I have decided to review Everglades University because the reviews on here seem to be mostly complaints from people who want everything done for them. Here is my take on the school. Bottom line is all schools are for profit even if they say they aren't. They need to make money somehow to cover wages, overhead, etc. Admissions and Financial Aid: I had an easy experience with admissions. I paid the fees associated with admission, took a very basic placement test and sent official transcripts to the school from previous colleges to have transfer credit evaluated. I am a veteran and I use my GI Bill benefits to attend school here. I am taking extra classes each semester to finish faster and hit the annual limit on my GI Bill so I took a small loan which the school helped me with. I had no issues with any of this. The school is a yellow ribbon school (covers extra tuition that the GI Bill doesn't) however I am still active duty and yellow ribbon is not available to those who are active military. Classes: I love the one class a month schedule. It also makes it possible to get an entire bachelor's degree from start to finish using the GI Bill because you can finish in 36 months. There are day classes and night classes. Since the campus and student base is relatively small you cannot always take a specific class when you want. The school does its best to put as many students as possible into each course for that month so they don't end up with one person in each class. It does happen sometimes that you may only have one or two students in a course. When this happens they class becomes a directed study course. You have a reduced on campus class schedule but more on your own work. I also like the relatively small class sizes. I have not had a class yet that was more than 12 students. Some instructors are easier than others, but this is true of any school. Overall I really like this school. It is geared toward working adults. I see the instructors and administrators go out of their way to accommodate students all the time. I will say that you need to manage your time with this school. I see students all the time here that are given homework assignments with a due date a week later and still do not finish it. If you work full time and go to school, you have to be committed to making time to do the school work. The school is accredited so any degree you get should be accepted anywhere. Lastly I will say that the cost is high (about $1800.00 per month (class) and I have seen a couple of reviews on Yelp and elsewhere complaining of this. If you cannot afford to go to the school, then don't. This is a silly complaint. No one forces you to go here. There are less expensive options all over the country. read more

When I first began the admissions process, I was very excited. Taylor, the admissions counselor, was incredibly helpful in the beginning, she made everything feel very manageable. I appreciated how responsive and supportive she was at that stage. However, things changed when I ran into issues with financial aid. Despite doing everything I could to secure the necessary funding, it became clear that my tuition wouldn't be fully covered. I reached out to Taylor several times during this period, hoping for guidance or at least some direction on how to proceed. Unfortunately, she stopped responding. After how helpful she had been early on, this sudden lack of communication was incredibly disappointing, especially during such a critical part of the process. What stood out even more was that when I emailed today about needing official documentation confirming that I wouldn't be responsible for any loan repayment, Taylor replied almost immediately. It was frustrating to see that she was available, but only when it no longer involved helping me find a path forward, and instead had to do with liability. This experience left me feeling unsupported and overlooked. It's unfortunate because my initial impression of the school was so positive, largely because of her. I hope this feedback encourages more consistency and accountability from admissions staff, especially when students are navigating something as serious and stressful as financial aid. read more

HOSTILE EMPLOYEE WORK ENVIRONMENT, PREDATORY RECRUITMENT TATICS, & STRATEGIC TERMINATION PRACTICE [CEO Kristi Mollis's Tyrannical Rein over Staff] *she is not a university president, she is a money starving, vapid, human debt collector* Hello, I am a PROUD EX employee of Everglades University Online Division's Admissions Department. When I received my prior position, I had recently graduated with my Master's degree and was looking to get a full time job to start my career in higher education. Admissions was exciting, and the salary was impressive! I was all amped up to begin a career helping students achieve their dreams - but quickly realized I wasn't allowing students to succeed, but SELLING an ILLUSION of success to students through pinpointed, regimented sales tactics. Upon training; myself, and two other young graduates were seated in a room and presented with videos that explained JUST how to "get applications." We practiced a script over and over again - a