While my therapist provided exceptional service and treatment, I can no longer use Evergreen Heath…read morePT due to the excessive charges I incurred over the course of 12 PT sessions. I was treated for tennis elbow, requiring 12 sessions of 30 minute massages on my elbow and shoulder. The total charge billed to my insurance was over $3200, of which I was personally accountable for ~$2300. That means the hourly rate for my PT was a staggering ~$530 per hour, which I find extremely excessive. I guess it was my mistake not asking for the rates before signing up, but I never expected to be gouged to this degree -- lesson learned! I eventually paid my bill and filed complaints with my insurance company and the state insurance commissioner. Moral of the story: if you are considering EvergreenHealth PT, please get cost estimates before proceeding or else you may be in for extreme sticker shock. There are much cheaper qualified therapists in the area!

One was for a nerve problem in my leg and the stretching exercises immediately relieved the numbness and resolved the issue (a year of numbness was just a bad memory). Another was for a hamstring problem and it took abt a month of exercise to get that pain under control, but it is doing fine and I can now ski again. The third was an old shoulder injury and while the pain still intermittently occurs, the exercises have made that pain manageable so that I can now kayak again. It shd be noted that after consulting with the Evergreen PT, I had a meeting with my doctor and she independently recommended the exact same exercises for each of my three problems.

I only was referred to them because of difficulties with my IUD. That OBGYN was furious it had been overlooked. When my back went out and I was having issues walking and had to have family bathe me, take me to the bathroom, and anything else...providence Monroe said they couldn't do anything until several months have passed with no change. All they did was throw prescription pain killers at me, even though they were not working. They also marked my file with "Prescription seeker" when I was clear I wanted a solution not pain killers that mask the issue. Again another clinic had to do a second opinion and have found nerve blockage and several issues with my back. Monroe Providence has no interest in treating patients. All they want to do is cover up the symptoms with medication, NOT to find or work to solve the issue. When my Physical Therapist asked for some testing because everything we tried made everything worse, my doctor said he didn't have the right to ask for more tests to be done and he isn't a doctor. Said she would send me to a physical therapist who would do the therapy regardless. She was not in any way concerned there might be something more going on. Why would a DOCTOR want a physical therapist to do things that are making a condition, that prevents me from doing anything, worse? It is absolutely unacceptable to treat people this way. They cater to the insurance companies and do not have any intention of helping patients, they just throw meds at it and say they can't do anything else. Deplorable practices.
