I'd give it more stars if it weren't for the lack of cleanliness in the cinemas and the conduct of a large minority of other patrons, along with pared back service. To begin, the seats smell musty and are stained, the carpets sticky and some of the screens are streaked with dirt (or is it food thrown by patrons not cleaned off adequately?) Hmm. The behaviour of other patrons can at times ruin the cinematic experience here, with loud conversations between friends, knees and feet shoved into the back of one's seat and even mobiles ringing during the film (which are then answered!!!) along with people fiddling with social media/sending texts, screens shining up from the rows in front. I once had to ask someone to put down their smelly bare feet off the top of the seat next to me and they, in all earnestness, wanted to argue about it (?!). Unbelievable. Then there are the filthy toilets with the one perpetually out-of-order cubicle. There's never an usher in sight. At any one time in this large complex, only a handful of staff seem to be working. I shudder to think what would happen to patrons if there was ever a critical incident. That being said, the staff are lovely and no doubt long suffering. They do a great job in the circumstances. Lastly, I was a cinema usher back in the 1990s. It's a shame to see how cutbacks in the industry and high ticket and f&b prices have preserved profits for the large chain(s) while ultimately cheapening the experience and thus lowering expectations of what was once a fun and worthwhile outing. No wonder streaming services and sales of massive televisions are doing so well. Lift your game, Event. read more
Parking is the main problem There is nothing wrong with the cinema,it's near the train station and plenty of food options but if you drive here, the cinema can not validate tickets as they said they have no control over it so any movie which takes too long as well as grabbing food to eat will cost you! With a lot of movies being 2 hours nowadays it's a rush to time everything so you won't have to pay at least $7 Broadway validate tickets for 4 hours,if this events is losing money, now you know why! read more

Yesterday afternoon, I watched ninja turtles at this cinema, I could decide at the beginning to see the movie in v max or standard 3D. I was unconvinced about the seat at the beginning since I never watch movie in this cinema before. so I decided for just standard 3D. Ok, they have 3 different floors, as for standard, cinema 5, is located on top floor. I was surprise with the condition, seat and screen on this event cinema at parramatta, since i was comparing with event cinema George street and Bondi. Seats are very clean, and those structure of seats are comfortable enough to enjoy movie, just imagine those curve layout seat on V-Max cinema, and the space from your seat to the seat in front of you not to closed to each other. Not like in George street for non Vmax or gold class, at some cinema, seats are sticky and some are damp, not comfortable at all. Good to see other cinema as a bench mark level of comfort ness to enjoy your favorite movie. read more

The other day, I walked past Event Cinemas in Parramatta, contemplating watching a movie, when I noticed a crowd gathered there! Curious, I shoved and wheedled my way to a position where I could actually see (I'm 5'3, it's hard), and was met with dancers! Yes, there were some young guys and girls just belting it out on the makeshift dancefloor! They were quite good, and I did manage to procure some photos, but who would've thought that dancers would make an appearance at Event! Of course, there's nothing wrong with Event as cinemas go. The service is friendly and speedy, they have a complete (albeit overpriced) snack bar, featuring slurpies and chocolate and hot dogs and chips and of course, popcorn. Their theatres are vast, the seating is spacious.. everything is more than satisfactory. But the moral of the story here is; don't go past a crowd at Event. You may see sexy dancers. read more
They have escalators to various floors for different cinema's. They even have a kiddies play area on one of the floors. This place is less cinema and more happy land for adults and kids. Usual Event Cinema drill with food, drinks and watching movies. Heaps of parking and after 6pm it's free parking so you won't get hit with paying for your parking at least! Easy-ish to find. Have no idea what parking level leads to cinema, however lots of signs so you can find your way. Not the worst cinema I've been in and they are winning with the kidlet distractors on the top level. read more

The seats are comfortable enough to survive a standard movie. Video and audio quality is usually fairly good, too. During quiet periods of a movie though, you can hear the cinemas next to you quite easily, especially people in it talking at regular volume. I'm not sure how there's not more noise bleedover if you can hear conversations. Has always been clean upon entry for me, with seating in working order. I guess that's the main thing I wanted to let others know. I've been in other cinemas where the seats were sticky, lumpy, falling apart, loose etc. I've never experienced that here, so it's all good. Your only thing to worry about going in to a movie at this location is the other cinema goers, and the quality of the movie. read more

