Unfortunately, I was met with a Spanish-speaking message to callers, giving no direction to those who do not speak the language, with no other option. I could not comprehend the message. It would behoove them to convey a message in both Spanish and English in the future. Unless any English-speaking caller wants to deal with getting past the first hurdle of understanding what they're saying in the first place, I would suggest you look elsewhere. One can only imagine what the end result of your pricey flower arrangement would look like, considering the language barrier. They're shooting themselves in the foot, as this pushes away potential revenue for them. I am certain a small business would want to make money from all walks of life, no?? That doesn't seem to be the case here. Oh well, there are scads of good florists that I can find elsewhere.

I need floral arrangements three to five times per year: for Valentine's Day; my wife's birthday;…read moreour anniversary; and occasionally, Thanksgiving or Christmas. For the longest time, I relied on Florabella to provide me with creative arrangements made from what were often unusual and difficult-to-find flowers. The business was well-organized and kept its schedule reliably, attractive traits to a nerd such as myself, and it sold its creations at a reasonable price. I could drop off a vase at the shop, conveniently located in Bay Ho, and, a few days later, either pick up my flowers or have them delivered to my house. However, by fall of 2019, owners Sarah Newstead and Jennifer Bull were gone, and the shop had moved from San Diego to Coronado Island, a virtual world away from the one I inhabit. Prices had risen, phone calls were no longer promptly returned, and the whole enterprise began to feel desperate and amateurish, like Mom had left the kids in charge, and maybe they were in a little over their heads. So I've stopped using Florabella, because, in the immortal words of Kimberly "Sweet Brown" Wilkins, "Ain't nobody got time for that." I grant that some of my hesitation may stem from an age-related aversion to change, and that your experience with the "new" Florabella may differ from mine, but, nevertheless, buyer beware and all that...

So I ordered from them a second time and was pretty disappointed. I ordered the Peach Fuzz floral for my aunts birthday and it had no ranunculus and was filled with mostly fillers. Don't get me wrong, it was still a pretty bouquet and I know it won't always look like the ones online, but for the price that it was, it could have had more roses or something if they ran out of the ranunculus and less of the filler. Also didn't get a proof of delivery this time, so im not sure if they forgot or if they knew it didn't look like what I paid for. I emailed the company to complain and haven't heard anything from them since. So just something to think about

I used to work in the neighborhood and would always look forward to browsing this store on my lunch break. They have an indoor boutique section as well as a small outdoor section, both filled with a thriving diverse collection plants. The sweet staff always checks in and the handful of times I've purchased a plant, I am always sent home with thorough care instructions, which is so nice to know that they actually know and actually care. Lots of plant nurseries in San Diego, but I feel the service and knowledge here are some of the best. They even help you pot your plants for free, even if the pot or the plant are from somewhere else, as long as one of them are bought here, they'll do it. Decent prices, impressive collection of adorable and unique decor and pots. I haven't tried any of their flower arrangement services but have only heard positive things.

I felt negatively about my experience and decided to call to speak to management, which to my surprise was the person who helped me in person. I expressed my discontent with my experience, and she did repeatedly apologize for how I felt, but her tone was distasteful. I mistakingly referred to my order placement as a consultation, to which she said, "There was no consultation, my love you just ordered a floral arrangement," which demeans the $50 price I paid for the bouquet. She made it seem like my purchase was not enough to receive a 5 star level of service. She rudely let me know that I was talking in circles during the phone conversation, and assured me that she had over 300 positive reviews and has been in business for over 10+ years. Extensive experience does not justify poor customer service. The owner called me "honey" and "my love" repeatedly over the phone in a condescending tone, which I let her know felt demeaning, and she continued to refer to me using those words. This is a business that deals with celebrations and happy moments, and I did not leave feeling any positive emotions about my purchase.
