you would like to enjoy some fresh air. We are definitely coming back and also telling our friends about this awesome establishment!! read more

Stopped for lunch. Wasn't sure what to order but I wanted to try something new. I asked the very friendly bartender what she recommended. She said the fish tacos where her favorite and said they were a bit on the spicy side. I ordered the tacos and the chicken noodle soup. The soup was absolutely delicious! The tacos on the other hand were too dry. The breading was far too thick and a tad too over fried, and the fish inside bland and dry. They could have used more sauce to help them not be so dry. I wouldn't order them again but everything else I've had there has been great! Just disappointed in the tacos. read more

i came here for brunch in a group of 4 on sunday morning with a reservation! the reservation was easy to make and the vibes inside the restaurant was so lovely & aesthetically pleasing. the service was a bit slow imo and it took a while for even our drinks to come out. for food, we ordered the truffle fries, brunch fried rice and the avocado toast. the potatoes on the avocado toast were LOADED, couldn't even finish them!! i thought the truffle fries were perfectly well done and the aioli sauce to pair was perfect. i did enjoy the brunch fried rice, which made for perfect leftovers the next day. would love to come back to try their dinner menu! read more

I don't know how I would've survived this pandemic without Everly. Due to frequent visits to elderly family members, my fiance and I have been much stricter than most households when it comes to COVID precautions. Everly's allowed us to continue to socialize with friends with their outdoor dining area, even in single digit temperatures in the winter! Their outdoor seating is a sort of barricade to block out wind from most directions, with heaters above each table. It generally provides ample warmth in the wintertime. They've got a nice variety of food and drinks on their menu. My personal favorites include their truffle fries, sandwiches, and their "generous pour", which is a house special cocktail that changes every month with a portion going to a local charity. Their service has always been great too! I feel bad for our servers on days when we eat outside in really cold weather, but they're always so friendly and check in frequently. They've also been accommodating the times that I made a mistake when scheduling a reservation. Overall, I can't say enough good things about Everly! I just wish they changed their menu more often, but that's my own problem with eating there so often haha. read more

Great vegetarian and meat options and wonderful ambiance. Definitely recommend this place t anyone looking for American fare.

We came here for dinner. The decoration is pretty cute here. They had pretty good drinks. For appetizers, we tried the calamari fries. It tasted like fried tofu with no flavors on its own. The sauce did help a bit but the texture was not soft and tender. For entrees, we got chicken tikka masala flatbread and red wine + HERB MARINATED SIRLOIN CAP STEAK. The cut of the steak was a bit hard to cook evenly. I asked for medium rare but due to the cut, some parts were a bit medium well. However, the tamarind sauce was interesting and sweet. I liked it. The potatoes in the steak dish were a bit underwhelmed. They felt a bit mushy. The chicken tikka masala flatbread was full of flavors. They did a great job on that one. Overall, very interesting menu and drinks. read more

Call me crazy, but I'm a big fan of scrambled egg whites with vegetables, toast, maybe some roasted potatoes, and an iced tea. Everly hit it out of the park. Service was great, ambiance was light and enjoyable, and the food hit the spot. The other entrees looked great as well, but this is my go to and they did it very well. Quite possibly the biggest surprise for me in many months in terms of quality and presentation! And I think the best food fight restaurant right now. Blown away. I had the salmon and my husband has the steak frites. I would hands down pick his dish over mine if we went back. It melted in my mouth! My salmon was a close second though - not overcooked like most are, and the flavors were tasty although not quite as memorable as that steak. A flourless chocolate torte was one of the best desserts I've had in awhile. We totally thought it would be loud in there but were pleasantly surprised by how we could carry on a nice conversation without shouting. Great drinks menu topped it all off. We will come back for sure and will be telling others about this place! read more

My last time at Everly had some mishaps, which the manager did correct some so it wasn't so bad. They forgot an appetizer and a wine in the beginning and gave to us after the entrees came out, but the manager comp'ed those. I got the pesto pasta again which I still liked, but didn't have as much flavor as it did the time before. The hot sauce they have available was very mild... The Brussels Sprouts app was pretty good, but your standard combo of crispy Brussels sprouts with Parmesan and balsamic glaze. Even with a comped wine and app, the bill was still pretty high. Overall, I wasn't as impressed this round, but I would still give another shot. read more

Awful! We had to almost tackle our waiter to place an order. Then it was over an hour later before the food was served. Never coming back!

In place of the old Bluphies' Diner, this was my debut visit on a Friday night at 815pm sans any reservation....took a chance doing so but really wanted to try these folks out. It was meant to be as there was one spot left at the bar for first come first serve and I nabbed it. The place itself is pretty dope! Really cool decor and vibe going on inside. Captures a true SoCal feel and I should know as I lived there for 5 years. Besides the ambiance , the menu also reflects a SoCal flare just the same. For a really busy night I got served pretty quick I felt. They churn out dishes like a well oiled machine here that is for sure. My main dish pick was the bourbon half roasted chicken with fingerling potatoes in a light lemon honey sauce. My side dishes were roasted sprouts and charred broccoli. All three picks were hits in my book. Chicken skin was crispy and caramelized, chicken meat was moist, tender and flavorful. The lemon-honey sauce made the soft potatoes and roasted carrots taste like little candy morsels. Broccoli when charred just right takes on a whole new flavor profile I just love and they nailed it. The sprouts were awesome as well but as can happen many times with roasted/glazed sprouts, just a tad too much oil can render the bottom of the dish oily and soggy and too rich/heavy to finish. Minor infraction in the grand scheme of things. Total meal cost with tax: $33.36 read more

