Double Smash w/ Truffle Cheese Fries
Karena S.

Was visiting a few friends and I stumbled upon the Wednesday $9 double smash burger with fries that the restaurant had promoting. We decided to give it a try since it was such a steal. We walked into the restaurant and stood there for about 5 minutes until someone greeted us. There were a few staff members that were serving food to other customers and just stared at us without acknowledgment. We kinda just stood there and stared back at them hoping they would seat us. We were finally greeted after another party came in and held the front door open since there wasn't much room to wait. Our server was great! He was extremely attentive to us and gave us great options for appetizers and drinks. I ordered the $9 deal and was able to upgrade the regular fries to truffle cheese fries for only $3. The burger was juicy and saucy and the fries were crispy and had a great truffle taste. I would go back again but maybe only take-out.

I love Eureka! We eat there a lot! I always enjoy this seared salmon with the exception of this particular meal. It was seared so lightly that the middle was completely pink/raw and a little too lightly cooked for my liking so I didn't try it. Usually, the seared salmon is cooked to perfection not too much not too little, but it is cooked thoroughly all the way through. Everyone has an off day or an off night, super busy, overwhelmed and overworked, so I didn't really see the point in making a big deal about it. Had salmon been cooked as usual? I have ZERO doubt I would've loved this combo as much as, or more, than the salmon, fingerling potatoes and seared green beans. Which is my usual go to at eureka & it's delish! (Do wish they'd bring bk the mashed potato option tho!) comfort food always trumps fancy fingerlings for me.

The Al Pastor Fish Tacos were a good, light, yet hearty dish to pick.

Gotta come back and try the burger options. The vibe was cool here and you can see this is a hotspot on Saturday nights. All of the photos looked good but what I saw. The vibe was cool, staff could've a little more attentive, but it was late and they were pretty busy. But I still tipped solid.

We've been wanting to try Eureka! out in our area but hadn't had the chance, so when we spotted one on our trip to SLO we stopped in for dinner. The atmosphere is chill, and the staff were all very personable. The starters were quite small, but tasted amazing. Especially the brussel sprouts. Our mains were portioned well, and everything tasted really good. Prices were reasonable at best, but it's 2026, I don't think we're finding many deals anymore.

I could literally eat everything on the menu. This place is soooo good and the desserts are even better!! The service is great and it's a super fun spot with it being in downtown and in the middle of the night life.

Solid choice for lunch or dinner. We popped in early afternoon on a Wednesday and were seated almost right away. The hostess and server were friendly and attentive. The tomato soup and grilled cheese was delicious - the soup was really thick and good for dipping. The southwest salad was filling even without protein. Highly recommend.

We needed a place to watch our WNBA Champion Las Vegas Aces play basketball while we were in SLO. We walked downtown and walked right into this great place. We decided to sit at the bar so we could have a good seat for the game. The bartender was so nice and made sure all the TV's had our game on. This restaurant is a nice size and has a great location on the corner of Churro Street. Patio seating allows for one to people watch and enjoy the fresh air. A great menu including shareable plates, burgers, handhelds, knife and fork, salads, desserts and sides. They also have a HH during the week. I enjoyed a nice, cold beer and my daughter had a mimosa. My husband was leaving us after the game to drive home so he just had a coke. I decided to order the Fish and Chips and so we could share it. The Fish and Chips were served with smashed potatoes and the mahi mahi was just so fresh. My daughter went with the All World Breakfast Burrito minus the bacon since she is a vegetarian. We both really enjoyed our meals. Parking is a challenge and on the street or you can drive to locate public parking in a lot. We walk to downtown as much as possible to avoid the hassle. The vibe here is so relaxed and we had good service. I will definitely return here next time I am here in SLO as I saw some other interesting food I would like to try on the menu.

Was here for a celebration. My daughter and I split the crispy, roasted Brussel Sprouts, which were yummy! They had a slight kick (spicy), and they disappeared pretty quickly. We also both got the Southwestern Salad which was delish. My daughter had the Ranch dressing which came with it, and I asked for a clear vinaigrette, that was excellent. I got the Mimosa Flight, which did not disappoint. Our server, Rick, was super friendly and attentive. The only negative thing I can say, is that the bathrooms need a deep clean. They are NOT up to standard in an eatery. They could use a bathroom remodel as well, though that's not the responsibility of the restaurant. Other than that, it was a good experience!

