DO NOT GO HERE they scammed me!…read more I was recommended by a friend to buy jewelry from here while I was in Seattle. I was told I was getting VS1 diamond earrings and was happy at first. Then recently my backing of my earrings kept falling out so I went to my personal jeweler back home and he told me it was actually SI diamonds. He personally showed me all the imperfections (clouds) in my diamond - SO MANY FLAWS, it was so embarrassing. THIS JEWELRY STORE NOT ONLY OVERCHARGED ME THINKING I WAS GETTING A VS1 DIAMOND EARRINGS BUT THEY LIED TO ME ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THE DIAMONDS. Save your time and actually go to a jewelry store that doesn't lie/ scams you.

He really took his time in helping me figure out what size I should resize to. I came back the next day and it was unfortunately still too loose for me. I'll definitely be back for other things. Highly recommend it!

I did not request any cleaning service nor was I informed in advance of this. I came in for an estimate only. Even you seem to agree in your response that it would make no sense to clean something someone is trying to sell - which is exactly why being told I had to pay for it was so shocking. This has nothing to do with being unhappy about a lower offer. I went to another establishment the same day and received a significantly different experience and pricing without any surprise services or pressure tactics. I have no reason to fabricate what happened. I simply shared my honest experience so others can make informed decisions.

Many visitors and shoppers tend to have an emotional connection to Kobo, formerly known as Higo. I…read moream one of those people who calls it Higo, before I will remember it is in fact Kobo now. Higo is the original shop owned and run by the Murakami family. This is one of the few businesses that survived the Executive Order 9066 written in 1942 with thanks to the non-Japanese friends of the family who owned businesses in the same building. Today, Kobo represents a new generation of local artists, selling gift items, crafts, tees, books, art, jewelry, and much more at varying level of prices. I highly recommend Kobo when shopping for unique gifts. When I recently visited, they had a glass artwork on display, art gallery style. It was also the yearly Nihonmachi celebration, and they had a table outside with an artist painting one of three designs on classic Japanese windchimes. I was thrilled to buy one of these adorable windchimes commonly featured in anime including Studio Ghibli movies. They are the original jewelry store prior to everyone else. I have been doing business with them since 2006 after my fallout with another jewelry store in close proximity, who I was doing business for decades. I regret not doing business with this place originally. In my experience i would like to inform every yelper that if you are looking to buy gold for personal use or investment, Their Gold is almost as pure as a gold u.s. minted coin.....Please keep in mind i said ' almost ' There are other unique pieces besides gold and most ladies and men will quite frankly have a nice selection. They can even custom make any jewelry piece if you desire as well. Diamonds are a girl's best friend. Why not try here first, prior to the other big establishments, i am sure you will get a better stone at a much much better price. As you get buzzed in you will see a cute quiet old lady who have done business here in China Town for so many decades and had one simple philosophy. Treat customers right. Treat customers with honesty. Give customers the best deal possible and still stay in business. Yelpers I am slow to let you guys all know mainly because i wanted to ensure that I will be sending you to the best of the best. Of course i also wanted to keep this place a secret for myself. Yelp didnt exist til recently so there was no way for me to let anyone know vastly anyways. I hope you will heed my mistakes and learn from them just as i did. I hope you will cherish this place like I do. I hope that you will find something beautiful to bring home one day.

I did extensive Yelp research and talked with three jewelers before selecting Kevin Crane to do a…read moreslight repair on my solitaire band. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to buy jewelry or have it repaired. Despite that Kevin's sense of humor initially set me on guard (I'm a bit serious and don't tend to like salespeople in general), I found that he was the most responsive, knowledgable, and affordable (within a very thin margin) of the three jewelers. And in the end, he was really the only one of the three proposing to hand deliver just what I wanted. I was recently bequeathed a family heirloom solitaire diamond ring. Heirloom meaning it has no barcode, but can only be identified based on mapping its very slight imperfections and based upon its overall dimensions, weight, cut, and other characteristics. So, after hearing about jewelers swapping out stones in family jewelry in the past (and it taking lengthy processes to recoup compensation for the wrongdoing), I was admittedly wary of anyone working on this ring. However, it needed to be partially restored, because the crown's six prongs were in danger of no longer holding the stone due to normal wear and tear and also apparently some slight damage. Kevin helped me to select a new platinum crown and replaced it, setting the diamond slightly lower than before at my request. He also thinned and polished the band at my request (to better match my wedding band). All of the work was done within three weeks and looked stunning upon pick-up. And, when I had the diamond re-checked at the gemologists that originally appraised the ring, they confirmed it was in fact the same stone - not that I had any doubts once I saw it again - but just so you know, there is evidence that Kevin is just as trustworthy as he attests to being. I also witnessed him talking to a young couple looking for an engagement ring, and heard him providing them highly accurate information about diamond clarity and color scales. They had apparently received some very odd scale from another jeweler. So all in all, he does great work and has exceptional integrity. I will be taking any future work/transactions to him.

The shop is beautiful, the selection was lovely and the service was great. It was exactly what we were looking for! Now, I have to say that we did not book ahead, we just dropped in, which I recommend doing. We had previously made the huge mistake of scheduling an appointment with the other place in Bellevue (which requires a credit card), so when we decided we didn't want to purchase anything, we got charged $25 (for looking at their bracelet selection for like 5 mins!), which felt very predatory. I've noticed that permanent jewelry places often require some type of deposit, which is completely ridiculous. I am not sure whether Storica has the same policy, but since we just dropped in, it wasn't an issue at all. Their jewelry is beautiful and it wasn't hard to find something we both loved. I totally recommend this place and will be back if I decide to get something else.
