As soon as we met with her, I knew I wanted to work with her. She is super professional, down-to-earth and offered really helpful advice when we needed it. We hired Erganic for their "day of" services, which actually began two months before the wedding. Sojourner and her team put together a great day of schedule for us, contacted all of our vendors and maintained contact with them up and thru the wedding day. I didn't have to worry about a thing on our day, which was fabulous! One of her team members, Andrea, was assigned to me on the wedding day as my attendant. I can't say enough great things about her. She attended to my every need, yet gave me the space I needed to enjoy the day. She even helped work out a mishap with my makeup artist. Her other assistant, Michelle, was on the ball as well, sending us emails to make sure they had every detail in place for the day. Everyone from Erganic was amazing and I can't recommend their services more. I was truly impressed with their dedication in making sure we had the best wedding day ever!

Wedding, April 24, 2016 One word LIFESAVER!…read more I chose the wedding management package which began 4 months prior to my wedding day. Sojourner and Vanessa were amazing! I received due dates for checklist items, a timeline, preferred vendor list, Vanessa and I met a few times to discuss my vision and she helped with my decision making. I didn't have to chase each vendor throughout the process or on my big day, she made sure they got everything they needed. My biggest fear was being late but vanessa created a time line that I tried my best to stick to. The day of, she arrived at my house and assisted the videographer and photographers with anything they needed. I almost forgot my husbands gift but she remembered! The minute we arrived at the venue I got a huge surprise from Sojourner! I was feeling so confident everything will move according to plan but it never does because it's a wedding! A few people saw me before the ceremony because the venue did not have a place for guests to wait so vanessa and Sojourner helped take care of that. They were on the hunt for the ring bearer and flower girls but most of all when my in laws were running late, somehow the ceremony went on and we still managed to end the reception on time. I didn't feel stressed and I really don't know how they did it but one thing is for sure I couldn't have enjoyed a smooth carefree day without them. Thank you both!!!!

I was very straight forward with her and when I had my now husband to fire her, she told him she didn't know I was upset. When we actually fired her, she left a nonchalant voicemail and text with no formal apology. We booked our wedding venue in January 5, 2019 and I was going back and forth if I wanted to hire her full service. We chose her A La Carte event designing and gave her 50% deposit on February 20, 2019. ORGANIZATION & COMMUNICATION: The first thing I noticed was she was disorganized and I did not feel like she valued our business. I observed our meetings that she didn't write clear notes on my vision. I noticed myself always initiating a follow-up for everything. For example, I needed to know a quote for a design idea and I gave her extra time to get a quote but I had to wait for a long long time. All we did was wait for her! So much so that it was 3 months to the wedding and NOTHING was done. She won't VOLUNTARILY communicate what it was that was prohibiting her from following-up with us. She would always use the excuse that she was getting too many messages from other brides and my message got lost. Yes, something personal did happen in her life and I understood that but as a business woman myself, I would have sent a formal email to ALL CLIENTS letting them know what is happening. We didn't feel like she conducted her business communications well, especially after forking a 50% deposit early on. RESOURCEFULNESS & CREATIVITY She definitely was not the most resourceful when it comes to ideas and didn't negotiate prices. All the quotes were out of this world ridiculous. I initially wanted to fill the place with white balloons, that was gonna either cost 12K, 10K or 9K. Then we wanted streamers on the walls and ceilings which will costs 25K. Me and my husband are artists and we needed someone to think outside the box. She is not that type of planner. She was not after my heart when it comes to my vision and decoration ideas. She didn't pay attention to what I've said REPEATEDLY. I told her I didn't want flowers anywhere and no table runners and no girly, frilly things. She tried to fit us in the COMMON BRIDAL BOX time and time again to do what she's done over and over again and it was absolutely frustrating repeating myself. I was VERY CLEAR from the beginning, we didn't want the basic and common wedding ideas and I urged her to think outside the box. I figured if she was proud to be creative, she can handle it..... clearly, no. WHAT WE ENDED UP DOING My husband, friends and family, especially my mom, did ALL of the decorations. It was stressful but I would rather do that than continue working with her. We didn't care about the deposit because she was stressing me out because of her lack of just basic business skills. Susan is wonderfully warm and probably the only wedding vendor I have heard of who will email you a week before the wedding just to check in and see how you're doing! My husband and I don't know a ton about flowers so we didn't give her a ton of guidance aside from wanting fall colors. Well, we are so glad that we gave her a lot of freedom because the flowers were GORGEOUS. My uncle is a gardening enthusiast and was extremely impressed with the quality of the floral arrangements and said he had never even seen or heard of some of the flowers used. They looked fresh and beautiful and were exactly what we were hoping for. I highly recommend!