script named a "discovery call" - a follow up script called a "career planning session," and then, finally, we learned the application process. We were told repeatedly that this was NOT sales. It was. If you are a student at Everglades University, I apologize; but you fell for our sales tactics. Each of our scripts were strategically designed to "get to know students," "gain their trust," "become almost like friends," and, ultimately, TRANSITION WITH AN ASSUMPTIVE CLOSE. For those unfamiliar with sales, the term "assumptive close" means that you ASSUME they will be applying, you do NOT let them off the phone, and you GOAD them to continue using pinpointed rhetorical gaslighting. If we were not on the phone, we were dialing. Over and over and over again. Dialing. This is not an admissions office - it is a CALL CENTER. Pestering students from clock in to clock out. Every day, we were expected to document when we were NOT on the phones. Bathroom breaks, small meetings... everything. Our sales quotas quickly became unmanageable. If we didn't reach our goals, we would be pulled (in full visibility of the entire office), and FORCED to sign a "performance report" which explained WHY we were underperforming. This place fabricates our inefficiencies in order to keep us terrified and complicit. QUICKLY after I began working on the floor, I noticed a trend. Employee terminations left and right. After each termination, we had a staff meeting where Vice President Jeff Day would stand in-front of us, and explain why they were either a terrible employee, or, if they quit, attempt to smooth over the reason by saying "they loved working here, they just found a different job." This totalitarian culture of fear is perpetuated by CEO Mollis, who, once again, seems to get off on making her staff so miserable they don't last even a year. I can't say enough terrible things about working for Everglades University. In just eleven months of employment, I witnessed an almost 100% employee turnover. In my last performance meeting, I asked my supervisors: "WHY is this place such a revolving door? WHY does it seem like this place is ALL stick and NO carrot?" They looked at me blankly, empathy-less, and told me to sign the report or walk. Full disclosure; staff do not receive ANY pay for performance for exceeding our goals. We barely receive promised pizza parties for our "successes." Our staff mantra, forced to repeat every day, is "smile, dial, change lives." We whispered to one another "smile, dial, SURVIVE." Working at Everglades University as staff is CONSISTENT fight or flight. The high salary is NOT WORTH IT. This company: run by CEO Mollis; (I know you are reading this, you self absorbed, image focused, vacuous human being); is strategically set up in order to maintain a constant revolving door of employees. It's a shameful business tactic. Let me explain. They hire you, INTENDING to fire you. You will NOT LAST at this occupation, and if you think you will, like I did, you will quickly find yourself beaten down with their fabricated narrative of personal inefficiencies they force you to sign for in order to remain employed. This is a business strategy. By setting UNREALISTIC goals, gaslighting staff into believing these goals are completely reasonable, and imposing fear in order to keep employees working to the bone to meet these goals, the university ACTUALLY meets the goals which are "shadow intended" The plan is to overwork us, grab student enrollments, and TOSS us when we realize the deceit behind their actions. Oftentimes; I was told by friends and confidants; "it makes no sense why there is such a high turn over, doesn't it lose company resources to keep rehiring and retraining?" NO It DOES NOT All of the re-training allows this company to have employees who are fresh faced, excited, and afraid to shake things up by crying out. This school is excellent. I have had and am still having a great experience. My academic advisor is wonderful. Everglades University is for students who like focusing on one class at a time. The classes are four weeks long and are intensive but well-rounded. The school is for people who thrive in an online learning environment, but also have some set deadlines, making it easier for working individuals or families with children. The college is expensive, but I believe it was worth it. If you don't like the class you are in, don't worry, you have three weeks left. I have enjoyed all of my classes so far. That was a huge perk for me, I get to do something different every four weeks. The ability to only juggle one class at a time rather than four is absolutely a gift. I am an Alternative Medicine student with the hope of becoming a Neuropsychologist or a Doctor of Clinical Nutrition. This degree gives me all the necessary skills to obtain this and advance my education further. It is my personal belief that the design of this University makes it really easy for those with ADHD or disabilities, as the college set up is very organized, focused on one class at a time and, with each class being set up fairly similarly, with library projects every class. Online classes provide many with sensory overload, the ability to control where their learning will take place without having to go into a University setting. The academic advisor checks in with you every semester and answers questions you may have, and talks about grades, graduation, and any other things college-related. Financial aid gives prompts for payment, making this a great environment for anyone with executive dysfunction issues. I know what to expect in every single class with clear syllabus information about the professors, and if you ask questions, they are answered almost always within 48 hours, most of the time, less than 24 hours. I thrive academically here, and I would rate this college a 10/10 for people on the spectrum and those with ADHD. read more

