Awful initial experience, They don't give pricing or a calendar of events on the website. So I signed up thinking I could see that. It said I have to make an appointment to get that info. I called the number. A lady answered and with a ton of tone, as if I'm doing something wrong, told me she would not provide pricing or an event schedule, I had to schedule a meeting. I asked her for a rough idea of pricing. The tone of condescension was strong, how dare I ask basic upfront questions that could be on the website. She still refused to give pricing of course. The club blamed poor attendance on members doing outside events rather than taking responsibility for poor event planning. had to end my membership with Events & Adventures after a disturbing experience during the Memorial Day weekend trip. During that trip, several attendees were reportedly drugged. When I brought this to the company's attention, instead of taking meaningful action or offering support, I was abruptly removed from the Facebook chat group--where there had been conversations about bringing THC to the event. This response was not only unprofessional but deeply troubling. Rather than addressing a serious safety concern, they appeared more interested in silencing me. I closed my credit card and stopped all payments because I no longer felt safe, respected, or valued as a member. Be very careful about signing up. I've felt very pressured from the start, they ask you to sign up on the spot during your Zoom call and it's $1,000 upfront. I then had a family emergency that turned my life upside down a week after signing up and asked if I could cancel my membership. They told me no, I had passed the 3 day cancelation period per their contract and I still owed them $1,600 for the remainder of the year even though I wasn't going to be available anymore to be a part of the events. Can only speak for the Colorado chapter. Signed up around new year and been to about 10 events. Most outdoorsy events are neither gender-balanced (often 70-85% male) nor within my dating age range (more than half the people at events are 50+, while I'm 33). Basically I think out of about 100 people I've met so far - only 3-4 ladies were in my age range (under 35 anyway). About 30 were 50+ Dating-wise, I've had better luck at free-to-attend meetup events. Same for even just meeting male friends around my age. Really not sure what I paid $2k for, since all events which require any kind of reservation are paid for on top of that just as much as any walk-in would pay. read more

I went to a few events and decided this group was not for me. I was led to believe in the interview process this organization's focus was dating. When I went to a few events I noticed something wasn't right. I called the event manager and was told, that the focus was friendships that may build into a relationships. This was in contrary to the interview. I attempted to get a partial refund for the time I had remaining on my contract, but I was told I was past the 3 day window and no refunds would be provided (I have been in the club for less than 2 months). Based on the many complaints on the Better Business Bureau, this is the norm for the organization, so do not expect any form of reasonable response if you have any issues unless they are medical. With the onset of the pandemic - I was stuck in my house, working and living in my Townhome bubble. As people got vaccinated, and the world began to reopen, I found myself hungry for more activities outside of my own house. I joined Events and Adventures because I needed to meet real live people and get out and do real live things again. I love the fact that I don't have to plan anything myself. I always seem to end up being the "planner" among my circle of lifelong friends when we get together - which just isn't often enough - but who has the time to coordinate 10 calendars! E&A takes all that burden off and they do all the planning - and make all the arrangements - all you have to do is show up and have a blast. There is such a wide variety of activities from virtual brunch dates from your own kitchen - all they way to group travel to exotic places. and all you have to do is sign up. There is a membership fee to joint the club - buy hey - you can't expect someone else to do all the planning work and arrangements for free!!! I don't get these reviewers who, I guess, expected the organization to do it all for them without compensation - but hey - some people have unreasonable expectations for what they think they deserve in the world - those people will be disappointed and end up in small claims court. If you see the service as a hidden fee - don't join - there are NO HIDDEN FEES - you pay for a membership and event planners at E&A make all the arrangements, reservations, coordinates everything - all you have to do is show up to the event and pay for your meal - as you would have had to do if you went by yourself and did all the planning for yourself. If you're a sour grape - I guess you will think you got taken. I think it's an incredible value and appreciate all the work and planning that goes into the events. I'll see you in Belize in January and Greece next August - I get to travel with other fun people, as opposed to going it alone and doing all the planning myself! There