Great burgers, great staff and great drinks! I had been passing by this place for years and so glad I went in and tried it. It's a perfect spot for a lunch with a friend or dinner with coworkers. I recommend trying a burger and cocktail.

Eureka! American

We ate lunch at the Eureka! in SLO. Everything about the meal was great, from start to finish. We were seated near the window and the street view was lively... Lots of people watching, which is always fun. Hubs wanted a beer, but wasn't sure of which type he would like. Our server asked him a few questions and offered a recommendation for the Andersonville Boont Amber. He ordered it and loved it! Great recommendation! I ordered a diet Coke and the server also made sure my glass was always full... Refill after refill. Thank you! After considering the menu, I ordered the American and hubs ordered the wagyu Burger. Both were delivered as ordered and were delicious. Our server returned to check on us, made sure we had everything we needed, and asked if we would like to order dessert. As soon as we were done with our meal, our plates were cleared and the check was brought in an unhurried fashion, but also quickly. We appreciated that. We were in and out in under an hour and never felt rushed. We would return to Eureka! again. The server tipped us off to join the rewards club and we would get 15% off our bill the next time we came in. Which we will do next time we are in slo.

If you're for a chill place with great tasting drinks I highly recommend it. The bar tender was great!

When I called, the staff was incredibly helpful and connected me with Caitlin via email. Not only did she respond quickly, but she was also kind, flexible, and truly accommodating throughout the process. From the moment we arrived, everything was handled seamlessly. Organizing a group of our size is no small task, but the team managed it with professionalism, patience, and genuine care. The seating was thoughtfully arranged, service was efficient, and every member of our group felt welcomed and taken care of. The food came out in a timely manner, was well-prepared, and absolutely amazing! It was so nice to see everyone enjoying their meals, and it really added to the overall positive experience. Even when we decided to order dessert at the last minute, the staff remained gracious and accommodating. We are incredibly grateful for the effort and flexibility shown to us. The menu is a little on the pricier side for what you're getting but always worth a taste and try!

We ordered the famous tri-tip sandwich, the Firebird, and a half-and-half basket of fries and onion rings. To be honest, we were both a little disappointed by the tri-tip sandwich. They give you a generous amount of meat, but the flavor was milder than expected, and the meat itself was slightly tough, which made the sandwich less enjoyable overall. The Firebird, on the other hand, was unexpectedly delicious. It is basically two chicken tenders in sandwich form, but the fresh toppings and Thousand Island dressing brought everything together perfectly. The true star, though, was the fries and onion rings. Seriously, just get them. We had not planned to order them, but the cashier convinced us and guaranteed we would not regret it--and he was absolutely right. The fries were definitely on the salty side, but in the best possible way. The onion rings were my personal favorite and easily the winner of the meal. Tasted similar to a 1,000 isle type dressing. 3) three pea pizza: buddy doesn't like goat cheese so ordered it on the side. Crust was great, veggies fresh & colorful. It really needs the goat cheese though. Otherwise it lacks dimension. I was able to sprinkle on my pieces. Made a world of difference. 4) bee stang: crust had crisp edges. It's one of those things where you don't know what you want but every menu all looks the same. We finally tried it out for dinner after a weekend in the wine country. The restaurant is right in the heart of downtown SLO next to the park and riverwalk. We had an early reservation at 6 on a Saturday and let me say the place was packed. The outside patio was completely full which was nice to see. Checking in was easy with the hostess. All was sweet and made it fast and simply and we were seated right away without having to wait for the whole party to arrive. Menu wise, a bit of everything but they specialized in paella's. And that was had. Our waitress Kaitlin was the sweetest. Right from the start, she was a major doll. Made sure we were taken care of throughout the whole dining experience. Started off with a bottle of red for the table. A good selections from their menu. Then a few small shared plates for the table. An order of the bacon wrapped dates, Brussels sprouts, Peruvian shrimp ceviche and the gambas al ajillo. First off the dates, very tasty with salty and sweet. A good bite size with about 6 piece. Then the ceviche, nice chunks of shrimp with all the trimming. Cucumber, red onions, tomatoes , avocado, cilantro and chips. Then you have the sprouts which is pretty self explanatory. Roasted to a nice crisp with golden raisins and almonds. Pretty decent and delicious. Lastly the gambas, sautéed shrimp in paprika garlic and white wine sauce with a Parmesan slice of sourdough bread. Everything was delicious and a good start to an amazing meal. I do recommend the starters. For our entree, even though we started off with loads of the shared plates. The mains all looked amazing. Clearly we had to have the paella which they're known for. There were couple options in them but we opted for the mix which was a combination of the seafood and meat paella. Let me say it was massive and clearly more than enough for four of us. The nice big chunks of seafood and meat which they did not skimp on. The flavors and the whole combination of everything together, chefs kiss. It was pretty massive as well. Of course we couldn't just stop there, we also had the lamb chops with frites. Cooked perfectly and very tasty. The hanger steak with chimichurri sauce accompanied by roasted potatoes and sautéed broccolini. That dish was excellent and steak was cooked perfectly. Lastly, I believe it was one of their specials the sea bass. A nice thick and flaky piece of fish on top of a red sauce of tomatoes, olives. The flavor was excellent and worth it. The food was excellent and it was a surprise when there were leftovers. We may have over done it with the extra entrees after seeing the massive platter of paella. But every dish was excellent and worth it. The service was great with everyone involved. Friendly staff and excellent customer service. The food and wine were great. The whole dining experience was top notch and greatly enjoyed. We will definitely be back. At least we know about the paella now...lol... A must and highly recommend. We got 10 start off with. I personally got a paella as it has been forever since I had it. *brussel sprouts- 4.5/5- one of the better versions of brussel sprouts I have had in a while, they were beautifully roasted, they retained their character but at the same time were delicious instead of tasting too healthy. *fingerling potatoes-4.5/5- potatoes tend to be tasty any which way they are cooked. The standout in this version was the finger licking sauce it was doused in. *paella- 4.5/5- I got the chicken paella. It came with a soft jammy egg. The dish had 75% protein and about 25% rice. The rice at the bottom was nicely crisped up. The chicken was in large chunks but surprisingly non funky and wonderfully flavored. I stole some of the sauce from the tacos to amp up this dish further. 4.5 for the food, rounding up for the good vibes and great ambiance!

