If you're looking for the genuine college experience to make real friends and feel like you're actually being academically challenged, then this school is not the right one for you. This school mostly caters to a very specific demographic of kids with very wealthy parents who have no direction in their lives and just want to drink and party while getting a business major to work at their parents company. Your social life will be almost nonexistent here if you have an IQ over 90, aren't rich or involved in any of the sports teams. While there are a few exceptions, most of the professors come off as uninterested in being there and unless you are a business major, good luck getting any assistance from the career advisory center. I will say two of the nice things about the school is the cafeteria is pretty decent, the on campus events are fun and the classes are small allowing for more one-on-one communication with professors. If you have a lot of money, are looking for an opportunity to get a better one-on-one education and don't care about your social life then I would recommend Lynn in that case. read more

Dr John Roberts could be one of the biggest rip off Dr's in FL. I asked him to call my wife's Oncologist 10x at Dana Farber to discuss my wife's condition which he lied and said he did and left messages which I know for a fact is untrue. The knife happy Dr wanted to operate on my wife to line his pockets and should have his licenses revoked. How can to tell a patient that the cancer in her liver went away in 2 weeks and no further growths show from the PET scan or anything new in her lungs, kidneys or any other parts of her body. Unfortunately the Oncologist after properly reading the images said the lessons in the liver existed , the tumors in the lungs grew and there were new leasions in her back. I hope this knife happy Dr Roberts has his license suspended. He may be a Yale graduate but our oncologist graduated and is also a professor at Harvard. You make the choice as Robert's office never answers the phone but our Oncologist at Dana Farber in MA answered my emails in 5 minutes!!!!! As I told him on the phone with your lies and opinions I'll see u in court Roberts and we can let the judge decide as I have 5 law firms that want the case. read more

My daughter has been going back and fourth with them about a mistake that THEY made for months. They are trying to charge her for something that they did with her financial aid, I refuse. Every time we call it's the same thing about putting a ticket in for it to be investigated. How many tickets do you need to put in before the problem is resolved. She can barely ever speak to her advisor nor get an appointment. This school is so unorganized. Save yourself the stress and money. read more

Just saw Crazy for You at Lynn U Wold performing Arts ctr. Excellent show with college students . Very entertaining and very professional. They hit the notes and stayed on key. Dancing singing and acting for a full on Broadway show. Outstanding show and the orchestra was wonderful ( all students!) It was like an off Broadway performance and well worth the price. The theater is itself modern and impressive. So many in Boca are missing out on the local theater. Last week saw an excellent production at FAU theater. I used to think this county was starved of culture but no more. read more

We visited lots of colleges, Lynn went out of the way to welcome us, the staff is alert and interacts with guests. The students were talking with each other polite, talking to staff members no matter who the staff members were. The campus was very clean, the dorms were very large. The campus was building new building each year, the year we visited and as soon as one building finished a new one is starting. Very modern facilities, books are are all on line e books nothing to buy. Internships, networking, Alumimn all made this school feel like home. It was instantly our only choice for our daughter. Some students are Aviation Majors, Pre Med, Pre Law, Education, Hospitality, Business, Communication majors, mixed with International students makes this school a great mix yet small enough to get individual attention with small class sizes set in warm sunny Florida. Digital media arts, college committed fraud against me by providing false financial aid documents, and allowing me to take stipends for two years and then, after two years of one of their financial professionals, her name is Cassandra said to me. Hey, you don't have them enough money to finish hey I couldn't tell you I was lying to you to you and Robbing you because that's my job so I wrote a letter to the president president got back to me. They agreed to finish paying for my school since they committed fraud against me. My lawyer told me to go through with this particular deal, but as of today, this has not been settled so since Lynn University bought digital media arts college, they are not responsible for the for fraud committed against me and I will not rest until justice served. read more