They showed us examples of "their work" on their ipad and something seemed fishy as they weren't professional at all (didn't take any information, didn't give us any brochures, no business cards). We went home and looked at their website and the photos they showed us, we did a reverse google image search on the images and each one of them originated from another website. One room they specifically showed us to show how they could transform a dingy space into something nice turned out to be from a tenting company in LA. Every piece of text on their website happened to be lifted from other websites as well (they have since redone their website it seems). It looked like every account on theknot that supported them happened to be accounts made by them as they all happened to use the same lingo. Approach with caution. UPDATE: I wrote this review awhile ago and never posted it, yelp reminded me I had an unfinished review. I took a peek and noticed their website no longer exists and their facebook hasn't been updated in 7 months. Again, approach with extreme caution.

For almost two years, Karen Brown firmly stuck with me throughout the whole long process of making…read moremy wedding a reality. My husband and I got married on a perfect weekend last April in Brooklyn. The wedding went on without a hitch, and it was better than anything I imagined. Our guests keep saying that it was one of coolest weddings they've ever been to, but judging from that you wouldn't think that there was a long backstory involved to make it happen. Karen is a master in keeping the plan on track, and she coordinated all possibilities no matter what happened the entire time. Something new always seemed to pop up, from an unexpected wedding date and location change, to me suddenly having to move to a completely different city 300 miles away, to ceremony changes, and to us considering starting from scratch to do a city hall wedding midway (which we didn't). AND she seriously saved the day when our photographer couldn't show up at our wedding. Karen Brown's crisis management skills are the sh*t. We would've had to make do with someone's iPhone pics if it weren't for her finding another photographer at the last minute! We couldn't have been more grateful for having her as our planner that day. I thought she took care of that amazingly well: the original photographer called her the night before explaining he couldn't come, and Karen then immediately contacted another photographer, who was thankfully available, and booked her that same night. Karen handled the crisis on her own before she told me on the morning of the wedding so that I didn't have one more thing to worry about. I was completely stressed out in the days leading up to the wedding. If she called me the night before about this I would've lost my mind. So I was engaged for a long time but kept putting off wedding planning since I was always too busy. Karen got me started, making it easier for me by preparing a neat folder of all the info I needed and discussing the big picture. All my husband and I really wanted was a small casual party with good food, and Karen helped us develop a creative concept that fit our budget, which was also small. Being a former interior designer, she knows how to design good-looking events well. In working with her, I felt that she really took the time to really understand us and our needs to give us ideas that spoke to us, using her extensive knowledge of wedding places and people in the NYC area. Karen also had a great way of helping me see answers more clearly when I'm indecisive about things in the process, and that was great since being the decision maker on most everything was pretty stressful. Most importantly for me, since I had so much going on in my life, was that Karen created a personalized month-by-month checklist of what I need to do prior to my wedding date and followed up with me regularly for more than a year to make sure I created a guest list, bought my dress, sent out the save-the-dates, etc. When we were looking around for a venue and vendors, she took time out of her day to come along with us and asked them important questions that I didn't even think of. She also formulated a timeline for the wedding weekend scheduling each happening by the minute and sent it to all the vendors and the wedding party to keep them in the loop. Having everyone on the same page just made everything run much smoother. One of the best things I remember about Karen was that one day she mailed me a letter that was stuffed with exclusive sales at local wedding and accessory shops. She collected these from a recent wedding planner's gathering and thought of me. I was pleasantly surprised and so touched! Not only is Karen the most organized person I know who can be trusted to cover all the bases, she's also very conscientious in everything she does, and she's so pleasant to work with on top of all that. I had quite an exciting adventure with Karen Brown and can't believe we finally pulled it off so nicely! Needless to say, I've recommended her to everyone and will definitely get her on board for my next big party!

This was party on a terrace on the 16th floor, in midtown, and had lots of moving parts to be coordinated. She found us a great caterer;worked closely with our DJ; took care of every detail we could think of (and she thought of many things we never even considered) ..and when the going got tough two days before the event, and rain showed up in the forecast, she managed to get us a tent for the event, which worked out perfectly. All in all Karen was great to work with and our party was a huge success!! Thanks Karen, for taking the responsibilities away from me and allowing me to totally enjoy our party.