is no fraudulent or misleading info unless you expect something for nothing. It's a service-oriented world these days and in my opinion this service is top notch! While the personnel on their team are great, the process is still car salesman like. Rush you to the finish line, and with a limited peak behind the curtain, the events seem much more accessible than they are. Talking from the Denver area, I signed up on the 3rd of March, and after looking through the events available for the rest of the month, everything interesting was full. I decided to check the facebook page, and no wonder they were full. with 1000+ members on facebook, and most events having a cap of 15, of course everything is going to be full. And after doing some math, the group "discount" E&A gets their members would require you attending roughly 20 events per month to balance the membership fee with the discount. I've been a member since February and really enjoyed my time with E&A. It's so nice to go to events and recognize people and feel safe and part of a large family. Everyone seems inviting and easy to get to know. Probably because we are all in the same boat so to speak. There is plenty to do. Getting out of my comfort zone was really hard to do. I never saw myself participating in human hungry hippos but I had a great time. It is costly but so was going out to dinner with a friend for one night and picking up the bill. I averaged over a month and it's a good investment for myself. I've met some very nice people. The staff is great! There is always room for improvement. Creeped out by the interview process. I met with this group at the suggestion of a friend and was blown away by the interview process. The high-pressure sales manager, Jen, started asking some very invasive questions about income level, did I carry credit card balances, do I rent or own my home, things only my accountants and financial advisors should know about me. The interview went into a line of questioning about dating. Jen has dated members of Events & Adventures and had just ended a romantic relationship with a member. She was asking pointed, specific questions about who I would date. When I said 'no single moms' she appeared to be very concerned until I clarified 'no young children at home' which moved the conversation along to other topics. You see, she had adult children, out of the house. Being appraised for dating potential by an employee of this company was not the experience I was looking for. The fact that the management is using the company as a dating service for themselves creeped me out and I will not be opting in. The events they have on their schedule seem OK, but someone new to Denver can find similar or better schedule of social events that I attend through pay-as-you-go meetups. $2000/year is just not worth it. Such a waste of money, and they do not come cheap either. After becoming a member, I was given access to the events calendar, but since I work nights and weekends, I was extremely disappointed in their Sunday/Monday/Tuesday offerings as many of those days there were either no events, host meetings, or only "Wallyball." I expressed my disappointment and requested a cancellation of membership. After much back and forth, they became very short with their emails. They offered no understanding or leniency whatsoever. And don't be fooled by the interview and background check. They let anyone into the group as long as they pay the membership fee. I stayed in the club because of the trips. I went on 3 trips that were good but then I think they oversold several trips trying to makeup for lost revenue during COVID. Then they were trying to figure out how to get people off of the trips when everything opened back up. In my experience, they withheld vaccination requirements for a trip I was scheduled to go on until 10 days before the trip. By then it was to late to complete the required vaccinations to go to Greece. Events and Adventures kept ALL of my money. $4,000 Then they told DISCOVER that I canceled out of the trip. I did not cancel, they withheld vaccination requirements until it was to late to preform required vaccinations. According to DISCOVER the Events and Adventures cancellation policy basically makes everything non-refundable unless the company is willing to give a refund. Which, in my experience and in talking to other members who have also had similar experiences with Events and Adventures the company never gives refunds. I moved to Fort Collins in May of 2021 and joined to meet people because I had no connection to the denver area. My work comes with some travel but when they started to place me in Wyoming I attempted to reach out about canceling my membership because I live 1hr outside of Denver but working in Wyoming did not give the time or availability to attend any of the events. I tried to reach out to the gentleman that did my interview, no response. I tried to call, no response. I made an appointment to meet with a rep in late 2019 after a REALLY rough year, thinking this was exactly what I needed. I showed up on crutches and in cast with pins sticking out of my foot after a recent surgery (so there was no secret that I had a substantial injury). I listened to the spiel, and thought it sounded like fun! Other than my obvious