Trio of daal, spinach paneer, and vegetable curry.

Really interesting destination. We wanted to try something a little different and decided to check this place out. The menu seems to draw from both Indian and Chinese cuisines, but it's also kind of its own category. The restaurant is in a bit of a run-down strip mall on route 51, which made it somewhat hard to find and get to. That having been said, the staff were very kind and helpful, and the interior space was decorated with some amount of care. We ordered takeout, and the food was well-packaged and delicious. The samosa chaat was really well executed with a pleasant combination of flavors and textures. The steamed momo (dumplings) had a really nice flavor and were paired with a fantastic spicy chile sauce. The daal was more of a thin soup than something thicker, but the seasoning was both unique and tasty. The spinach paneer and vegetable curry were also excellent but felt much more like something you might find at a standard Indian restaurant than something unique. Nothing wrong with that. Overall, this was a nice place to check out and a business that I feel good about supporting.

This place is usually very good which is why I am giving them 4 stars despite the fact that the chicken chow mein was not nearly as good as it usually is. My main issue is that the chicken was inedible this time, and I am not kidding. It was so dried up and rock hard I don't think a dog would have wanted it. Which is strange because usually the chicken is amazingly delicious. It almost seemed like another dish this time. As you can see, we shared out dishes so neither of us wanted to touch the chicken. They must have either put the chicken under a hot lamp all day without moisture or remicrowaved it several times to get it this dry and hard. It almost seemed like a cruel joke. I wish they asked us how our meals were or talked with us at any point after serving the trays. Which usually they do. Even just replacing it with peanuts would have helped. Which is so strange because all the other times I got this dish it was amazing. I still recommend going here because their food is typically amazing. Maybe just ask how the chicken is that day or avoid the chicken. The noodles with the chicken chow mein were also significantly less fresh and flavorful than they usually are as well. I would be interested in trying the mutton or pork sometime. The chili Momo, however, was amazing. It was just a tad spicy for me but I still Loved loved loved... I DEFINITELY recommend trying the Momo here which is amazing with the caramelized onions! I also loved the feel of the atmosphere and the huge pitcher of water with lemon juice.

The food brought me right back to my time in Nepal. Too many times, you go to a specialty restaurant and find it's been changed to suite the palate of the places it's in. Well, I guess the people here like it the way it's supposed to be. If you're looking for authentic Nepalese cuisine in Pittsburgh, look no further than Everest Kitchen. The flavors and spices used in their dishes are truly unparalleled. I highly recommend the momos (dumplings) and the aloo pokora. The portions are generous and the staff is always friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it a great spot for a date night or a casual dinner with friends. Don't forget to try their Nepali tea - it's the perfect end to a delicious meal. Overall, Everest Kitchen is a must-visit for anyone.

Delicious Nepalese food and very friendly service. It has a nice atmosphere and a cool large art piece on the wall. The pork sekuwa was my favorite thing I had, but everything was great.

Hi there Yelpers! If you're looking to support a little tasty Nepalese business in the area Everest is wonderful! We read other reviews that mentioned the food coming out cold, and that was not our experience at all! We are at the restaurant and the food came out one by one in regular intervals across an hour and a half. Is it a place for a super fast meal? No, but the food was gosh darn good! We don't usually have much interaction with Nepalese food, but it's like an indo-East asian combination that I think hits the tummy and is yummy (such rhyming skills :p) with a lot less of the bloating. The prices are reasonable and the quantity is good. They are all masked and the space is big enough that you don't feel cramped and at risk of spreading Covid. They also brought out bottles of water so clearly they've been listening to feedback from other reviews. 5/5 we would come here again and I think people should show them some love! A huge meal for 3 people (we ended up with leftovers) ended up being just shy of $100 with tax and tip included. Definitely try the mutton, if you can eat meat because boy gee golly do they do the mutton well!!! They were super nice too :)

This was my first experience with Himalayan food and it was delicious. Spice wise was a combo of Thai and Indian. I went with a friend and we started with vegetarian steamed momo - yummy delicate dumplings with a spicy peanut sauce. She got the thuket and I got the Sudeka. The thuket was similar to pho. Loved the flavor of the broth and the large pieces of veggies. Very filling. The sudeka was dried fried pork which was very tasty and the addition of peas and onions offset the spice level. The service was fantastic. Very patient and answered all of our questions. Super reasonable prices too.

Incredible Himalayan food. This Nepali community and family are so kind and have a delicious menu. We love the chow mein and the Momo's especially.

This was fabulous. We got the chicken momos steamed. They were tasty, but we will try them fried next time. We got the c (chili) momos. OMG. These we soooo good. Mind blowingly tasty. I want to go TODAY and get more. They dialed down the heat a little for us (medium). I think I might be willing to give authentic a go :). We also got the chicken Thali. It was very tasty and a nice showcase. We shared it. The food put me in mind of a cross between Chinese and Indian food (if you're not familiar with the style) So good. The location is a little bit of a dive, but the food is awesome and that's what I'm going for.

Delicious Momos and very authentic Nepalese dishes. The dried chicken (Sadeko Sukuti) was outstanding. Service is good and they always have a smile on their face.. I'll definitely come back again.

    Mutton Thaali

I enjoyed my meal here. I've liked Nepalese food for years, but don't see many around. So I was pleasantly surprised to find this gem. I had a mutton thaali, with a mango lasso. All of it was great. The thaali came with pulse soup, mutton, vegetable curry, basmati rice, papadon, yogurt, and gulab jomun for dessert. All of this with a friendly atmosphere, and good service.

Noodles, potato bites, dumplings, lamb and rice, sweet ball deserts.

I hope it was just a bad day for them! Service was average for a Nepali place, no complaints. Drinks- the bar is more like a dressed up collection of hard liquor than a true bar. My friend ordered a vodka soda and got a warm shot of vodka with an offer to add some Coca-Cola to it. Ice was an after-thought that caused the shooter glass the whole thing was served in to spill over. To be safe I would recommend folks stick to either bottled beer or liquor that is good when served straight up, and warm. Tequila and scotch fit the bill. Food- We ordered an assortment of appetizers, followed by a pile of momos. Food was good, and we enjoyed our meal. Spice level was adequate although I would have personally enjoyed a bit more heat. On the whole, we left satisfied. Overall, I didn't hate it and the price was okay, but I think I'll try a different restaurant next time I'm in the mood for Nepali food.

Dishes we thought would come together were staggered out, lengthening the overall time we were in the restaurant. We had the Chicken Choila - tasted like a riceless biryani, not bad, a little salty. We had momo chili, a fried dumpling dish with competing flavors but overall good. We had two naans: chili and garlic. All very nice. Had "Chole Saag" (I think they mean Channa Saag?) .. good. Malai Kofta did not have carrots like other places, but it tasted good and you could actually see the paneer in it. Waiter could not tell us what "Kashmiri Naan" was other than to say "It has a different flavor" which I was like .. what? How can I decide then. When asked for a recommendation under pressure of ordering, he suggested Tandoori Chicken and I was like "nah" ... Negatives are mainly ambience and service issues. It was 1:30pm on a Sunday. Suddenly 10 people large family came in after us. Music got turned up when we arrived and it was too loud so server couldn't hear us. Server seemed unfamiliar with menu and was not always focused on us. Sometimes he would come and bypass us and ignore us. He was awkward with serving tray and didn't bus table. I think I meant to give him a low tip but ended up giving him a large tip by mistake. You have to go up to the cash register when you are done. They will not prompt you to do otherwise.