Save your money and time They say they will help, thinking you wont call them on it and when it gets down for you. They play games and are Deceitful. There are plenty of schools that are a fracture of the cost. I am Marine and have a family and when family issues arise they said they would help. Months of me telling them I need help and nothing. Eventually I called them on it and after the fact that it took them when I said I was leaving did they reach out. Too little to late. It comes down to Lining their pockets. Do yourself a favor and do your research. The school has a C- grade overall. Let me preface all this with a pointed statement. Lynn University staff worked very hard to help me afford their school, otherwise I would not be able to attend classes there. That said: I have zero regrets on choosing Lynn University for my undergraduate degree. Zero. The school is an accredited secular private school of about 2200 undergraduate day students. The school's focused specialties include business, hospitality, and music; although I myself am in the biology program, and I hear the psychology professors are second to none. One of the school's points of pride is its high percentage of foreign students. In the last brochure it said the percentage of non-American students is somewhere around 25%, if I recall correctly. English is the only language in which classes are taught, but many professors are multi-lingual. The school has a heavy focus on liberal arts, and a required undergraduate focus on literary academia rather than unfocused electives. Most majors require approximately 60 credits be taken for your specific field, also require you to take the liberal arts curriculum of around 51-60 credits. Elective credits are also part of the curriculum, but each major has its own requirement, but most are 9-15 depending on the load of the major. Classes are small, uncrowded and usually top out at 24 students for the VERY full classes, and six for the low end. As such, the professors learn your name in a short time, and most foster academic discussion as fervently as they can; although this is not always possible given lecture format classes. Many classes are given in so-called "technology classrooms" where a projector, smart-board, and computer allow the professor to quickly disseminate information which has already been prepared, rather than waste time writing on a white-board. The campus is relatively small, but lovely, with gardens and ponds sculpted into the landscaping between buildings and walkways. There are always grounds-keepers in attendance ensuring that the looks of the campus are unsullied, and look photograph-perfect at all times. Truly the university is a reflection of the South Florida desire for constantly groomed style and grace. Lynn University is not a "commuter school." The vast majority of undergraduate students live on campus in the dorms, and merely walk to classes, a short few minutes away. There are two outdoor pools, several tennis courts, three outdoor basketball courts, a baseball diamond, a soccer field, an indoor gym, and various other amenities for exercise and entertainment. The campus in located in Boca Raton, Florida; and although all of Boca is merely suburban, the city cannot be called boring. Lynn is 3.7 miles (7 minutes) from the nearest beach, and surrounded by local culture and retail. There are too many clubs and restaurants to count, as most Yelpers are already aware, and some are worthy of regional fame. East Atlantic Avenue (only 9 miles away) in Delray Beach is not to be missed late night on the weekend. Speaking of things which are a short drive away, the campus is about 30 miles (48km) from the West Palm Beach, and Fort Lauderdale airports, and about 50 miles (80km) from Miami international airport. For long weekends, Key West is about 206 miles (332km) away, Disney in Orlando is 192 miles (309km), and Tampa / St. Petersburg are about 229 miles (369km) away. This review might sound like a love-letter so far, so here's where things start to get negative. If you've read my other reviews, you know I don't pull punches. The level of student at Lynn is around the same average it is at any other non-ivy university. This school, other than its location, small intimate classes, and eclectic student body, is not hyper academic. Lynn does not have the incredible super-focus on studies that highest ranked schools do. Rather than overhear a conversational debate on Thomas Malthus, or the efficiency of certain types of electrochemical solar cells; you're far more likely to overhear a conversation in the average range. These may vary from how tired someone is this morning, to how drunk someone was last night, or how overloaded someone is with homework from a certain class. Lynn is little different from most universities in this respect. If you're not rich, don't expect your car to be the nicest in the lot. I sometimes park my motorcycle next to Maseratis, Bentleys and Lamborghinis. Yes, I agree; 18 year old freshmen are rarely mature enough to warrant trust with such valuable vehicles, but they are not uncommon at Lynn. Luxury, it seems, is not rare at Lynn University. Now, these gripes are minor. Who cares if you're not rich? Most people aren't wealthy enough to spend 117,000$ on a GranCabrio Sport for their 18 year old, let alone themselves. Also, if you were truly academically endowed enough to be able to attend an Ivy league school, you probably would. read more