injuries, I felt compelled to share some deeply personal information about circumstances regarding a medical condition that my mom was/is dealing with, which was up in the air at the time. For the purposes of clarification, she was being considered for treatment at a world-renowned facility in Houston, and IF she were to be accepted, I would be traveling down to Houston on a regular basis and would be unable to carry forward with my membership. Jennifer was very reassuring, and naturally we moved onto the costs. When I heard the cost, I about choked. I said that I would probably need to see what ended up happening with my foot, as there was a chance it wouldn't heal properly. I also kept circling back to the possibility of having to reconsider in the future altogether should my mom be accepted for treatment. Jennifer could definitely sense my hesitation, and told me to hold on a second. She left the room, came back, and I was made a "hush hush" offer that "was RARELY offered to other members." I still thought the cost was outrageous, and so I kept pointing back to the fact that I was unsure where my situation would lead me. I was consistently reassured that should anything come to fruition with the uncertainties currently looming, I would be "taken care of." Jennifer said I wouldn't see that price again, and that I should at the very least put down a deposit for the sake of locking in the deal. She assured me that if that came to fruition, NOT TO WORRY, she'd see to it that I was taken care of. With all of the reassurance in the world, I put down half- $1200 (apparently an exclusive price). When I was filling out the paperwork, I got to the question that asked if there was anything that could prevent me from partaking in the events. I looked at Jennifer halfway laughing and said, "Should I write down everything about my mother and my injury?" She said not to worry about it, because it was a simple checkbox of yes or no. I assumed that meant she had documented my "IFs" somewhere. Fast forward only a couple of weeks, scans revealed that my broken foot did not heal properly after surgery. Right around the same time, my sweet mom was accepted into the treatment facility (total blessing)! I sent an email to Jennifer to fill her in, and she wrote back a kind note, then passed me along to Katy. I got a reply from Katy, only addressing the medical piece of my reason for needing to cancel . She made me provide a doctor's note, along with proof that I was injured. Was the inch-long pin sticking out of my casted up foot and crutches at the interview not indication enough? Okay, so I provided that to her, along with a picture of my last x-ray. She replied with a seemingly sincere response wishing me well, telling me she canceled my membership and refunded my last month's payment ($63ish dollars). Wait, what about the $1200 deposit? She said she couldn't do anything about that since it was a pre-existing medical condition. WHAT? You made me prove my injury! Katy insisted that they "forgave" the balance, but in reality they kept my $1200 deposit and stopped recurring charges. I NEVER ATTENDED ONE EVENT! To me, the $1200 is a significant amount of money; to them it's a drop in the hat. That isn't stopping them from failing to have a heart and see my situation for what it is--I never anticipated I would have to fight them for a deposit refund based on the interaction I had up front. I am so sickened by the way they're choosing to handle this. I am taking this up with an attorney, as it's not their $1200 to keep. STAY AWAY! read more

E&A is the real thing people. If you're ready to get off your couch and stop swiping this is a real quality option for enhancing your social life and meeting someone special. First of all: 1) it ain't free, expect to invest in your social life. Lets all be honest though, you get what you pay for on Tinder. 2) It ain't easy. You actually have to show up, talk to people, make conversation, get involved. If you do so this club will pay you back in spades. I joined back in January and its been terrific! My social life has moved into high gear, I've been able to develop a multi-level social circles including business contacts, casual acquaintances, couple friends and YES a steady girlfriend. I work hard during he day and it's really difficult to plan things after work and to stay connected to a dynamic social life. With E&A I can spend 10 min and plan out my whole week, or drop in on an event if plans change and I suddenly have a free evening. I'm doing things I never would have either and getting to know Denver better than ever before (and I'm a native). Please do not join this group. If you decide to join, just sign up and pay monthly because you will most likely quit in about a month. This way, you can just stop paying them. If you pay the $2300 for 18 months, you will regret it. To start, they will show you a calendar of events without prices and tell you that you can sign up for anything for the price of membership and a small, usually $5-$10 fee. Not true at all. They tell you there are discounts to events once you since up, but that is not the case either, many times, places you go to are free, but E&A will charge just to join the event as an E&A member. They also won't reimburse you if you need to cancel from