I visited several 'facilities', but my last stop was OP, and it was perfect. The staff were friendly, professional, and welcoming, not just to me but to my mom! We were embraced with their warmth, kindness and knowledge. My mother was a nurse, and her assessment of her care was, "They are excellent". In December of 2022, my mother-in- law fell and fractured her wrist. From the hospital, she was sent to rehab. She had trouble doing PT because her toe nails were long and painful. They needed to be clipped. The rehab would not clip her nails. The week before Christmas, on a Friday, she/I was given a 5 day notice of discharge. I immediately called Orchard Pointe-Surprise, and within 3 days, my mother in law was moved in and settled! She was cared for, loved on and treated with respect. The last six days of her life, staff members from administration, to caregivers, to transportation, and maintenance, came to pay their final respects and show me love and support. No place is perfect, but Orchard Pointe- Surprise was perfect for my family members. ~Eileen

They speak hopefully, lovingly and faithfully and it really reflects in the faces and eyes of those who live here. They are committed to loving the residents and you see it! I am not just saying this because I have worked with them for several years doing marketing photography, but because I truly do see a special difference in these communities. Heritage is truly top-notch and a place I've already started comfortably recommending to family friends, because I believe they have something truly special.

Awful. Mom was rapidly declining for over two months and I was never notified as I live out of…read morestate. Just the prior week, I spoke to the recently new owner (In the interim the In Angel Arms owner manages the facility) and she was unaware of my mom's decline. The workers there also told me that she was tired and slept a lot but nothing about a "rapid decline". My mom later had an apparent stroke and passed just two days later. Manager and owner of In Angel Arms never called me when it happened I was later informed that my mom passed away by the hospice nurse. My mom was just put on hospice the day before. I only heard from the manager after that. Very cold and just matter of fact tone. I pray the new owners are much better. I also hope the other In Angel Arms facility is run much better. It was a great place for my mom when under the original owners, at this location , Kissling Manor where my mom was taken care of for almost 12 years battling Alzheimer's.

Cindi, Michael and their warm and caring staff have made our father's transition to an assisted living facility as seamless as possible. . Their home is spacious and immaculate. Our father's room is large and comfortable. It is made up daily and his laundry is done for him. The meals are varied and delicious. Lulu is an amazing cook and you can tell her meals are made with love. The residents have access to 24-hour care and there are a variety of safety mechanisms in place. Medication is managed and dispensed, home healthcare visits are arranged as well as out-patient appointments managed. Guests are made to feel welcome and visiting is encouraged. We were impressed that the residents have access to entertainment - visiting musicians and entertainers, as well outside events such as baseball games and church services. We were initially concerned about our father's ability to transition to living with others. We're so happy to see that he enjoys interacting with the other residents, and is thriving and remains engaged, and retains a sense of independence. We don't live in the state, but visit our father at least once a month, and are so grateful that our father is in such capable and caring hands.

My mother moved to The Cottages at Peoria (formerly Pacifica), while she was still fairly…read moreindependent, but with the onset of dementia. She remained a resident for four years until she passed away at 93 years old. I talked to her daily and visited once or twice a week. So my review is a personal observation and experience. The caregivers, resident staff and executive director, are phenomenal! My mother was fortunate to live in the same cottage all four years, her caregivers became extended family. They knew her and did everything they could to make her life pleasant and easy. How she liked her coffee, her favorite cereal. She loved to read, and they always made sure she had her books. But most importantly, they were all so attentive, caring and respectful as she approached the end of her life. I was there every day during her last two weeks, sometimes in the morning, other times late in the day. No matter when I arrived, her care was exceptional. Her medication was always on time, and her comfort was always a priority. My mother's hospice nurses let me know they were impressed with the care she was receiving. She was always kept clean, her bedding was changed multiple times a week and her room was spotless. The executive director is a wealth of knowledge for all levels of care. And more importantly, she knows every resident by name, and knows their stories. I relied on her experience and knowledge for many decisions that I needed to make for my mother. She is very friendly and always approachable. She has excellent communication with her staff and is always available to answer any questions. I highly recommend The Cottages at Peoria for your loved ones.

It was a blessing to find this facility with the help of a social worker. I met with the Executive Director, Erin who helped me understand the facility's approach to caring for its residents. She brought me a since of calm that I had not experienced since starting this journey with my spouse 3 years earlier. The office staff is professional and caring. The caregivers, nursing personnel and other staff are compassionate and always helpful. I no longer feared a call from an assisted living facility as I had in the past because I knew everything was under control, and my spouse was well cared for at all times by knowledgeable and tenderhearted personnel. As my spouse's condition deteriorated, everyone from office staff, to cottage staff were very kind and comforting. I routinely visited, unannounced, so I could check on my spouse. I found him well taken care of and happy during my visits. Hospice personnel who ultimately helped with the care of my spouse coordinated with The Cottages personnel, and my spouse was treated with respect and dignity. When he passed away, the staff were genuinely upset and empathetic toward my needs. I highly recommend The Cottages in Peoria AZ to care for your loved ones.

