I contacted the recruiter, who managed to set me up with an interview--I eventually landed the job. I was cannot thank Meret at Creative Circle enough for her time and constant professionalism. Not only did Meret get me the interview, but she consistently followed up afterwards to ask how it went, even going so far as to reach out and schedule my next meeting with the agency. Creative Circle is great! After looking at some people's reviews below, don't be discouraged with the one star ratings. I just want to point out why some people may think that Creative Circle is not worth their time-when in fact, its COMPLETELY THE OPPOSITE! The key part of working with Creative Circle is to keep an open mind. They work really hard to find job leads that FIT for you! They really tailor the job leads for your experience and skill set. When you get a call for a potential lead DO NOT EXPECT to automatically get a call back right away. What Creative Circle does is provides the companies they work with your information and experience. It is then up to the company they have contacted to see if they want to work with you! It's not Creative Circle's fault that they were not able to connect you with the company, its just that the company felt you weren't the right fit for them. Also, some of these companies that work with Creative Circle wouldn't have even contacted you directly even if you applied directly through the company's website or in person. So again you are at an advantage having Creative Circle represent you because they get you in the doors! Initially I started freelance with Creative Circle taking short jobs here and there. Some were great, some were pointless-BUT AGAIN I emphasize about keeping an open mind. Although some jobs aren't your dream job right away, it's another experience bullet that you can add to your resume. I ultimately landed a full-time job with Creative Circle and now love what I do! Creative Circle has been a great help to my career search in the design industry. Before discovering this excellent staffing agency, I was working a mundane job that I did not enjoy. It did not benefit me or my future in any way. I was desperately seeking another design job and came across Creative Circle on the web. After reading about the agency and what they have to offer, I decided to submit my resume and online portfolio in hopes that I can find new opportunities with their network. After a few weeks, I received a call and email from Creative Circle saying that they found my portfolio fitting for their clients and would like to meet with me for an interview. At the agency, I met and interviewed with LeAnn, who is hands down an awesome person to work with. What i like most about LeAnn is that she is determined to find a design job that is fitting for you, something that you are capable of doing and something that fits your interest. LeAnn is also a great communicator, always prompt on getting back to you either through phone or email. With her help, I now have a long-term freelance gig at one of my dream jobs! If you get chosen to be part of the many designers working with Creative Circle, just cross your fingers you get LeAnn as a recruiter. She'll take care of you very well. Once you are employed by the agency, you will get tons of emails everyday offering you new job opportunities. These emails are narrowed down to potential jobs that fits your skills and experiences (for me, I am mainly interested in print & production work so the emails sent to me were all related to that category). Don't be surprised if you respond to some of the emails and don't get a reply back, I'm sure the agency get TONS of replies and they can only pick out candidates who they feel would be the right fit for the job. As long as you are consistent at replying to the jobs that you are interested in, you'll eventually get a respond back from a recruiter. From there on, the recruiter will give you more details about the company once they find that you are qualified for the position. They set you up with an interview for that company and if all goes well, you get the gig. Although most of the posted jobs are short-term freelance gigs (usually lasting only a few days to a few weeks), there are opportunities for long-term freelance gigs (1+ months) or even full-time positions. It all really depends on what you are looking for. The job post will tell you exactly how long you will be working at that gig and the exact rate that you will be getting paid for that gig. No BS. No catch. What you see is what you get and everything is pretty straightforward. Simple as that. To wrap it all up, I would highly recommend Creative Circle if you want an amazing opportunity to work with some wonderful companies. They got clients of all kinds, big and small, and they will definitely find work that is desirable for you. read more

A recruiter reached out to me in regards to a position that I applied for. We spoke briefly and they thought I'd be a great fit with the company. They promised they would let me know if they heard any feedback from the employer, but never heard back from them. Had to constantly call to follow-up and it's been over two weeks already. Didn't appreciate the non-follow up. I wouldn't mind if the employer passed on my candidacy but they could at least let you know regardless so you can pursue other leads. I've given four stars because I've gotten awesome jobs and freelance both through this service, and was placed at an amazing fulltime gig. It has been completely helpful as I am starting out in the field, when people don't give me any chances because I "don't have enough experience", they believe in good work and hard workers and will truly match you to things you are interested in, if you have the right attitude. I felt that my agent, Leann was very helpful in selecting which jobs that I would be good in and how to approach certain situations as a new employee in the working world. As well as generally encouraging and responsive to all my questions. While I understand that I don't get a response to every post that seems intriguing, I was never offended when I didn't hear back. Most of the complaints on here are irrelevant, just because you have experience and you seem so entitled doesn't mean you'll hear back. The process is long if you just use this as one resource, among other resources (i.e., craigslist, indeed, and other creative agencies) you put yourself in a good place and they won't send you to a mall in Koreatown to work in an attic as a designer (true craigslist fail! and is almost work the agency fees!). My only weirdness is with how much money they make off of freelance and fulltime positions, it comes with the territory as they do a lot of work to place you, but everso slightly urks me because you don't know how much it is. Regardless, very happy with the service. I highly suggest to my fellow peers coming out of the design school, I can't say for further in game, but I'll definitely use this as a resource again. read more