signing up for an event, but they cancel events frequently without owing anything to members. One event, I arrived and found Jocelyn there telling people it was canceled last minute and told us we could just hang out. Don't try canceling yourself last minute... they will send you an email reprimanding you. Next, this group is filled with painfully unhealthy people and it's dominated by members that have been in for years and creepily trying to sleep with new members in a competition with each other like a game, men and women alike. They scare any normal person off. As a man, it made me feel very uncomfortable but I wasn't concerned for my safety with the inappropriateness of the women and just stopped going to events that focused mainly on drinking, which most events are centered on. The last issue that made me stop going is that they provide a very unhealthy and unsafe environment during the COVID19 pandemic. They state that they follow CDC guidelines, but, once at an event, you are made to feel horrible and are ostracized if you wear a mask or try to keep some amount of distance. Ask to see the Facebook page; they try to force your mask off gather you close. COVID19 is being passed around the group. I stupidly paid for 18 months up front and asked for consideration for a partial refund because I felt unsafe and E&A told me no and to read the contract. The contract has a section in it that's discusses E&As concern for safety, which is placed 100% on the members. E&A has no concern for it. Events and Adventures is a great social club. I joined in the very beginning and have seen the Denver chapter grow so much during my time with the group. There are so many events to take part in each month that you always have the opportunity to meet new friends and try new things. Yes, you have to be single to join but it is often the case that people meet in the group and start dating. But that doesn't mean you lose the ability to go to events and continue to meet new friends and try new things. I do want to note that this is not a dating service. So if you come in with the expectation that you'll meet the love of you're life within a few months, you're probably not in the right place. But if you're coming in wanting to meet friends and make connections with people, and potentially meet a love interest, this is a great group to join. Of course there is always room for improvement, no matter what the business. That's my reason for 4 stars. But the management at E&A is always working to help members succeed and be happy and they are very open to discuss any and all feedback we have as members. If you can afford the membership, it's really a great way to get out there and try new things while meeting great new people. read more

I don't have time to take advantage of my membership and they are absolutely unwilling to work with me. I have never gone to a single event and I've paid them monthly. I asked to work out a settlement and close my membership. They told me I had to pay $850 on top of the money I've already paid for absolutely nothing. They refuse to workout a payment arrangement for the $850. Bottom line, you pay hundreds of dollars a month just to have to pay more money for every event you are interested in attending. Even when major life events happen they are unwilling to work with you. They are unethical and bad people. They take hardworking people's money without providing a worth while service. Events and Adventures has been probably one of the most incredible experiences I've ever had! Before my interview, I heard about it on the radio and had been looking for ways to make connections with people. About a week after hearing about it, I thought, "just try it, you can always say no." I have to admit that yes, it is a pricey membership, but as my representative told me, "it will change your life." I hear these words every event I go to and could not be more proud of myself for doing something for me. I'm a teacher and I've been a member since May 31st, but didn't start events until mid-June. I try to make events at least once or twice a week now that school has started. I want to make the most of what I paid for my membership. For example, some things I'd never done before that I LOVED were throwing axes at a target and had a salsa masquerade ball. I love that E&A tries to reach out to a range of interests around the Denver area. I also love that they have E&A home offices around the country, so if you choose to travel, you might be able to find events out of state to keep the party going! First of all, after reading the most recent review, and after having sat through SEVERAL of their sales pitches in trying to escape their clutches, I can very easily tell that the last post was written BY one of their sales people in a feeble attempt to negate the very bad, but very honest and justified reviews they've been receiving. It's almost verbatim of the pitches I've been given every time I try to cancel. E&A, I'm calling you out: YOUR BUSINESS ETHICS MAKE MY SKIN CRAWL! In theory, this group seems amazing but for a single parent with only one free night a week (as long as child care doesn't fall through at the last minute, which, let's face it, happens a lot) and a very tight budget, it's a nightmare. The monthly rate, alone, maxes