But 510 changed that for me. The first day I walked in there I immediately knew this was where I was meant to get my health back. The community here is full of people you won't necessarily find just anywhere. It doesn't matter how fit you are or how fit the person next to you is, because we will be cheering you on, supporting you in a way you didn't think people did anymore. The coaches keep things fun, but also make sure you are being safe. They are hilarious and also extremely motivating. I really haven't found a gym like this since my old one closed, and to be honest, 510 is even better! I have injuries from a car accident years ago and the coaches are always ready to modify a workout for me. They are extremely knowledgeable at what they do. It doesn't matter what level you are at or if you are injured, I promise you that you won't regret stepping in those doors. It truly changed my life (physically, mentally and emotionally). I have seen lot of improvement in my strength as well in my confidence. The programming keeps me challenged and I love being able to track how far I've come when we occasionally repeat a workout. My favorite part about coming to the gym is the community that they have built. Everyone is so encouraging, celebrating each other's accomplishments both inside and outside of the gym. I've been going through classpass which is nice since I can't quite commit to a membership yet but I've been enjoying it so far! I've only taken classes with Myrissa and she was great at explaining the megaformer my first class and I find her classes to be a great push but leaves me wanting to come back as a beginner. The studio is also very aesthetic and clean which provides the perfect vibe for a workout class. I also love that they offer later classes in the evening like 7:30, 8:30, and 9:30pm - this makes fitting in a workout on a weeknight a little bit easier as long as I have the energy and time. Overall, I've been enjoying taking lagree classes here and plan on taking more classes consistently, hopefully checking out other dates and times throughout the week. I booked an Intro Body class through Classpass. It was the most beautiful Lagree studio I have ever…read morebeen in. All the equipment is brand new, clean, and glides smoothly. The instructor was kind enough to teach us the basics before starting the class, rather than explaining everything in the middle of the session. So far, I haven't struggled much compared to my first experience at another Lagree studio, yet I still struggle with abs. She only corrected my form twice. Luckily, I didn't fall while standing up. I had a bit of trouble hearing her instructions over the loud background music, but I love the playlist since it's all K-pop, lol. Overall, this was a cool studio that has a single-use restroom and a refreshment fridge (must pay in the front) in the cubby area. Once in a while, they host pop-ups from local vendors at the front desk. I would go there often if I worked near Sunnyvale. It would be nice if they opened another one in Santa Clara or on the Milpitas/ North San Jose border, since the classes are always booked easily.

These past two years have been pandemically bad. Being home all the time can lead to bad habits and terrible mental health. So I joined this gym. I'm no where near the level of the veterans at this gym, but I keep going and keep surprising myself every time. It's tough. It's fun. It's structured. Its clean. Its perfectly located. it took a couple months before it became part of my new life style, but once it did it's powerful mental and physical medicine. Coach is a character. He reminds me of strict high school teachers, hard exteriors but all love in the inside. Unless you forget to sign in, then he is just mad... lol. This gym is for you If you tried regular gyms and don't know what you are doing, or need more out of your workouts. This place is definitely for you if you need a group fitness vibe, I call it collective struggle. Partner workouts are my personal favorites. I ended up having the best fitness experience of my life. Coach David was great and taught me how to do all the barbell movements and gave the right amount of encouragement and coaching to keep me coming in. From October 2021 to May 2022, I went to the 5am classes here, which were perfect for me to get my workout in before workout. I made amazing friends with all the gym members. My wife and I have to move now because of work, but this gym had a huge impact on my physical and mental toughness. I'm looking forward to continuing CrossFit in the city we're moving to. Today was my last day at Matador, and the crew sent me off with an amazing farewell and goodbye card! I can't think of a better, more hard-working group of folks. Not just gym-mates but friends.

I've achieved a total body recomposition--losing 9.7% body fat and gaining lean muscle--all while consistently hitting the gym 4x a week. ​Coming in as someone completely new to CrossFit, I was a bit nervous, but Coach Dan and all the other coaches and members are so nice and welcoming.
