My sister was recently contacted by a recruiter (Sarah B.) from this agency. She was trying to get back into the workforce from a year of covid unemployment. This agency has very high ratings for it on multiple sites. The Yelp reviews seem too good to be true, and I think they are. I want to be frank and honest with all of you out there using these agencies. these agents and recruiters work on a quota system. A quota system built on generating leads and contacting leads for positions. In most cases you will not get a job interview or even a job offer from working with these agencies. My sister and even I have found that often the 'get to know you better' screener interview is the farthest you will go with them. In the case of my sister, Sarah told her at the end of the interview that her skill set wasn't a good fit for the opening she contacted her for. The recruiter should have known this information and either not have contacted her or should have put that up front of the interview. it was a bit of a shock to find out at the end of the interview that the recruiter was pessimistic on her and her chances. Also the recruiter said she would send her an email to get her resume, which the recruiter should have already had, and it turned out the Sarah never did contact my sister. My sister then called Sarah and left a message about this and the follow-up. Sara never responded to her... Essentially my sister like many of the applicants out there, got ghosted by this agency. This shows you that most of these agencies lack a lot of professionalism and follow through with their agents. from my experience working with another company based in Los Angeles like this, they totally don't come through with interviews and send you jobs that you apply for and you'll never hear anything back on. Do not get you hopes up on this agency or any of the agencies that promise to represent and support you in the hiring process to actually come through for you. #quotas #ghosted read more

Finding My Dream Job During A Worldwide Pandemic I saw the most perfect job position posted on Indeed by 80Twenty that aligned with everything I wanted with my career. I applied immediately, and checked for the next few days, if my application had been viewed. Knowing how competitive Los Angeles is, not to mention how much more it is now during a pandemic, I searched for the job posting on LinkedIn, hoping I could and a direct message to the assigned recruiter. At the time the job wasn't posted and there were multiple recruiters that worked with 80Twenty. I went through each profile, seeing if maybe they were separated by industry but I couldn't really tell. So I finally sent a LinkedIn direct message to the CEO of 80Twenty, Annika Brytnse. I sat with anticipation, over-analyzing if I had overstepped, if she would even respond, etc. I've worked with some amazing recruiters before, but often it's difficult to get one to respond back due to the overwhelming response of candidates they usually get. To my surprise, she replied back quickly, providing me an email introduction to Larissa Gerlach, Head of Recruitment Services. My experience with Larissa was absolutely amazing. I was able to speak candidly with her, and she communicated with me at every step. She even took additional time out of her day, to let me practice a Go-To-Market presentation, I had created on my own, hoping it would help give me an edge. She provided feedback and encouragement, that gave me the confidence to present for the executive team. When I received the news I had gotten the job from the client, Larissa didn't just email me congratulations, she called me directly! She explained that our connection wouldn't just stop here. She would be there to assist, even after I started the role. I've never felt so supported by other recruiters before. She went above and beyond her job description. In closing, I would reccomend 80Twenty to both potential clients and applicants. Looking at posts on LinkedIn and my own experiences regarding experiences with recruiters aren't always as positive. Lack of follow-up and full knowledge of what the role entails is often frustrating on both the client and applicant side. Such positive experiences as I've had with 80Twenty should be applauded and shouted to the heavens! While my initial review was positive, several developments have led me to update this review. 80Twenty paired me up with with Paid Search Account Manager position for a local go kart racing company in Irvine. The interview process went smoothly and I started the position within a week. Upon my first day, multiple contradictions came up that I had specifically asked about during the interview process, including (but not limited to) dress code, hours I was expected to work, current health of the company, and a proper workstation to conduct daily duties. I was straight up lied to by the company about these things, which I brought up to HR to no avail. I experienced blatant unprofessionalism from who would be my direct boss, including name calling of past employees. I was told I'd have to keep a long log of communication for every change I was directed to make, as management would 'forget' and look to blame me for the dip in campaign performance. I quit on my second day. During this time, Justin's boss Alexander contacted me to step in and apologize over the situation, and tried to give me guidance while navigating the situation so that I wouldn't lose my unemployment benefits. Unfortunately, due to accepting and quitting, I was disqualified, regardless of the various misrepresentations and lies involved. I was told by Alexander of another opportunity he thought would be up my alley, and then assured me he would try to 'make this right' and get me into a new position ASAP. I never heard back from him. I reached out about 1-2 weeks later and he never replied. Only after 2 months did Justin reach back out, after I had already found a new position elsewhere. What's disappointing about this is that for the last 2 months, I essentially thought I was being ghosted by 80Twenty due to how the situation turned out. As soon as things went south, there was radio silence and empty promises. 80Twenty has a long way to go if they expect to compete with the myriad of other recruiting agencies out there. read more