As a long time vegetarian, I've eaten dozens of veggie burgers. I can easily say the Everly black bean quinoa burger is the best veggie burger I've ever had. It was packed with flavor and had the structural integrity of a real burger. No one likes when their veggie burger completely falls apart. Everly made sure that didn't happen. Came to town for a quick weekend trip and wanted to try this place out based on the strong Yelp reviews. The parking lot is small, but don't be discouraged as there is street parking in the area. The bread pudding French toast drew me in immediately and I ordered that along with a side of bacon. I love bread pudding and the thought of making French toast out of it sounded like a wonderful idea. Unfortunately, their effort here fell far short of my expectations and I would never order it again. The bread pudding French toast was overly dense, dry, and had a funky, earthy aftertaste. I couldn't quite place the odd aftertaste. It was almost like it was cooked on the same grill as some other food item and the grill was not cleaned. There also was not enough of the syrup. The bacon was wonderful, the right balance of crispness and tenderness. My wife ordered the breakfast burrito and found it to be really good. read more

First time visit for 2 of the 3 of us this past weekend. Everything was delicious! We had excellent recommendations from our servers! The Peruvian chicken skewers were a fantastic way to start our meal. The Baja fish tacos, the chicken Tikka Masala, and the tea braised pork were all delicious! We also really enjoyed our beverages! Loved the hibiscus lemonade and passion fruit & grapefruit cooler mocktails, as well as the classic Bloody Mary and the generous pour special house cocktail. I also think the vibes of a place make or break the experience and these vibes are 12/10!! We stopped in for weekend brunch. I'm glad we had reservations as they were busy. Despite the crowd, the staff were very pleasant and kind. At the recommendtion of the server, I ordered the breakfast burrito. It was a delicious combination of scrambled eggs, creamy avocado, Monterey jack cheese, salsa verde and crispy potatoes. It also had bacon and refried black beans. Though those were harder to find they seemed to add to the delicious flavor. I liked that there were a variety of fingerling potatoes, including purple but there were a few too many for me. The salsa verde was so good I asked for extra on the side. Nice place towards the end of Monroe Street. The thing about Everly (in my experience) is that it's either hit or miss. There are some items that are uh-mazing, such as their amazingly moist and crispy chicken sandwich, and then other items that are just ok. On a similar note: some items are totally worth the price, others feel like a bit of let down. Either way, Everly is a great place to meet up with friends, have a good time, and enjoy EXCELLENT service (but really, I've never had anything shy of great service). Our server was nice and the setting on the covered / shaded patio was wonderful on a warm day. They also have an impressive array of radiant heaters on the patio cover/roof so I imagine it would be fantastic on cool days and evenings as well. Unfortunately I just found my meal pretty bland. I ordered the burger medium rare but it came well done. I was in too good a mood to send it back. There's an aioli on it but I didn't find it very flavorful. And though I appreciate they use a wheat bun it was just too dry; perhaps if the burger was rarer it would have made things juicer. The fries too...hand-cut but somehow quite forgettable. It seems they're using good quality ingredients and I always fear that processed and imitation foods and flavors have ruined me for "real" food. The deck seems stacked against nature. But then I think of other quality restaurant meals I've thoroughly enjoyed and this one just didn't stack up. I'm sure we'll return sometime and I'd like to try one of the many meatless options, as this is an area where culinary creativity can really shine (and I can always use more meatless meals!) read more

Came here for brunch on a Saturday at noon with 4 of my friends. We had made reservations beforehand because we had heard the place gets busy. Walking into the restaurant we were greeted by a lovely hostess who proceeded to seat us outside as it was full inside. We were seated outside which had a lovely atmosphere. The outdoor dining area was decorated and separated from the parking lot/cars. There was an umbrella to shade us form the sun but unfortunately due to the time of day only half the table was shaded. We ordered truffle fries as a starter which were delicious! I love truffle fries and get them almost every place that has them and I will say that these were fantastic. They were crispy, crunchy, and had so much flavor! Half the table ordered chicken & waffles while the other half ordered the sausage scramble. I was able to try both (yay!). The chicken and waffles was my favorite. The waffles were the perfect amount of fluffy and actually had flavor in them instead of generic waffles. The chicken was moist and cooked perfectly while the syrup tied it all together. The scramble was pretty good. I enjoyed the sausage but I wish there was more. My favorite part of the dish were the potatoes. They used all sorts of multicolored potatoes that all had different flavors which I really enjoyed because normal breakfast potatoes can get a bit tiresome. Overall it's a great place for brunch! A cute, brunch spot, a fun atmosphere, quick service, food that I think was overrated. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich. It comes with a side of fries, but to upgrade those fries to have truffle seasoning, costs an additional 4.50 (...just for the seasoning which blew my mind). The chicken sandwich itself was incredibly dry, I took a picture for the second one, and I can't tell if it was over fried, or just not seasoned well, because it was difficult to bite into, and not very flavorful. I tried to add ketchup and the white sauce that they gave me to my sandwich, but ended up not finishing it because I was not enjoying it. The amount of fries were good, one of my brunch mates which is side for the garlic potatoes and that was a good portion size. The mimosas were yummy as well. In total my chicken sandwich and mimosa cost me about $30, which was a bit pricey for the quality. The staff are all very friendly and attentive though. read more
