But the last few years we have discovered some really great wineries. They also have live music there pretty often and a full kitchen with food you can order. After our tasting we bought a bottle to enjoy on the patio with some sliders and music. The sliders were not the greatest, just really lacked flavor. Looking around at people's food we were underwhelmed but it is still worth a trip for the wine.

It was a very warm day so thankful for the numerous umbrellas and covered patio. Directions are not clear when entering the food and drink area. The drink area had a modest line but nowhere to see a menu. They have a large digital screen menu but it is not in view when waiting to place your order. There was only one person working the cash register which was stressful for her. The drinks came out quick!! Food prices are high for what you get so we opted to not order from the menu. My husband went in the wine shop to grab a couple bags of chips and he stood there forever with no one offering assistance. Many staff walked right by him, looked at him and again no assistance. He was gone from the table for 20 minutes to simply buy a bag of chips. They had live music on the patio which was so nice but the volume was so loud, we finally understood why everyone was seated at the back of the patio. Sovereign has a large array of seating and special event areas. Covered cabanas, dining rooms and gorgeous grounds to walk. This place simply needs some operational updates and it would receive a 5 star rating!!

I ended up being the only one who signed up for that afternoon so I got a one on one session with the instructor. We did the class in the vineyard on a beautiful summer day! The instructor played music and was accommodating to my specific needs and answered all my questions! After the class I was so hot from being in the sun I went straight into the winery which had just opened! With the class I got a free glass of wine so I got to choose from several options. I decided to also do a wine flight because the wine was so good and I still needed to cool down. The staff inside also suggested that I try the pizza next door so of course I did! You can order online and then you get a text when it's ready. Once it was ready I took my flight outside to a table and then grabbed my pizza from next door. The pizza was great and so was the wine! I definitely recommend this place for a chill date, or even a gathering with friends.

The wine tasting is $6 and you taste 6 different wines. They start off with two White, then one pink, and then three red wines. There was also a "bonus" wine you get and it's a hot version. I can't say much else, since I don't usually choose to drink wine. The wine on the taste test ranged from $17-$20 a bottle. They also give a free bottle if you buy four of them. On the side you can taste the different types of malt vinegar and olive oils they have. This was by far a far more interesting thing to me. There was a flavor "Blackberry Ginger" that just rocked my socks off. I didn't buy a bottle, but I should have.

I went on a Sunday around 1pm and it was very chill with plenty of seating options under a pergola, picnic tables by the vines, etc. lots of different choices as well as inside by the bar. There are 2 bars on property, 1 inside and 1 by the events center. I'm assuming you can rent the place out for weddings and currently they are under construction in the parking lot. I ordered a caprese salad with chicken. It was just okay. It came in a chipotle "like" bowl and the chicken was minced. The menu said thick slices of heirloom tomatoes but they ended up being cherry tomatoes and the mozzarella was light on the portion. More salad than anything else and was drizzled with balsamic. I don't think it was worth $19 but if I'm paying for convenience, I get it. Just let your customers know that it's cherry tomatoes and not heirloom tomatoes when they are ordering. This is how the menu item reads: Thick slices of heirloom tomatoes, fresh basil, and torn mozzarella on top of greens, dressed with balsamic glaze. I opted for a non alcoholic beverage - root beer which was delightful but next time I'm getting the rose. The staff is friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back to order something different on the food menu.