I would not even give this school one star at this moment. This school has a high turn over rate with department heads. The staff are rude. The only thing that I liked about this school was some of my professors where truly caring about you learning and you getting a higher education. This school will lie to you just to get your money and not care about your education. I have had to file a complaint letter with the USDOE due to the fact this school will lie and cheat you. I live in NM and was told I would be able to use my degree in the state I am in, such a lie as New Mexico does not recognize holistic Drs, only naturopathics. Not only that the credits are not transferable to another state. I had to withdraw from this school due to their lies and cheating students out of their education. As a full time employee, mother and wife it was extremely hard to go back to school. However, during the pandemic everything went virtual and I decided to go back because now school can "fit" my schedule. I enrolled in July of 2020 as a transfer and completed my studies in February of 2023. The class schedule is great for busy adults, the staff are so involved and the instructors were awesome! I highly thank the recruiting staff for making this decision easy for me! They walked me through every process and even respected my schedule and worked around it so that I could enroll. The academic advisors and dean were phenomenal. They answer phone calls, texts, emails and discussion boards with no hesitation. Far be it for me to call my alma mater a scam, but this school has gotten really weird over the last decade. It's like I found an old friend, but instead of being the nice person I knew, they've become nosy, secretive, forgetful and a liar. [I'll be leaving out names in favor of initials, and using Greek letters where I've forgotten names.] First, and most importantly, is the lie that their MPH program will only take a year. Four-week classes, just like when I was an undergrad. That's what their website says, that's what my admissions rep said...on Monday. Today, S2 agrees with Gamma and says, "No, it's two months." Can y'all not count? Twelve classes times two months apiece is TWO YEARS. And they're not going to double-up, because Everglades is famous for its "one class at a time" approach. (More about this shortly.) Second, they don't seem to talk to each other. A few weeks back, I put feelers out because I thought I was going to fail the class at the school I was already with. In one day, I talked to S1, C and O (the boss of the first two) via phone and email. I explain what's going on and they agree to call me August 31. Two weeks ago, S2 calls and wants to talk about my program, so I repeat the same thing I told the other three. Monday, Alpha waltzes into the picture and sets an appointment to talk to me after I've already heard from S2. Suddenly, S2 claims she can't help me because Alpha already scheduled an appointment. "Excuse me? You've had dibs on me for two weeks and S1 first reached out to me nearly a month ago. If anyone's stepping on toes, it's Alpha!" Oh, and did I mention VP Beta, who emails me during all this to try to get yet ANOTHER person involved in talking to me? When I finally get a chance to talk with S2 (and we had to pause for an hour so I could attend to another appointment), we spend THREE HOURS on the phone. Not ONCE in that time did S2 ever update the system, because when T tries to call Tuesday about my financial aid, she's whining because she's using ten year old information that nobody bothered to update! This afternoon, Gamma calls. (No idea who he was, because I was told my advisor was J, who pulls double duty as the dean of students.) He asks the same sort of questions S2 spent at least thirty minutes asking me on Monday. (I think T asked some of the questions when I talked to her yesterday.) I give him dull answers, and when I ask him why we're scheduling an advising appointment for February if I start class in October, Gamma says, "Do we have a problem?" "Yeah, I'm starting to think this program has been SERIOUSLY misrepresented to me!" Third, they seem prone to losing important papers. Today, S2 calls and says, "Where's X, Y and Z?" "I sent you X two days ago. I told you Y has my deadname on it and I refuse to sign it until it's fixed. Z is corrupted. I've already TOLD YOU ALL THIS, but I guess you didn't bother to read the email you asked for?" Finally, the