out my going out budget, and the events that are available on my free evenings usually require an additional fee. Almost no events are entirely free... Don't be fooled in the interview process when they say they offer all kinds of free events - they are lying to you. Unfortunately, despite effort, I've made it to ONE single event in the several months I've been a member, and I must say, I was even a bit disappointed at the caliber of people I was introduced to based on the "rigorous screening process" to invite members in. Granted, it could have been the type of event I was at (trivia night at a bar), but since this was the only "free" (I had to pay for food and drinks obviously) event on my limited schedule, I had to settle... I truly feel I could have had the same experience and met the same "types" of people on my own and for a much lower cost... A limited schedule due to single motherhood of a very young child unfortunately also means things can change on a dime and I may not be able to make it. This wouldn't be so terrible if events that required additional fees (which MOST do), got credited back to member accounts to be applied to future events, however, members are required to cancel with a lot of notice (a week?), and that is not possible for many single parents. Having really wanted to make this membership work because it seemed so awesome, I gave it a couple of months to see if I could pull some strings on my end because again, it sounded awesome... After a lot of effort to be more flexible and losing hundreds of dollars on a program that I have gotten absolutely no use out of, I called to BEG the good people of Events & Adventures to help me out and make an exception in the cancellation policy since I've only made it to ONE event... I have received no support other than a lot of nervous sales tactics trying to re-sell me on the "value", and maybe offering to lower my monthly fee, which helps me have more available funds to take care of my son on a month-to-month basis, but not really solving the problem at hand which is this is a program that is not working for me at all, and I'd like to just leave the membership. Their cancellation policy says I missed my window which I think should be re-worked as it is WAY too short for anyone in my situation to know if it will or will not work. I feel ripped off. I think this program could be A-MAZ-ING but NOT for single parents with a strict budget in both time and finances... If you are a single parent in a similar situation, I recommend steering clear of this service. I'm shocked! $100-200 a month. $2195 plus $30 a month for a year contract. $2695 plus $30 per month for a 2 year contract. This only covers half of the events for the month. Such a rip off. 1-3 year contract PLUS $30 monthly dues. I was "interviewed" for an hour and reminded numerous times that if I can't afford it than the interview was over. Told I needed to invest in my future. The background check they say they do on everyone was them merely asking me if I had a felony or used drugs. Then they wanted to know how much I make a year. Seemed great at first, but the events aren't actually that great and I did not find that I had too much in common with members. I asked to be let out as I did not enjoy my time and my finances took an unforseen hit, but they reminded me that I had signed a contract, this is true but I was made all kinds of promises about the events and when I actually went I did not find that I had that much to talk about with most of the members, I pointed this out but they are holding me to a contract. Also they only have a 3 day cancelation policy which kinda sucks. All in all, not a great experience and not a club I am going to be able to meet someone through. I was very excited to "hear" about this social club. I am looking to meet like minded individuals and establish new friendships and do new things. Before my "interview" I asked how much the club cost and I was quoted a monthly figure. What I didn't know is that figure is clothed in an either annual or two year contract. Otherwise , you need to pay an "initiation fee-$800" and another $147/ mo in dues- there is no "out" if you start going and it's not a good fit. Unless you are basically ready to shell over $2k + during your interview, the offer is resinded. This is a high pressure sales gig. You don't get alot of information on the events. From what I could tell, unlike other social clubs, the better events/ sporting, parties, etc all require more $ on top of what you initially pay, ontop of probable monthly dues. Alot of the free events, I wasn't really interested in... If you really need to fill your social calendar and you are new to area this may be a good fit- however, I got a bad vibe from the pressure especially when I told the guy I could budget starting next month- they will boot ya! Don't sign up!!! i was signing up because I was moving to a new city And looking for a way to meet new people. unfortunately because of covid I was not able to move. they would not cancel my account or refund me any money. I never attended any event. There customer service is terrible and I wish I would have known how terrible they would be about canceling my account and they are still trying to charge me for services I never used. read more
