Venezuelan foodie fans make sure to visit this bake shop when you are around the Cuatro Caminos district in Madrid. It was originally founded in Caracas, and till this day, it is still served and operated by the family who owns it.
If you are up for "Cachitos de Jamón", look no further, Evelia (or also known as Danubio in Caracas), have always been recognized as one of the best in the country. Try the cream cheese and turkey ham puff bread version of it, it literarily undos in your mouth as you bite it, if it is properly warmed. It was always my favorite when I lived in Venezuela and it tasted the same as it used to, so you will be able to travel with its flavor to one of our most popular food addictions. They are also experts in pastries and confections. One of their most recognized ones is the Strawberry Merengón, and it is not the typical Strawberry dessert. The cream and fruit mixture it is the perfect blend to surprise your taste of it. And of course we couldn't leave without indulging our sweet nostalgia with their chocolate profiterole, so creamy and the chocolate so mellow that you would like to swallow them forever.
The ambient is cozy and allows you to enjoy all their treats in full comfort.
A big shout out to Paula, Pal, Audrey, Sofia and Ronaldo for replicating the essence of the original Danubio shop and of course for their friendly service and housewarming attention! read more