After finding 4 other options, all the others cared about was: which one is closest and which has the highest stars? Ultimately I picked the one that had the most variety. My brother-in-laws kids are very picky. Like, pizza and chicken nuggets are all they really eat. And my in-laws are picky in the other direction. They like nices restaurants and my father-in-law likes to critique other people's cooking, especially BBQ. Anyways, as we are walking up, you can tell very quickly that this is a fairly fancy restaurant. In fact, if it was warmer outside, we would have opted to sit beside the fire. It kind of made me wish we had come here at lunch to take advantage of the beautiful view. If I have the opportunity to come again, I'll definitely try to plan it around lunch. I think my wife was expecting the worse initially because she stood at the front waiting to be helped. Meanwhile, I took my son to the restroom and came back while she continued to wait. Not a minute later, we get greeted and we put in our group. I think she took that personally. We were kind of a large group. 11 in total. Still, the wait was less than 5 minutes. Soon we were ordering drinks and appetizers. The elote corn, guacamole and chips caught my eye. The elote mostly. It was a disappointment though. It was basically cheesy cream of corn. The brussel sprouts on the other hand, were great! My daughter felt they could use a little salt. I would probably add pine nuts, but thats about it. What surprised my wife was the SLO burn mixed drink. Appropriately named because it was spicy, made with habanero infused tequila. It was spicier than the jalapeño inspired drink my father-in-law had during lunch. For our main meal, my wife and I had our eyes on the same thing. I just knew she was going to want the prime rib dip since French dips are one of her faves. As a compromise, we decided to split it and the short rib grilled cheese sandwich. To my surprise, the grilled cheese, which was more hot sandwich than grilled cheese, was better. When dipped in the tomato soup, it was even better. The prime rib dip was good, but the grilled cheese was great. What's funny is that 3 people in the group ordered the Korean beef salad. I snatched a taste from my daughter. I thought it was really good. I'm just a sucker for Korean food in general, and the dressing had a nice citrusy taste to it. Probably the nice twist we didn't expect was the live singer. The women in the group were familiar with most of her songs, and they can appreciate a good singer since singing runs in the family. All in all, this was a great spot that I hope to try again in the future