GOLD CLASS EXPERIENCE Gold Class is an experience that everyone looks forward to - an intimate cinema with reclining chairs and a wait-service of food throughout a film of your choosing. But for almost $100 (before food) for a couple to see a movie like this, you expect the night to be a damn good one. So when it all goes horribly wrong, you end up here on Yelp telling others all about it. My experience started like you would expect - we purchased our tickets online and so when we arrived at the cinema, we took our printed confirmation straight past all the queues to the Gold Class waiting area. We were instantly schmoozed by a staff member, offering us menus and giving us a seat to relax until it was time to move in to our cinema. We opted for a simple food order, due to their shocking lack of Gluten Free options. When we headed to the counter we handed them our printed confirmation and ordered 2 Cokes and 1 Large Popcorn. Simple, right? They handed us the printed ticket stubs and so we left in search of our cinema. Unusally, there was no usher to take us to our seats. But there were already people seated inside our cinema so we seated ourselves. Shortly after the movie began and our experience truly began. Our food was delivered within the first 30 minutes as promised. However, it was 2 bottles of water, instead of the 2 Cokes we had requested, and no popcorn. I advised the staff as such so they left to figure out what went wrong. Then, the staff member returned and asked us which seats we were sitting in, and checked our tickets. Due to the lack of usher I thought I may have got our seating wrong - but we were challenged by no other customers after sitting and I can infact read a ticket stub so the problem was not with where we were seated. They then confirmed what we had ordered - all while the movie is still playing - and advised that the correct food items would be brought out shortly after. Our food was correctly delivered within a few moments and with little disruption. But not long after that delivery, another staff member returned with a basket of chicken wings. I advised the staff I did not order those and they hurried away with them before delivering to the correct customers. I wish that were the end of the story. But, throughout the course of the movie I had other deliveries of food I did not order... another entree, a pizza, and dessert - all of which I advised the staff that I DID NOT ORDER THOSE. It was throughout the endless barrage of unwanted food items that I realised it was the couple seated right in front of us that were the intended recipents of the food. It got to the point where instead of leaving the cinema to return to figure out what went wrong that they would approach us, and when unsuccessful in making the delivery, they would go straight to the couple in front. Now let me be clear that I did state to the woman upon the first incorrect delivery that all we ordered was 2 Cokes and a Popcorn (and nothing more), which was recitified. So I think common sense would dictate that any other deliveries were obviously not for us. However, it appears that no communication was made with any other staff member so I was disturbed constantly throughout the movie. I will also admit that when you attend a Gold Class session, you are prepared to be disturbed when your food items arrive. And the more you order, the more you expect to be disturbed. But that is where the problem lies - if you order ONE POPCORN AND 2 DRINKS, YOU EXPECT TO BE INTERRUPTED A MAXIMUM OF 2 TIMES. NOT 6 TIMES. At the end of the movie, I approached the staff to express my disappointment with the experience that cost over $100. Until I pressed the issue, the man was going to let a "sorry about that" be the extent of his customer service duties. We were then reimbursed for the experience by way of 2 complimentary vouchers to re-do the experience. I think next time I'll try Macarthur Square or something. I should note that there wasn't much else to offset the terrible experience. New recliners have been installed which I must say weren't as comfortable as I was expecting. The toilets were neat and clean - although the one stall I chose had no toilet paper. And of course the lack of usher at the cinema door is a let-down considering you get bombarded with menus when you first arrive at Gold Class. read more

The worst Gold Class I've ever been to. The staff are so lazy that they leave the doors open, so not only do you hear the inane music in the foyer but also the movie they're showing in the cinema next door. What a waste of money. read more

Great cinema located right in the heart of westfields. You grab a bite to eat in Westfields and then catch a movie and have a coffee for desert at a cafe. Can't beat that on a rainy day... read more
