DURING COVID-19: $11 Okra Sauté - Flavor was good, but was slightly over cooked which made some hard pieces.

**IN-DINING EXPERIENCE** AMBIANCE (3/5): It's hard to judge this accurately because I came when they were having an event, so half the restaurant was the "party" and the other half was regular dining customers. It was loud and a little chaotic. SERVICE (3/5): Again, hard to judge given the event that was happening on the other half of the restaurant. There was only 1 waitress doing everything for the normal dining customers and she was BUSY and UNDERSTAFFED & it was SLOW service. She was hustling as much as humanly possible! I don't blame her for the slow service, they needed another person. That's on the restaurant. FOOD (4/5): $20 VEGETARIAN THALI FOR ONE: I asked for it "spicy" but I tasted no spice at all. Maybe they just do less spice for non-Indian since usually people over estimate their spice level with ethnic food? Who knows. It was ABSOLUTELY DELISH! I loved everything on the plate and would definitely order this again! My favorite was the vegetable korma! Yummy! OVERALL (3/5): I will be back during a time they hopefully don't had a party and I can re-evaluate with normal in-dining service. BUT... I love their food here so I'll be back! I usually order to go, but I feel like the food tasted even better when I dined in!

The lunch buffet had the usual Indian items, including the veggie pakora, lamb stew, tandoori chicken, and butter chicken, among other things. The lightly breaded fish, rarely served by other buffet spots, was tasty and fresh. Highly recommended! The chili-garlic naan bread had a tender crumb and was buttery delicious. I am a big fan of desserts but the gulab jamun took second place behind the excellent mashed yellow lentils dessert. It had a hint of cinnamon and with just the right sweetness and texture. We were here on a weekday lunch. There was plenty of available tables, which were clean. The table linens were made of intricately embroidered designs, a bow to the Nepalese culture. Prayer flags and prayer wheels adorn the place. There is ample parking shared by other nearby businesses. The location is on Orangethorpe but may be difficult to find. The owner was very cordial and accommodating, taking time to explain the food and the Nepalese culture. I will come back again because I felt welcome here.

Was looking for a local Indian spot to have a quick lunch mtg and was surprised to find that this was down the street. Tucked in a small plaza, I was happily surprised. Came for the lunch buffet and Very nice service and attentive service staff. They had an array of choices from tandoori chicken, samosas, garlic naan being the staples. Can't go wrong. Everything was fresh out of the kitchen and they seemed to always be replenishing until lunch time was done. Restaurant stated they even cater and have events at their location which was pretty cool. Lunch price tag can't be beat for an AYCE!

We had dinner here tonight and what a delight it was. A group was here celebrating Diwali (the celebration of light). We were one of the few here that were not part of the group. Everyone was so kind and friendly, welcoming us to the celebration. We had already finished our supper, otherwise I would've love to join in and learn more about this wonderful celebration! Food here is always delicious. Locally Family owned and operated, home style cooking, good selection of beer and wine. Vegan options, clean restrooms. Parking in front. Friendly staff/owners. Awesome again!

I've had this place bookmarked for a few years and finally made it. It was easy to get to for a weeknight dinner since we live 6 minutes away, but the shopping center is kind of hidden due to the bridge overpass. If you can't find it at first - don't give up! We enjoy similar Asian dishes from other cultures, but this was our first time dining Himalayan. The table settings and decorations are gorgeous. Service is friendly. Food is flavorful - even the mild heat was exciting enough. Portions are satisfying. I look forward to trying more.

I found this place on Yelp because the Indian restaurants in my area have gone down hill ! I was intrigued about Nepalese food. It's basically Indian food. This place is owned by a lovely husband & wife team originally from Nepal . The lunch buffet was fresh & delicious ! Everything was delish ! The naan bread was made fresh & was hot ! They had samosa's my favorite appetizer! I recall it was $18.99 for the lunch buffet ! My good friend treated me for lunch ! The bill for two buffet & one soda was $42 and change. If you're in the area you have to stop by and enjoy the delicious food and support this local business !

This is the third worst Indian restaurant I've been to in my life. The moment we entered, we should have realized to just exit immediately. Our mistake was that we decided to stay and give this place a chance. We waited an hour to get our food. When the food arrived, it looked good, it smelled decent, but it tasted like garbage. The spices were not mixed well. The Indo Chinese chicken fried rice tasted like it had chemicals mixed in it. Maybe formaldehyde!!! the chicken in it tasted disgusting and old. Old chicken has a very nasty smell and I could smell that from the chicken here. Covering that with spices and color does not help. They are severely understaffed. I don't see how that is sustainable for a restaurant. The few people who were there waited as long as we did. I'm surprised this place is even open and has not been shut down already. It was a mistake coming here. We will never come back.

