You have to visit the hot springs while in Hot Springs, right? Evans Plunge looks like a community center from the outside but the spring-fed pool found on the inside is a unique and cool piece of local history. The water is kept at 86 degrees from the natural springs that flow into the pool and there are no chemicals used in the water. The first things I noticed was that the pool is crystal clear. It was also interesting jumping into a pool that has a rock filled bottom. My kids had a blast and we easily burned about three hours here. We came when the price for kids was only $3, so admission for four of us was like only $28 for the whole day, what a deal! Evans Plunge includes amenities that you would normally find at a typical community gym such as locker rooms with showers, sauna, steam room, and exercise equipment if the pool isn't of interest to you. But let's be honest, the pool is the main draw, don't skip it. Take the plunge and have fun!

A must visit if you are staying in hot springs! It has stood the test of time for over a hundred years as a great place to relax in warm water with a unique floor of stones where the springs consistently replenish the water, water stays at a consistent 87° and is crystal clear. Along with the spring water pool (which also has no chlorine) there are 2 hot tubs with chlorine, a sauna, a steam room, and an outdoor pool. Although the slides and rings that you can swing on may seem a little dangerous, it was incredibly fun and very entertaining.

I LOVED this place!! The water is perfect and the slides are fast!! Yellow SIDE DOWN (insider tip) if you are looking for a FUN way to blow off some steam after a long car ride you have found it. The Staff was Exceptional The Water Warm w/ No Smell as it's a Miniral vs Sulphur Feed pool & the Facility Was Extremely Clean!

This is a great water park. Even though the water is a little dirty this is till a great place to visit. There are 3 slides and all of them are fun. It isn't very busy and it is a huge pool. One big problem is that the life Guards tend to jump the gun with their whistles. Multiples time I got the whistle to get out of the way right after I got off the slide. Besides that it is still a great place to visit.

This is another time I want to give more than three stars but not four. The plunge is an old pool/hit spring. The water was only 87 degrees, but I wish it was a lot warmer. Besides the water temp the rest was pretty aw some. There are three slides with pads to ride on. A ring challenge area to go from ring to ring across the width of the pool. There is also basketball hoop, volleyball net, and two little kid areas. There are two hot tubs as well plus a gym area, but I didn't go to the gym area. The pool is huge and has river rock for the floor as well. Pretty unique and cool. There is also a snack area to go along side a gift shop. Pretty cool place if you are passing through Hot Springs, SD.

    Evans Plunge. Great experience.

What a wonderful and relaxing experience. After deciding to head to Hot Springs we found great…read morereviews for Moccasin Springs. I would caution that this facility is not designed for anyone requiring disabled access to the pools - many stairs. We lucked out calling and getting of the last two reservations for a two hour hot springs soak. The reservation includes access to a sauna, lockers and private bathroom / showers. There are options for additional massage services also with reservations. Towel and robe rentals are also available but you can bring your own. We arrived early and enjoyed a light/healthy brunch before our hot spring access. We were warmly welcomed and provided for some simple guidelines for the phone free / adult only spa. Once inside and changed there are access to six pools with varying temperatures. After two hours in the mineral waters you are amazingly relaxed and skin is smooth as silk. I would definitely go out of my way to come back. Passing through the quaint town that showcases the sandstone buildings allows for other food options and a walk through the park. Awesome experience!

Five-Star Bliss at Nature's Bathtub: (aka Moccasin Springs) Don't Listen to the Soapy-Karens!…read more Let me start by saying: if you're looking for a sterile, chlorinated Jacuzzi at a strip mall with fluorescent lights and piped-in Enya, this ain't your spa. But if you want to soak in real, wild, mineral-rich heaven -- where the Earth herself cradles you in a 104°F geothermal hug -- then welcome to paradise at Moccasin Springs in stunning Hot Springs, South Dakota! Now, before we dive (soak?) into this, let's address some of the ridiculous reviews. You know the ones. The "eww, there's stuff in the water" crowd. The ones who expect a hot spring fed directly from the Earth's crust to be as clear as an Evian bottle. Spoiler alert: nature has texture, people! Yes, there are things floating in the water -- because this isn't a hotel fountain -- it's a living, breathing, healing geothermal miracle. The so-called "things" are natural -- think minerals, soft strands of algae, and delicate bits of moss (in fact, some people make incredible wall art with them, so be sure to be on the lookout while you're soaking). You're not bathing in grossness -- you're steeping in ancient Earth magic. You are the tea. Let's talk the incredible ambiance. Picture this: mist curling off the surface like a spell, leaves swaying above you, and the faint smell of the earth's core whispering, "this is legit." Your stress evaporates. Your pores sing. Your city thoughts fall off like dead skin (and, yes, they have exfoliating rocks for that too). The water feels like it's charged with something ancient. You emerge transformed, like a salamander that has rethought its life. Meanwhile, Brenda from L.A. is still on Yelp, angrily typing, "Why is it green???" Because it's real, Brenda. Because nature isn't filtered through a Brita. Moccasin Springs is literal stunning, soul-soaking, mossy magic. Owner Kara Hagen has lovingly created a truly magical slice of heaven on earth. If you want to be reborn in geothermal ecstasy, come here. Just don't forget your towel, your positive zen, and maybe your loudest (whispered) "ahhhhhhh." Five stars all the way! Will soak my existential dread away in this meticulously crafted spa again and again and again! PS -- 1) While at the spa be sure to eat at the Dragonfly Restaurant. The food is literally some of the very best in the area (as is server extraordinaire Molly)! and 2) While in town be sure to check out the amazing wares at Chautauqua Artisan Market on N. River St. - also NOTHING you'd find in a strip mall!!
