You have to book Jessica! As a treat to myself I booked a much needed hydro facial. It was my first facial ever. Jessica was so sweet and knowledgeable it made me super comfortable. I was referred by my corrective skincare specialist as I had not done any cosmetic procedures in the East Bay and did not know who to go to. I made an appointment to have the small capillaries around my nostrils lasered. Julie was very nice and I did sign a consent form upon check in which is par for the course at any medspa. That being said, I asked her before she started lasering if there would be any recovery time or side effects from the laser. She said no there should not be any downtime or side effects. After answering my question she began the treatment which was moderately painful but nothing crazy. It looked like the capillaries were starting to fade and I left happy. Later that night I noticed dark red burn marks and scabs starting to form around both nostrils, some with liquid and flaking. I called the next day and Julie told me to keep it clean and dry and it should clear up within a week. It has now been almost a month and the red burn marks have mostly healed but now there are residual red marks from the laser burns on top of the capillaries that have actually returned. I understand that there is no guarantee against the capillaries coming back after a treatment, but to actually leave red burn scars on top of the area that now requires more cover up is not ok. I called to ask Julie about what my options are and if I could have a refund since she made the problem I was trying to correct worse, and she was unwilling to budge. If she had told me when I asked her prior to the treatment that there was a chance of burns/a month long healing period/ permanent red scars over the area, I would not have gone through with the treatment. Moral of the story, go to a licensed dermatologist to get laser treatments. read more

I love this place. Since moving to this side of the tunnel, I've spent several years looking for an esthetician. I am so happy to have found Stacey at Evaluer. She is detail-oriented, doesn't try and up sell you, as well as takes the time to explain anything you have a question about. Stacey leaves my face feeling amazing after a facial and does a pretty pain-free, detail-oriented Brazilian (as those sort of things go). After asking Stacey and Jennifer (front desk) about laser hair removal, I finally had a consultation with Julie. She is thoughtful, doesn't rush you, and doesn't try and up sell you either. I had already been to another Bay Area hair removal place for a consultation, but that establishment, while cheaper, gave the same speech to each potential patient. I heard her repeat verbatim the same speech she gave me to the two other people in front of me. When it came to my turn, the woman wouldn't answer my questions and pushed to have me buy a package. Needless to say, she didn't get my business. Julie was completely different. Understanding, low-key, respectful of what a chicken I am when it comes to pain, and when I decided to do the first procedure, did it right then and there. Today I went in and saw Julie! I've never been to Evaluer Medspa before. It came highly recommend by my best friend who has been going there for a while now. I have been to a few different offices for Botox or fillers. Some that are very expensive plastic surgeons offices that are supposed to be the best in the area.