Once you finish your studies, they will tell you to go to the Carier Center office, saying that it will help you a lot in finding a company where you can make your OPT. Do you know what the Carier Center does every time you come to them? ...... it gives you a list of companies and then tells you "Go online and check if there are any open positions". Do you really think that a person is so stupid as not to be able to go ONLY on the internet and look for a job? ..... to this you need the Carier Center ?? If I could give this school less than one star I definitely would. The classes are a joke like I'm paying for an education and that's sure as hell not what I'm getting. It's literally another high school and everyone is weird as hell not to mention the faculty is useless and disrespectful and extremely unprofessional ESPECIALLY housing. It's marketed as extremely international and diverse but that is the farthest thing from the truth and I feel like being here is a waste of time. Great school!! My son was a freshman here last fall and we were worried about how he would do far from home and how he would do at college, since he didn't really enjoy going to school. Well, the moment his dad & I got in our car to head home after move in day, my son transformed! He has loved every minute of college life at Lynn. One thing he was interested in was playing Hockey. It was not a sport they had at the time. They told him during our tour of the campus in July. But, they said "if you do come here and you're really interested in it and get other students that share that interest the school has ways that can help students start up a club team". And sure enough and true to those words within weeks of the first day of classes the Lynn University Club Hockey team was formed. My son couldn't be happier at Lynn and we couldn't be happier with Lynn. So much so that this Fall his sister is joining him at Lynn. She had offers from hundreds of schools, some close to home, but seeing how much her brother has enjoyed going to Lynn and how great he's told her teachers & staff and other students are, made her decision to go to Lynn an easy one. Lynn Universities campus is nice, and the professors are great. Of course, the financial aid department is horrible and the student body is tiny on campus which leads you to seeing the same exact people all day every day. The dorms are very poor for what you expect, my dorm in Freiburger had mold growing by the A/C, and every dorm has a dehumidifier because of multiple mold issues. The class sizes are small, and you do connect with the professors and your classmates, but it made it feel like high school all over again. The IPAD PROS (the faculty and staff will never let you forget they gave you one) are cool but can be annoying, and I wished textbooks were used more. The aviation program is small, but I found it lacked for what I was looking for, the three Cessna 172's are a bit outdated in the cockpit and sometimes knobs or buttons don't work, not something you want happening when you're paying $60k+ a year to go here. The food is average, and a meal plan cost is pretty expensive for what you get. The reason I gave two stars is for the people of the college, the students (the students parents) at Lynn are wealthy, so you will see a lot of Range Rovers, Maseratis, Bentleys, money, etc., this type of wealth at a young age doesn't make the nicest of people and I found a lot of students to be snobby and hard to connect too. The school has no spirit and lots of students party and go down to Fort Lauderdale or Miami to drink and do other stuff. The second reason is the price, unless Lynn gives you a pretty hefty financial aid package there is no reason why this private school should cost $60,000+ to attend, I sadly made the mistake of going here, and I am transferring after one semester because the cost of attendance was very concerning, the reason why I have a problem with it is because Lynn doesn't really have a name for itself, and it's not prestigious to employers like many other schools in the same price range. A side note if you want to live off campus instead of the poor dorms that Lynn provides get ready to spend close to $800-$1000+ for rent, Boca Raton isn't made for college students it's made for wealthy people who can actually fork out that much a month. The university I am attending know cost $40k less then Lynn and the program has many opportunities with employers, unlike Lynn. So what I am getting at here is do your research and make sure you have money to go here! Lynn is excellent at marketing its school but can be shady once you already sign the dotted line, I ran into multiple problems with financial aid and had no choice to take out some loans. This is an average school with average professors, don't let them trick you with the Dialogues of Learning crap that makes them so "different," only four credits transferred because the Dialogue classes didn't match up to general education classes in the public university I'm attending now. If you sit in the library, you will hear a lot of students talking about the cost and wanting to transfer somewhere else. Another big eye opener was how disinterested the students were in class; there was no motivation to do a standard three to fourth DOUBLE SPACED paper, and the professors were very lenient on extending deadlines multiple times in the year because only a handful of papers were turned in. The classes felt super easy to me, and I even struggled in some classes in high school but walked away with a 3.8 GPA first semester at Lynn, it might sound good to not have hard classes but college is about being challenged in classes and working through ideas and problems to get you skills that you will use in life. If you made it this far, I hope you take my advice. I read every college review page and did my research before I committed to Lynn, and I am glad that I am finally out of there, the cost of the college isn't worth it for what you get. read more