It was a slow recovery for my mom, because she stopped caring to get better, after surgery and hospital stay. The staff at the facility were caring and supportive during my mom's stay. They took the time to understand her needs and treatments and were also helpful providing advice and support throughout her recovery process. My mom also had an issue where the date came where she was being discharged and the facility she previously lived would not take her back because they expected a hospital bed to be delivered and there was no need for her to have a hospital bed, because she was successful in getting out of her bed with PT and OT and she did not have a medical need for a hospital bed. This discharge experience became havoc for myself and my mother to locate a new place for mom at the last minute and North Park Case Manager along with my mother's Insurance Case Manager quickly resolved the issue and handled this problem immediately and resolved the issue and my mom's discharge and transport was a better experience to move mom to her new home." - Betty

I wish I could give ZERO stars…read more Our family's experience with North Park has been deeply disturbing. My father-in-law was admitted on September 9 able to walk, eat, drink, communicate, and carry on normal conversations. Within days, we watched him deteriorate dramatically. By Tuesday, he was chewing food and spitting it back out. By Wednesday, he looked extremely weak, noticeably thinner, confused, and "out of it." My husband immediately told staff that something was seriously wrong. HE was the one who raised the concern that his father appeared dehydrated and pushed them to give him IV fluids. When they first attempted the IV, they could not obtain access because he was already so dehydrated and had to call another team to obtain IV access. Despite his continued deterioration, he remained there. The lack of communication was unbelievable. NORTH PARK NEVER CALLED MY HUSBAND. NOT EVEN ONE TIME. My husband called THEM EVERY SINGLE DAY to find out how his father was doing. Getting an answer was a daily battle. He often had to call two or three times, sometimes more. The phone would ring and ring. He would be told to leave a message and that somebody would call him back. Nobody ever called him back. So he would keep calling until someone finally answered and gave him a brief update. This happened day after day. Meanwhile, my mother-in-law was physically at North Park EVERY DAY for approximately 5-6 hours and witnessed much of his decline firsthand. On Thursday and Friday, my husband repeatedly told North Park that his father was having serious difficulty swallowing. He specifically explained that it seemed as though his swallowing muscles were no longer working properly. We were told about speech therapy and were still being told to try to get him to eat. But this was not simply someone who did not feel like eating. We were watching a man who had been eating and drinking normally progressively lose the ability to swallow. By Saturday, he could no longer swallow even WATER. Saturday morning, my husband once again called North Park himself for an update. That morning he said he had had enough and told them he wanted his father OUT of North Park and sent to the hospital. ONLY AFTER my husband demanded the hospital transfer did a CNA speak with him on behalf of Dr. Hassan. My husband NEVER spoke directly with Dr. Hassan. Through the CNA, my husband was told they wanted to continue caring for his father at North Park, run additional tests, and obtain a chest X-ray. My husband strongly disagreed. He repeatedly explained that his father had been declining extremely rapidly and needed hospital-level care. The conversation became a heated verbal argument because my husband was demanding that his father be transferred. He insisted on the hospital transfer. I want to make this very clear: my father-in-law did NOT end up at the hospital because North Park suddenly recognized how seriously ill he was and proactively decided to transfer him. MY HUSBAND PUSHED FOR THE HOSPITAL TRANSFER. Once he arrived at the hospital, doctors found SEVERE DEHYDRATION, an infection/colitis, and BLOOD CLOTS IN HIS LUNGS. The hospital physician told my husband that his father was "very, very ill." Our family had been raising concerns for DAYS. If you have a loved one at this facility, please visit frequently. Call. Follow up. Write down names and dates. Document conversations. Do not assume someone will call you back simply because they tell you they will. Most importantly, KEEP ADVOCATING when something does not look right.

Keveline, Activities Director organizes a myriad of different things to do or experience. games, exercise, crafts and trips to art show, theater and museums and different restaurants. Like an exclusive cruise where you choose your activity! Ashley, Chef, provides two different entrees every day. If you don't fancy either one there are plenty of other options, Great meals in a pleasant dining room with good service. I think Chaparral Winds Independent Living Is exceptional with the relationship between staff and residents. Kathy, senior receptionist, Toni, and Danielle and others split a 24 hours day. There is ALWAYS an answer when you call. Arthur, Steve and Nacho - Maintenance - also have someone on call 24 hours for emergencies. NO, I am not being paid for this review!
