Evan Mountford, Doctor of Chiropractic, did not honor the treatments for the Groupon he offered.

I've been seeing Dr. Mountford since he took over Packer Chiropractic a few years ago, and I could not be happier. Dr. Mountford is different from most other chiropractors that I had seen previously in that he truly cares about the overall health of his patients. He addresses all of your complaints, and then presses a little more to inquire about your overall health and well-being, offering constructive advice and moral support as needed. He also has the tenacity of a Jack Russell terrier, and I mean that in the best possible way. I have been considered something of a challenge because of my condition. When I first met him, instead of shying away from my issue, he latched onto it determined to resolve it. He did research on his own, and developed a set of techniques that proved to be a tremendous relief for me. I credit him with saving my job, and giving me back my life. My condition isn't curable, but with his help, I am able to function at an almost normal level. In addition, he resolved a long standing mystery that had plagued me for years. I had intermittent severe pelvic pain. I'd had all kinds of medical tests and even surgeries to resolve the pain, to no avail. Dr. Mountford did a pelvic adjustment, which is not nearly as weird as it sounds, and I have been completely pain free ever since. I had also been diagnosed with a separation of articular cartilage (pulled rib cage) and was told nothing could be done. Don't ever say that around Dr. Evan. Or do, because I did and he fixed it. Dr. Mountford is constantly updating and perfecting his knowledge and skills, in order to provide the best care to his patients. I am so thankful to have met & be under current care of Dr. Mountford. I was recently in a car accident & he has taken great care to understand my pain (both physically & mentally). He is eager to hear my progress and treat each appointment differently according to my pain level - here, you aren't just another appointment you are a person! I have been going to Dr. Mountford since last August. I started out by purchasing his Groupon. He was wonderful and welcoming. He explaIned what he provided with the Groupon and how I could continue with his care after if I choose to. I didn't feel any pressure from him or his office. I choose to continue because the adjustments I received were life changing. I had open heart surgery three year ago and I have been in pain ever since. He always listens to my concerns and would adjust accordingly. It has been amazing. Every weeks adjustment is different, he takes time to ask what is bothering and doesn't rush at all when adjusting you. Over these past months I didn't realize I was in so much pain until it was gone. He also is very personal I have notice that he knows every ones name when they come in. I really noticed much improvement when Dr Mountford was treating me. Since he's been off duty due to an injury, he's had a temp come in. Since then he's had a new Dr. who is fine, but uses a different ineffective technique. The new Dr. does the same thing everytime I come in. I feel/fear my progress has gotten worse. The pain is continuing to get worse again. I feel if this continues, I will cease treatment. read more

I scheduled my first appointment in June 2014 for a consultation. The office was clean and the receptionist was kind, professional, and greeted me. Dr. Mountford greeted me with a warm and friendly demeanor and we sat in his quaint office to discuss my history and reason for seeking care. I explained my story about neck injuries acquired through two car accidents and he inquired about my medical history as well. We built rapport quickly and I felt confident with my decision. He explained that he could help me and I had two options. One option was more of a quick fix which relieves the pain but wouldn't treat the root of the problem. He explained it would be less of a time commitment and he'd be happy to help me this way. My second option was to go through a rehabilitation program which would require a stringent schedule of visits, home exercises, clean eating, and periodic X-rays. I had suffered enough and from what I had learned about chiropractic care I knew option two was the best choice for me. The rehabilitation program length ranges between 2-4 months dependent on how a person's body responds. I understood the process and committed that I would communicate clearly how my body felt after each adjustment. In the first couple of weeks I was amazed, I hadn't realized before that my neck wasn't turning to its fullest capacity and now it was! One of the best moments I can recall is after I got in my car to leave.... I looked over my shoulder to back up and couldn't believe how much further my neck could turn without my whole body needing to twist. It was a fantastic feeling! Part of the program is using equipment at home, some for exercise and others for a sleep aid. The foam rollers, which are used under one's neck and waist while sleeping felt like a gift from heaven. They helped me stop clenching my teeth at night, relieved pressure off of my neck, shoulder and bicep, and contributed to a much deeper sleep. After two months of the program my neck pain and sore arm muscles had decreased about 75%, and the tingling fingers had completely stopped. It took about two more months for the rest of the pain to go away. I slowly weaned off the program and transitioned to the maintenance program because I had a fear of the pain coming back. By December 2014, I started to visit only twice a month and none of the pain came back. Unfortunately, in May 2015 I was rear ended and suffered another whiplash. My rehabilitation took less time and I have recovered once again. Occasionally, I feel tightness in my back and neck but my maintenance adjustment takes care of it. I strongly feel that Dr. Mountford's techniques, my home exercise, and sleep aids, all contributed to my full recovery. I recommend the program to anyone who is willing to put in the effort and discipline at home. It's been an incredible transformation to my quality of life. read more

This guy is great! There is nothing phony about him. He is very genuine and also is a natural healer. I have never been big into chiropractic care and didn't feel they had as much to offer as a "real" doctor. Boy I am so glad to have been proven wrong by the best. I used to be a non-believer of chiropractic procedures to relieve back, neck, pain. I pretty much self diagnosed and used OTC pain relief with jacuzzi, hot/cold therapy without much results. Dr. Mountford is nothing short of amazing. He found all my problem spots and treated accordingly. He is very caring, gentle, and effective. Ive never been disappointed, and always walk out feeling better. Dr. Mountford has about the biggest heart I've seen. He is 110% committed to seeing his patients get as well as possible. I have been getting adjusted by him for close to 5 years now and I never leave an adjustment disappointed. He is thorough and will go the extra mile to give the care needed. When I started having headaches and muscle spasms in my shoulder my roommate told me to go to Dr Mountford. He took x rays and it turns out my spine was curved from a recent car accident. He is the most caring medical professional I've ever met. He also has a sense of humor as well which is always nice! Dr. Mountford has been and continues to be a great advocate of true healing. I started seeing him over 2 years ago to address a recurring problem in my neck. I was out of work at the time and Dr. Mountford was very understanding and accommodating with my situation. He was generally concerned with my health and improvement and to worked to give me the care I needed while being conscious of my ability to pay. During my time seeing the good doctor I have developed an appreciation for his desire to address root causes rather than symptoms. He is definitely not a "crack and bill" DC. Several times, in an effort address a stubborn problem in my arm, he has used new techniques from his continuous research. He admits when he is stumped on a problem, then goes looking for an answer. My hubby saw Dr.Mountford today (after waking up unable to turn his neck). He was incredibly kind from the moment we came in! He ended up giving us a referral to another chiropractor that might accept our insurance (once we realized he didn't). He burned a CD of the X-rays for us to take with us and even followed up with a phone call this evening...keep in mind this all took place after he knew we would be going to another chiropractor!! Who does that?? He was so understanding and Jamie who greeted us was very sweet. Loved the office - calming environment that makes you feel relaxed as soon as you walk in. In short, this office has an amazing staff that truly cares about people. Hard to find these days!! I moved to San Diego almost a year ago and I am still searching to find a chiropractor like Dr. Mountford. He really cares about each patient and it shows. He will customize your adjustment to make you completely pain free unlike others that just go through the motions doing the same adjustments on every patient.
