She remained a resident for four years until she passed away at 93 years old. I talked to her daily and visited once or twice a week. So my review is a personal observation and experience. The caregivers, resident staff and executive director, are phenomenal! My mother was fortunate to live in the same cottage all four years, her caregivers became extended family. They knew her and did everything they could to make her life pleasant and easy. How she liked her coffee, her favorite cereal. She loved to read, and they always made sure she had her books. But most importantly, they were all so attentive, caring and respectful as she approached the end of her life. I was there every day during her last two weeks, sometimes in the morning, other times late in the day. No matter when I arrived, her care was exceptional. Her medication was always on time, and her comfort was always a priority. My mother's hospice nurses let me know they were impressed with the care she was receiving. She was always kept clean, her bedding was changed multiple times a week and her room was spotless. The executive director is a wealth of knowledge for all levels of care. And more importantly, she knows every resident by name, and knows their stories. I relied on her experience and knowledge for many decisions that I needed to make for my mother. She is very friendly and always approachable. She has excellent communication with her staff and is always available to answer any questions. I highly recommend The Cottages at Peoria for your loved ones.

It was a blessing to find this facility with the help of a social worker. I met with the Executive Director, Erin who helped me understand the facility's approach to caring for its residents. She brought me a since of calm that I had not experienced since starting this journey with my spouse 3 years earlier. The office staff is professional and caring. The caregivers, nursing personnel and other staff are compassionate and always helpful. I no longer feared a call from an assisted living facility as I had in the past because I knew everything was under control, and my spouse was well cared for at all times by knowledgeable and tenderhearted personnel. As my spouse's condition deteriorated, everyone from office staff, to cottage staff were very kind and comforting. I routinely visited, unannounced, so I could check on my spouse. I found him well taken care of and happy during my visits. Hospice personnel who ultimately helped with the care of my spouse coordinated with The Cottages personnel, and my spouse was treated with respect and dignity. When he passed away, the staff were genuinely upset and empathetic toward my needs. I highly recommend The Cottages in Peoria AZ to care for your loved ones.

I visited several 'facilities', but my last stop was OP, and it was perfect. The staff were friendly, professional, and welcoming, not just to me but to my mom! We were embraced with their warmth, kindness and knowledge. My mother was a nurse, and her assessment of her care was, "They are excellent". In December of 2022, my mother-in- law fell and fractured her wrist. From the hospital, she was sent to rehab. She had trouble doing PT because her toe nails were long and painful. They needed to be clipped. The rehab would not clip her nails. The week before Christmas, on a Friday, she/I was given a 5 day notice of discharge. I immediately called Orchard Pointe-Surprise, and within 3 days, my mother in law was moved in and settled! She was cared for, loved on and treated with respect. The last six days of her life, staff members from administration, to caregivers, to transportation, and maintenance, came to pay their final respects and show me love and support. They speak hopefully, lovingly and faithfully and it really reflects in the faces and eyes of those who live here. They are committed to loving the residents and you see it! Hospice of the Valley persists at forcing Yelp to remove my review…read more Nurse 'Laura' virtually killed my father by minimizing care, creating an 'Atmosphere of Death,' by discouraging me from taking my father to emergency room while he continued to gasp for breath. Laura mentioned that my father could 'die enroute to hospital,' and that 'doctor would remove existing fluids from his lungs in the morning.' Callously, Laura spoke about my father's imminent death issue WHILST MY FATHER WAS CONSCIOUS AND AWARE OF HER MALICIOUS,CRUEL ADVICE. I left facility shortly thereafter, as Laura discouraged fire department from removing father to hospital,subsequent to my having phoned 911 Laura is an 'Angel of Death,' and should not be a medical professional. If you love your family member, STAY AWAY FROM HOSPICE OF THE VALLEY.

I don't blame her for leaving at all. What concerns me most is something I witnessed firsthand: while waiting to speak with her, I overheard a conversation between her and the executive director. His tone was belittling, and he spoke about writing up and firing staff in a way that felt dismissive of the people actually doing the caregiving. Given that, it's hardly surprising how many memory care directors have come and gone. It's worrying to think this same leadership will be opening a new, state-of-the-art center -- I have real concerns about whether the culture behind the scenes matches the polish out front. I don't typically write reviews, but after learning Laurin had left and seeing firsthand how unsanitary and rundown the common areas have become, I felt I owed it to other families to speak up. This is memory care -- the residents here are especially vulnerable, and I think that raises the stakes on all of this considerably.

He praised the staff are more friendly and available, the food are better, even the air is fresher compared to the last assisted home he stayed at for 4 years. My encounters with everyone (including the residents) from Bethesda were all positive. My only suggestion is I wish the med techs have a desk with a chair, so they don't have to be on the feet all day.

They never gave her fluids and she was extremely dehydrated which caused constipation! No help! After she died they recommended the worst mortuary ever! She was to be cremated and it took weeks to accomplish and their location was extremely inconvenient to the family! I voice my concerns on their website and they never even bothered to respond! It appears they are all about the money. Although I cannot prove this it appears they obviously get referral fees. They obviously never researched to see if the businesses they recommend are reputable! If you have a loved one in crisis DONOT go to Hospice of the Valley!

Danielle was especially attentive to our family's needs. The private room was comfortable, clean, and climate controlled, with access to the sunlight outside and a chair comfortable to sleep in. Best of all there were no restrictions. We could visit any time. We even brought in my family member's derpy cat that doesn't blink. He's on the catism spectrum. The lobby is a bit small and dated with a strangely-placed TV, but at least it's cozy, with wifi, plus they have free coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and water. No waffle iron yet. If you need anything else, a giant market is just steps away. I highly recommend this location, even though they don't have returning clients.
