When I first called to ask about insurance, the receptionist repeatedly called me by the wrong name, even after I corrected her. I called back to clarify coverage, and she scheduled an appointment for my husband. I then had to remind her that the appointment was for both of us before she added me. We have kids and had to arrange childcare, including having a family member take time off work, so getting to this appointment took real effort. When we arrived, she reviewed our insurance card and immediately questioned our deductible, saying she was going to charge us and that we needed to know our deductible for future visits. When we suggested calling the insurance company, my husband did so and confirmed that our chiropractic care is covered at 100% with no deductible. Instead of handling this professionally, she appeared surprised and said she had "never heard of that," and that "she's been around a long time", followed by, "It'd be nice if they paid me back at 100%," in a sarcastic and rude tone. She then asked where my husband works and made comments implying that he must be "high up" to have good insurance. This felt inappropriate and judgmental. She then proceeded by saying that he must have been in the right place at the right time. Immediately, we felt offended. When we explained that it comes from hard work, not luck, the interaction became even more uncomfortable. The overall experience was unprofessional, dismissive, and made us feel unwelcome. We did not feel respected as patients. After everything, we chose to leave without receiving care. It's unfortunate that we weren't able to experience the doctor's adjustments due to how Tracy spoke to us. I'm not sure why our experience was so different from how this office is portrayed in other reviews. Tracy was NOT helpful, and by the time we left, we felt more tense than when we arrived. Between the scheduling issues, misinformation about insurance, and disrespectful comments, this was not an environment we were comfortable in. I haven't felt this good in over 20 years. I have an old injury that I agitated so badly I was struggling to do simple things. When the pain was keeping me up at night I found Dr. Longo. When I called, Tracie could hear the pain in my voice and she squeezed me in. She and Dr.Longo make a fantastic team creating a very healing environment. He usued a Zone Therapy Technique and let me just say he is walking his gifted space. I can't count how many doctors have treated my back including the ER and have NEVER been able to have me feel this strong and almost pain free. I think I only need 2 more weekly visits until I can move into maintenance mode and achieve the healing I have been searching for since a really bad car accident in 2002. LOVE Dr. Longo and Tracee!! I recently moved to Folsom from Texas and was looking for a zone doctor. I had been a patient of Dr. Pete Goldman (Dr Josh's teacher/mentor) 23 years ago but Pete moved and so, I was left having to get "treatment" from traditional chiropractors. Which helped nothing. I developed a serious rotator cuff problem with excruciating pain two years ago (which I had for over a year) so when I found Dr. Josh I was super excited and grateful! I've been seeing him for about 9 months now and my injury is about 85+ % better!! Very little pain and almost full mobility. Plus all of my other health challenges are balancing too!! He took me in with no appointment and dedicated half an hour to examining me, listening to my concerns and then explaining the problem. I love this guy! If you're looking for someone who does traditional chiropractic and does it well, Josh is your man. Good adjustments, minimal pain and trama, very good people skills. Note that this is traditional "rack and crack" although he does it very well. If you're looking for someone who specializes in cranial-sacral, kinesiology, best technique, etc. you may want to look elsewhere, but let me tell you that he is good and I felt immediately better. His goal is to make you better and he does, even if it means losing your business. True sign of a good doctor. I highly reccomend Josh. I would give him 4 1/2 stars - a half star off because he doesn't study/employ/encorporate some of the other techniques in to his practice. Note that I had two different chiropractors in the past that spent a good amount of their time going to schools and seminars and employed a variety of techniques, and one of them was also a professional massuse. I reserve 5 stars for them and for anyone in the future that I happen across with similar skills. I feel bad giving only 4 stars to Josh because he really is one of the best traditional chiropractors I've ever visited, but yelp hasn't employed half stars yet. :( A bit of trivia: I had a chiropractor in Thousand Oaks, CA named Max Baer Jr. who happens to also be the guy who played Jethro in The Beverly Hillbillies, and got tired of Hollywood. He was a pretty good chiropractor before he retired 12 years ago. I believe his son took over the family business. I would have had to give him and two other good traditional chiropractors I've seen in the past 4 stars as well. I can't imagine not having Dr. Longo in my life! When I was pregnant I had really bad morning sickness and the only thing that helped make it manageable was seeing Dr. Longo. His new Zone Technique always helped ease the nausea. The delivery of my baby was fairly easy, and I really credit a lot of it to chiropractic, it was great for keeping my immune system healthy and for making sure there was enough room for the baby to be comfortable. Besides the normal aches of growing a human, I didn't experience any kinds of uncomfortable pains such as round ligament pain. After I had my baby, Dr. Longo came and adjusted her when she was only 5 days old, but I didn't bring her in again for a few weeks after. When she was 5 weeks old she didn't have a bowel movement for over a week, so I took her in to see Dr. Longo and she's being regular ever since we started a weekly maintenance routine. All I can say is wow. I had an injury early last year that I thought would take me out of running. I had just signed up for my first full marathon and I was worried I wouldn't be able to train or complete it. My husband knew Dr Josh and had gone to him, so he asked me to go see him. After our first consult, Dr Josh put me at ease. We discussed my training plan and he provided me some recommendations what to do pre and post run. We also developed a plan to get adjustments throughout my training. Each time I saw him, we did a check in, he asked me how I was doing, and he offered suggestions. He didn't tell me to stop running (which I appreciated) he just gave me suggestions while balancing my healing with my training. And then it happened. I started running pain free.