whole staff seems to be determined to know things about me that they have no business knowing, or have no explanations for why they need the information. They're acting so weird that I'm regretting having given them my license and SSN...which I have no idea why they wanted it, since it's not like (A) I'm applying for a job and (B) I've never been there. "We need your [high school] diploma and your transcripts." For grad school? When you were my alma mater? "We need you to sign this paper concerning your undergrad loans." For grad school? "How did you support yourself in 2018 if you had no income?" It says right on my FAFSA. "But who paid for your car, phone, utilities, etcetera?" None of your business! "We need three personal references." People I've used for references in the past are already annoyed with all the calls they get...why do you want to harass them, too? I received a good education and have already starting using my new knowledge in my current position. The teachers were knowledgeable in their field of study and were easy to contact and willing to help when needed. My one complaint was the financial office. They would tell me one thing and then something else months later. I think this was mostly due to turnover in this department. I would strongly suggest against going to this school. They are concerned only with making a profit, not the interests of the students. For example, I had the majority of my lower division complete and had a large amount of student loans. I was told I could complete my courses and walk away with a Bachelors. However, with the cost of courses being $1,790 a MONTH, neither Financial Aid or Admissions had the due diligence to see if the remainder of my student loans would cover the cost. It did not. I ended up taking out another $20,000 in student loans and was not able to finish the degree unless I obtained "other forms of funding." So, the school got to keep all the $20,000 I spent and I did not get a degree. In addition, I have tried SEVERAL routes to think outside the box with this school and meet them in the middle. To no avail. Long story short, this school is strictly about profit, not giving out degrees and does NOT care about the students. To sum it up, DO NOT go here, you are better off going to a State University and investing the extra time. Schools like this should not be allowed to be in business as they do not benefit the students. They only benefit the school, if that. My experience at Everglades University has been a great journey to far. I found this school just when I thought all hope was lost for me finding a school that offered a alternative medicine program that wasn't online based. I requested information on the campus online, and was immediately contacted by Debbie in admissions who set up an appointment and explained everything I needed to know. All the staff is very friendly and always willing to help with any issues that may arise. There are three things that are important to me when looking for a school: 1. Are they accredited? Yes, Everglades is regionally accredited. 2. Are they military friendly? Yes I'm a Navy veteran and they met all my needs and more. 3. Are the classes reasonably sized? Class sizes vary, but I've been in classes from 3-15 and one thing that was consistent was that the teacher's were all very dedicated and invested in the students. I'm very happy with the decision I made to farther my education and work towards my career, and I'm so glad I took this step with Everglades University. read more

I went through the Bachelors program for Complimentary and Alternative medicine. I can not speak highly enough about the cirriculum. It was just what I was hoping for, and covered material I was interested in, as compared to "equivalent" programs. My only suggestion is to the way they handle makeup coursework. They let the professors dictate makeup coursework, and if you are taking online classes, this does not always turn out to be the most equitable solution. I think the school needs to implement a protocol for makeup work that is fair to all parties involved. Being on opposite sides of the nation, I believe the school handled my educational needs satisfactory. Admissions is always an issue, no matter what school you attend. This was nothing out of the ordinary. I am a veteran, and they treated me great. They accept GI bill funds, and are Yellow Ribbon participants. I ended up paying $114.00 for my BA, after exhausting all other money. read more

This is a fine school. I attend class on campus in Orlando so I can not speak for online classes. I am an Alternative Medicine major. Cons: It is not cheap, they like to contact you A LOT before you're in, and the admissions people are not at all organized (I've heard their bosses are awful.) Pros: Very caring and helpful professors. The professors are either Oriental Medicine Physicians, PhD's, or Doctors of Medicine. The environment is easy-going and friendly, the students are all kind and desiring to help/heal others. I have learned SO MUCH about health in general and about natural / conventional medicine. They are regionally accredited and have an Alternative Medicine major, something that is very difficult to find on a campus. Conclusion: This is a fine University. It's not the best one EVER, but it is fine. I recommend it for anyone who is intrigued by the classes. read more