My experience here just made me sad. The best thing about Creative Circle is the receptionist, Desiree. She was warm, caring and sincerely wanted to help. When a recruiter called me back from Creative Circle, I was really happy, but the phone call ended with me feeling dejected because Creative Circle doesn't get a lot of jobs in my field, but we talked briefly about related fields where they may be some overlap between my skills and a prospective job. I guess I didn't seem like a good fit for Creative Circle. Then, I remembered that I had applied for a job a few days' prior that was listed from Creative Circle via Monster, so I called back Creative Circle to talk about this as a possibility, since I found it myself through Monster and it happened to be one of their listings. I was told by the same person that they don't know which recruiters get assigned which jobs (wouldn't CC have a database for this?) and if they saw a fit, they'd call me. She wasn't going to look at the listing with me and even claimed that the listing may have needed more expertise than I had, but she didn't know what listing I was talking about. This recruiter was not going to go that extra step with me or even particularly cared, so I can't use them as a recruiting source. It's really sad because on the surface, they seem really polished, but behind the scenes, the organization seems antiquated (recruiters not knowing which of them was assigned which jobs) and there was zero interest in discussing opportunities if you fall slightly out of what they're looking for like being a writer, but not a copywriter, for example. Recruiters should help you find the right job for you if they can, but also act as an advocate if they think you might be a good fit personally or as a team player, or had skills that were adaptable to the position. I found that the recruiter I spoke with, wasn't interested in creating connections or seeing how to "creatively" pair people up with potential jobs where it isn't an exact fit, but it still might be a great fit overall -- if they had thought about it a little more than the 5 minutes it took to talk to me over the phone. My experience with creative circle was all very positive and have recommended them to my friends and colleagues. I had decided to venture off on my own as a freelance graphic designer and enlisted the help of creative agencies to find me clients. My representative, LeAnn made me feel excited and confident after viewing my portfolio. She was always on top of everything and placed me with a great client that fit my needs very well ( I wanted to work from home on my own schedule). Pay was competitive and higher than i could have negotiated on my own (for those of you who complain they get a big percentage of it too- well you wouldnt get it on your own anyway, and if you did you'd pay higher self employment taxes and certainly would not get paid weekly from your clients!) Freelance can be tough and paydays can be far and few so I appreciated not having to bill the client, pay self employment tax) LeAnn always reached out to me with catered-to-me opportunities and got my name out there in a positive way. After a year of freelancing, she presented me with a full-time opportunity that turned out to be exactly what I didn't even know I was looking for. I am now working full-time in-house and the process of being hired was so easy, and creative circle took away all the annoying parts about job-searching. Well, I didn't even have to search! They do get a ton of submissions for positions - so don't be surprised if you don't get called back for every one you apply for! I applied to a bunch of positions here for around a year, and finally got a call from them. The first interview I went on after meeting with them turned into a long term position and started my career! They're an elite circle, but they do great placement. read more

I've read some of the reviews here and there are quite a bit of very negative reviews, although after reading more there are also many positive reviews posted as well. That said, I can only speak to my own experience. I was in the job market several months ago and found a listing via craigslist for a Creative Circle (CC) job posting. My overall experience from the initial pre-interview at CC with LeAnn through the 3 on-site interviews (at the employer), through the duration of the freelance period until the ultimate job offer and hiring with the end employer was a professional and positive experience. No complaints -- LeAnn was prompt, helpful and great. Staffing agencies are there to link potential employees to employers, they might open the door for an opportunity if you meet the criteria set, but ultimately it is up to you and your skill set to land the job. Pretty straight forward to me. I guess if I have a small negative to point out (which is obvious) would be the staffing agency needs to make money and how they do that is to staff positions and in the process they take a cut of your pay each week and if you're hired on permanently they'll also charge the employer a fee probably based on a percentage of your salary. In an ideal world, it would be great if that weekly percentage (for the employee) was lesser and the employer buy-out was a little bigger, but I'm sure I wouldn't say that if I was the end employer either. And as with any documents at anytime your asked to sign, you should take your time to read and understand them before signing -- that's just a given. There's pro's and con's to almost everything -- you just need to weigh them out and make the best decision for yourself at any given time. read more

