One of the best Mexican restaurants I've ever had. This place only has like ten seats in the restaurant and there's one cook doing all the cooking. They only take cash and it might take a while to get your food but believe me it's worth every minute. It's a whole in the wall restaurant so don't get frustrated if you miss it on the street. Great experience with outside dinning!! We took my dad here for his birthday. It was our first time here and I can't complain!! My mom had the fajitas which she loved, my siblings had bomb burritos and I had the nopales (vegetarian friendly). My dad enjoyed his asada plate, the meat could have been a little bit on the medium well side but if you like asada well done it was fine. They also gave my dad a huge slice of cheese cake for free and played Happy Birthday for him!!!! read more

I stepped outside and smoked a cigarette after - it was so damn good, and I don't smoke. As I write this, I'm salivating, I had chilaquiles once. I don't even like chilaquiles, but whoever was back there in that little kitchen woke up and thought to themselves 'I'm gonna make the sh** out of some chilaquiles today' JUST LIKE THEY DO EVERY DAY! Crispy, soft, warm, spicy, oh so spicy! The kind of spicy that wakes you up! ' oh I don't do spicy ' shut your mouth! I don't want to hear it! Or open it just to consume them chilaquiles! I gave this place 5 stars; this place is that hole in the wall we all look for. the five star scale is a relative scale; luxury could account for a high rating, but not here. I'm down with the hood and have no problem with this restaurant's location. Some would. Not you typical Mexican food menu; no chile verde or colorado. That's ok, what they do offer is fresh, generous and delicious. I had the asada fajitas; a generous pile of meat, vegetables, cheese, and chile. Totrtillas are hand made. Hand made flour tortillas are rare. Rarer they are the large Sonoran style tortillas, not as thin but good. I found myself casting glances at the dishes coming from the kitchen. This restaurant is one of the most authentic and delicious mexican restaurants in the area of salinas. I myself am mexican and my parents love going to evas my dad and mom always share the molcajete. I like getting either the chilaquiles rojos or the huarache de asada i recommend both. The plato ranchero is also a favorite from our family!! You guys need to try this local place at least once to support this family restaurant and because of the delicious food. Thought I'd update my review. Covid has really affected this place. The food is still great but wait times have increased and I imagine because it has gotten so busy, the employees seem miserable. I'm either ignored until I finally have had enough and squeeze myself through to the counter to pick up my food (which I hate to do, they see you walk in, it'd be nice to be acknowledged with at-least a "I'll help you in a sec") or I get attitude. Truth be known, the food was a 5 and the service a 5. The establishment lacks the finer touches of an even moderately decorated restaurant. That said, I go to " hole in the wall' establishments for the character and food that's not to be found duplicated any where else. This was one of them. I loved the experience. Not especially a life changing experience, but more the gastronomic delight one will always come back to. Our servers smile lit up the room and she was amazingly capable of pleasing us with great service and attention to our broken Spanish. My Sope was wonderful and the Aguas Fresca Jamaica not overly sweet. 220 is about the weight limit/size maximum for sitting at the bar, but those are the best seats. I will be back. read more

This is a great place to get breakfast or lunch. They have a huge menu where you can have a variety of choices. Bad things about this place. Very small. You can only fit like 10 people in the room. It's very very small. If you order you may have to wait outside. They also have a small kitchen staff. 4-5 people work in the back. With that said, it takes forever, minimum 20 mins if you order to go. Also, this place is not the cleanest diner. It's good so some people look past this issue. In New York they would give this place a C or D in health code. Back to the food: I had the carne asada tacos, and they were very good. The tortillas are homemade and taste wonderful. Our office ordered five items for pick-up on a Friday. We ordered at 11 am for a pick-up time of 11:45 am. We ended up getting our food at 12:30 pm. Apparently, they were short a cook, but instead of giving us a realistic pick-up time, they kept saying that the food would be ready in 10 minutes. Also, if you're picking up the food, have one person drive and the other person jump out and get the food because there are only three parking spots on that side of the street. There are maybe five street parking spots on the other side, but traffic is speeding down Williams. Most people just double parked, and got out to have lunch. I kid you not! This is a super popular place so you just have to be patient with the service, the small space, and the parking. Why is the place so popular? The food is very, very good, and very cheap for the quality of the hand made corn tortillas and the amount of food you get. For example, the chorizo huarache is enough to feed two big eaters and the corn huarache is light as a cloud with great corn flavor. One of our party ordered the asada huarache, and the meat was too fatty for her taste, but I liked it! Two girls ordered the chicken fajitas which was a mass of chicken strips, jalapeno strips, and onion strips that were seasoned very well. One girl ordered salad on the side which was not included, but she had more than enough food. The other girl didn't make any special orders but didn't want her corn tortillas. The rest of us made short work of those delicate and delicious disks! The last girl ordered chicken enchiladas. They came stuffed with rice, beans, cheese, and veggies. You cant miss this place, its a bright blue building! Ok first of all this is great mexican food! The menu varies day to day depending on how the cook. I had the shrimp tostadas, which was super fresh and light. My boyfriend on the other hand got this meat bowl that had every kind of mexican meat in it, from chorizo to asada, and it comes with beans and great homemade corn tortillas. The location isn't the greatest since it is in the east side, but its worth it. Make sure when you go that you are with someone who knows Spanish cause everyone there only speaks spanish. read more

We got a chocolate cream puff which was incredible but the guy at the counter was super helpful and even though they were getting ready to close told us to feel free to eat at one of the tables.