No instruction what so ever, just read a book and take tests. This place has no intent of getting you an education at all, they just want you to sign up with hopes of a better future to burden you with debt. Do yourself a favor and attend a local or community college for a fraction of the cost with an actual learning experience. Wouldnt recommend to my worst enemy. They called me twice the first day and I told the second rep to please remove me from the list. I have received several calls each day since then, and now I'm getting emails. I found Everglades University by chance-on my lunch break at a nearby place of work, I walked around to the campus, on which I discovered was a school. Call it serendipity, or what have you, but I went in for more information and viewed the program offerings, one of which would be my heart's calling (Alternative Medicine), I knew this was the school for me. It was the major offered that brought me in, but it was the sincerity and integrity of the school that keeps me here to this day. Everything Everglades University has offered they have delivered. I, unlike other schools, have found them to be straightforward and realistic about everything they have offered, and for that, I appreciate. What's more, Everglades is not a for-profit (proprietary) school, so they're not in it (per se) for the funds. The cost is higher than most other well-known schools nearby like FAU, but that's because it's a private school, not (and I must mention this again) a proprietary school. Here's some things I appreciate about Everglades University: Everglades University is a very forward-thinking school. 1. Instructors. Without a doubt, every instructor there has hands-on experience working in their field. I'm in the Alternative Medicine program, and there is not one teacher I've had that didn't know the basis and expertise in their field. The instructors are well-rounded, and able to communicate effectively their demonstrated knowledge in their field. 2. Class sizes. Class sizes are ranging from 2 (the least I've personally had) to over 20, and I've never felt intimidated in class, I've never felt lost--even with people outside of my program interest, I've always felt we alwere on the same mindset and page. 3. Staff. The staff on hand, from the President to our receptionists, are professional, yet they are like family, and they care about what we as students attending this school want. Contacting them for academic, financial, or student services needs is simple, and in my experience, have always surpassed my initial requests. They take the extra step and go and beyond student requests to provide a well-rounded student-staff relationship. (Dr. Alviene I'm looking at you) Right now, at the Boca Raton campus there's a burgeoning SGA at our school, and we, just last month (and with many trials) hosted a successful Friends and Family Picnic, and we have many more fundraisers, activities, and fun planned for the remainder of the year and beyond, plans which (within reason) have the full support of the student services director, president, and staff. My point in saying this? Everglades University is not like every other school. It's unique in it's program offerings, it's one class per semester offerings, and its relatively small class sizes (with respect to other colleges), and it's day and night class scheduling. Everglades University provides a solid educational foundation for it's students by providing the students with knowledgeable and practiced instructors, financial assistance through the not-oft-heard of FRAG (Florida Resident Access Grant), a benefaction offered to residents of Florida. Educationally, there is much to glean at Everglades University. Socially, there's so much to profit from. Every career offering there is geared toward making change for the future. I've loved every class I've been in for that reason (and those listed above). And I MUST mention this. This is very important. I mentioned earlier in my writ that Everglades University is a future-geared institution, with offerings such as Renewable Energy Management, Crisis and Disaster Management (remember the zombies *wink*), Alternative Medicine, Construction Management, Aviation Management, Aviation Technology, and more. Everglades University is a fully ACCREDITED school (one of my main factors for staying, or else I wouldn't bother, alt med offering or not) by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). They are also a member of the Independent Colleges and Universities of Florida (ICUF), along with many program-related memberships. I attended Everglades for the Master's in Aviation. I had previously attended ERAU for my Bachelor's but decided to attend Everglades based on the cost difference. The staff were just as experiences with several professors coming from a military or professional aviation background. The coursework and outcome met my expectations and I am happy to be an alumni. read more