The way they work is on an email blast notification structure, and the first to respond usually gets a better chance, so make sure you are ALWAYS checking your emails. Some times they do call you personally about potential job positions you may be qualified for...but most times it's through email. I'm quite happy to stay they helped me to land me a full time art direction position at a Fortune 500 company. I applied through an Indeed listing and Jessica got back to me right away. I came in for a brief get to know my skills session and Jessica recommended that I apply for a few jobs that matched my skills. I have been working steadily with Creative Circle for the past year. The key word being "steadily." It is not in fact uncommon for my greatest concern to be actually handling the time management involved to meet the needs of all of the clients they send my direction. On more than on occasion in fact I have had to politely decline an offer because I was already booked with a client through them. I was placed for work with them quite literally the FIRST day I applied. While I do not believe that to be the norm that was in fact my reality. Since beginning my relationship with Creative Circle I have had long term assignments lasting months on some occasions for big brand clients. I have also had assignments from Top ten ad agencies that I believe any Design professional would consider an honor to work with. After reading some of the posts written on here I have to confess that I am incredibly surprised and to be honest can't help but question them. Never ONCE has anyone there ever not either taken my call or not called me back in a timely manner. On the VERY few occasions I have had a less than perfect experience working with a client, had any comments or concerns what so ever they have always been very open to hearing and addressing them. I honestly believe that they are on my side as much as they are on the clients side. And, I can honestly say that after working with other agencies that is a first and should be an industry standard. My only recommendations would be to take their advice about your portfolio. Think of yourself and the services that you offer as a brand and act accordingly. Trust me, if they think they can book you they will, why wouldn't they, that wouldn't make dollars and "cents." read more

I am quite impressed by your consistency on still finding me a job even after such a long time has passed on and we have never even met personally for a Resume/Portfolio presentation etc. or even talked over the phone. Thank you for sticking with me so long, I really do appreciate it. First of all I find it quite funny that most of the jobs you send me are completely not the jobs I am looking for. You know very well that when registering on Creative Circle one has to clearly outline which jobs you are interested in.But it seems, and is quite obvious that you never even make the slightest effort to look into an applicant's file, so as to compare his/her compatibility, requirements, qualifications etc to the job descriptions. So why do you keep sending job emails to people who you already know will never get a response back from you? Do you have a fetish for collecting resume's, or do you like to collect portfolio samples to acquire new clients for yourself. What is it? Why are you so intended on banging your head against a wall, wasting your and other people's time. You just willy nilly send out email blasts to that long list of your special selected job seekers, who every week get a bunch of emails from you, but are pre-destined as "Undesirables". Aha, I know - you want to mentally torture them as they anxiously await that finally the "Great Saviour" Creative Circle will find them that long awaited job. I never quite understood your philosophy - I have never ever heard from you back again after I send you my Resume. The only ONE time I got any email response back from you was for a job that I hadn't even applied for. Oh, what a disappointment that was. I wish I had applied for THAT job!!! I agree with Khara in that I have had nothing but positive experiences with Creative Circle. I'm a freelance web designer/developer and I had listed myself with several different staffing agencies where nothing really came out of it. Through Creative Circle, though, I've gotten a pretty constant stream of freelance jobs -- all with pretty competitive pay and great clients. I'd recommend getting listed with them. Granted, I've never been in a position where I was relying them on a sole source of finding me income but, especially when freelancing full-time, it never hurts to have someone else out there scoring you contacts that you wouldn't make otherwise and jobs that you probably wouldn't get otherwise. read more

I am a graphic designer and illustrator who currently lives in South Pasadena. I came to Creative Circle after recently leaving a full time position and had been freelancing for several weeks. The switch from an agency to strict freelance was not something I felt entirely comfortable with at this point in my career so I sought an outside means of finding work hoping to find a better clientele and a more consistent workload. I can't begin to say how much a relief CC had been for me...I no longer felt the pressure of worrying about sales or new gigs because of the constant reassurance and leads I received from their team almost immediately after I submitted my resume. I initially spoke with and met Meret who was incredibly insightful and helpful in placing me. Within a week I was placed into two interviews for full time positions with two companies that I couldn't have been more humbled and thrilled to interview with. I don't have a degree in my field but I have been diligently building a portfolio over several years for design. I recently was given an offer at a studio that I am incredibly excited to start at and am confident I would not have found this opportunity so quickly on my own. A lot of the reviewers on here seemed to have gone in with false expectations or incorrect assumptions about the relationship you hold with a hiring agency. There is nothing I have found unreasonable or unfair about the terms they offer. If you feel like you are struggling to find suitable work, know they are an excellent resource. Obviously you should go after every lead you have and take as much work as possible to find stability in your career. A lot of the negativity directed towards them was from the miscommunication that they will be able to place every person without fail or that they just funnel clients to you unconditionally. Creative Circle is a sham. If you notice these glowing reviews are all written by the same person following the same page. 'Desiree was great and helpful', she walked me through the process, ' they were really nice'. Its the same review. I have submitted to jobs I would be perfect for and got a cold chill of emptiness. Mind you I have done these jobs with praise from the professionals I worked with. I seems to be their business plan ( or lack there of) in all the locations I tried out with. Seattle, LA and OC. They invite you in for an interview, tell you everything is going to be rosie and BAM, gone. I dont know how they make money or why they send me emails ( which go straight to my scam file), for jobs I would be perfect for, then nothing. What is the purpose of this? I think its some govt or VC thing that if they get more reply's showing their helping ppl they get some sort of grant or cash. Well I how the poor suckers whose funding them do their diligence and find them out for what the really are. A scam. By the way its the same with Robert Half ( the name gives them away ), which should be robert nothing. Their in the same boat as 11th hour & 24/7. Ditch these frauds for what they are! read more