Very delicious Indian / Nepali food ! Everything is made fresh so please be patient for your food as they are making everything to order. Momos are really good and nice and flavorful. Their tandoori chicken is seasoned very well and is super tasty. The only thing is there is not alot of servers so you might be waiting for a little longer than preferred. Otherwise great food.

I've ordered for takeout twice here and both times the service was amazing and the food was so good. I got the butter chicken and rice both times and the first time it was a little too buttery (as in pools of butter on the top) but really good flavor. Second time was perfect. Chicken is tender and sauce is thick and full of spice. I love that it's right around the corner from me.

They have a new menu and lowered their pricing. Also more food selections like dumplings.

The buffet had a good selection of typical desi dishes including: 1- fried items (samosas, pakoras) 2- curries (chicken tikka masala, goat curry) 3- chicken kabobs (seekh, tandoori) 4- vegetarian (daal/lentils, palak/spinach, chana/chickpeas, and mixed veggies) 5- desserts (gulab jamun, kheer/rice pudding) All the chicken and meat items were halal which was great so we could try everything in the whole buffet. All the items had decent flavor. I just wish I'd gone a little earlier in the day when the buffet items were probably more fresh but that's not their fault. The standout and best item we had was definitely the naan which was made fresh to order for us and it tasted great with every item we had from the buffet. Service was friendly and the restaurant was clean with a pleasant decor. Overall, I think this was pretty good value since the buffet was only $18 per person (you can't even get a sandwich or burger for that price now) so I'd recommend if you're looking for a nice Indian lunch meal with a wide selection of items without spending too much.

Curry Hut is in a small plaza with limited parking (although cars frequently come and go). It's a cozy place with only six tables, but most people pick up their food and go anyways. The employees and courteous and patient, especially for those who are visiting for the first time. They constantly are turning out dishes to refill their counter hot plates and everything looks and smells delicious. They have a short list of meal combos; I went with the 2 item combo and of course upgraded to garlic naan. I got goat curry and palak paneer, along with a mango lassi. The mango lassi tasted different than others I've had; it was more on the tart side. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't one of my favorites. The goat curry and palak paneer along with warm rice were amazing! I could bathe in their palak paneer. Their food also didn't feel heavy, even though it was a very filling meal. Spice Social in Fullerton delivered a refined and memorable dining experience from start to finish. The ambiance is elegant, inviting, and thoughtfully designed. It strikes a balance between modern sophistication and comfort, making it well suited for an intimate dinner, a relaxed evening with friends, or a polished casual outing. The food was excellent. Each dish was beautifully presented, full of flavor, and clearly prepared with care and attention to detail. What elevated the experience even further was the service. The hospitality was exceptional, and the owner personally took the time to come over, greet us, and ensure that everything was to our liking. That level of attentiveness added a gracious and personal touch that made the evening feel even more special. One of the standout qualities of Spice Social is its broad appeal. It is an excellent introduction for diners who may be less familiar with Indian cuisine, as the menu feels approachable while still offering depth and authenticity. There is a subtle contemporary influence in some of the flavors and presentation, which makes the experience especially appealing to those who appreciate familiar elements alongside traditional Indian delicacies. Service was not warm to start, but it got worse after they brought me overcooked salmon when I ordered Chilean sea bass. I told them there was a mistake and the waiter tried to convince me it was sea bass. Sea bass is white and salmon is pink with a completely different texture. He did not apologize but returned my salmon to the kitchen. Good thing I ordered garlic naan which ended up being my lunch. It was good. They even included jalapeños on it at my request. It's actually hard to overcook sea bass but they managed it. A lady came by and did apologize saying something about the fish being lost in her translation. Her English sounded perfect to me. I just smiled and said it was ok but I could smell the fish coming before it hit the table. Super fishy. But maybe it would be ok. I took a bite and another just in case I had it wrong but it tasted old. Chilean sea bass is supposed to have a buttery soft texture. It just smelled, tasted and felt old. I let her know. She went and told the waiter who I could see shaking his head. He didn't return to serve us. She closed out the bill and removed the fish at my request. If that was it I would not have left this review because cooks have off days sometimes and there are hundreds of restaurants I've eaten at that just don't need a review. But the attitude I got was uncalled for. She said they served 3 and nobody else complained. Well that was awkward. After 3 they should have known the difference between salmon and sea bass. I really enjoy Indian food. Just not going to enjoy it here. I hope this review helps other diners.
