Anyone on the highways will always pass a Cracker Barrel. If you've never stopped in, give it a go. If you have, then you already know what I mean. I have two "go-to" menu items that I go for one or the other. Momma's French Toast Breakfast or Momma's Pancake Breakfast. I always get a side of their sausage patties because they are phenomenal on their own or, if you're like me, they go great with Cracker Barrel Maple Syrup. The French Toast is light and plentiful. It doesn't have cinnamon which isn't a problem for me, but some people just don't like cinnamon. Although I'll never understand those people, they have a right to their own personal tastes. Butter and Maple Syrup complete the meal beautifully. Cracker Barrel Pancakes are their own. The recipe is good but it's the preparation that is the key. I suspect that they are made on the griddle with a lot of butter. The outside of the cakes are almost fried-like with a little bit of crunch to them. Like the French Toast, the Pancakes paired with generous amounts of Butter and Maple Syrup make these an absolute dream. Cracker Barrel serves Breakfast all day long. They do have Lunch/Dinner items as well, but I've only had a few other things. I can say that their Fried Chicken is also outstanding. They've also got a lot of great sides to choose from. And, if you like, they also have a selection of alcoholic beverages to choose from. I can't list them because I've never ordered any. Given that I'm usually on the road when I stop in, and I'm typically eating a breakfast item, alcohol doesn't mix well with either driving or breakfast. The service is pretty much the same at every Cracker Barrel. Fast and friendly. They have a system down for what they're doing and it seems very consistent from location to location. And then there is the Country Store. If you have a long wait for a table, you'll be able to amuse yourself and kill time by going through the Country Store. You'll find everything from classic candy and toys that you didn't think existed anymore, to clothes, John Deere merch, food, holiday gifts and much more. Would I go back? After going on about it for the last 5 minutes, I want to go back now! Cracker Barrel is great for a quick stop while on the road when you simply don't want fast food garbage or it's great for a family/friend get together. No matter your tastes or eating habits, they will have something for everyone.

Right on the water, a good place to relax, eat a dog, and the geese swimming by. Screams nostalgia!

This is definitely my favorite place to grab some quick food, and you can order online or over the phone which makes it even faster. The chicken shawarma is AMAZING!! The hummus is to die for and made right there in the restaurant, falafel, cheesesteak sandwiches, honestly, I haven't tried anything that I didn't like. They also have a kids menu with items like, chicken nuggets or gyros with fries in smaller portions so that your kids can share in the deliciousness that is Eureka Eatery. The customer service is amazing, they're very helpful and accommodating, I always leave feeling more than satisfied. If you're looking for fresh, delicious food and a warm, friendly atmosphere, this is definitely the place to go. read more

This place rocks!! Found it when I was doing some fieldwork for school; used to tease the DOR about eating "gas station" food then one day he brought it back. I was like "what is that???" He replied gas station food. I went there the next day and fell totally in love!! Even though it's 40 miles one way I've been known to rationalize why I deserve to treat myself and make a special trip there. Any time I'm in Monroe for any reason, even if I've already eaten I go there and stock up on rice bowls and hummus. I've never gotten anything from there that isn't fabuous!! Still a good gas station. Lots of things to buy and a well- curated liquor department. Will always stop for scratchers and stuff. Still miss the donuts that brought me here. Love the pivot. It makes sense. But when we are at Ex.18, we end up at Northside and sit outside to watch traffic( or no traffic) and the weather change. And we order burgers. Personally, we eat enough chicken at home. And if you have chickens running around... they kinda become family(until they stop laying). And everyone has lots of eggs!!! We are pretty rural at heart! Where do i start! This is definitely one of my favorite places to eat at in Monroe, they have such a wide selection on their menu with 3 different kinds of fries to choose from that all have different toppings on them... yes I said toppings, who would have thought Feta cheese on a French fry would be good but oh my gosh they are amazing! Growing up in Houston, Texas where every culture is represented, I've eaten at many Greek restaurants. This one is at the top with some of the best. The gyro was meaty without being greasy, and had a fresh tzatziki sauce that was perfect. Their pita is fresh made, and incredible as a dipping appetizer (they pan fry it - completely delicious and tastes homemade). The taste of the sando is good but the portion is not right. The sandwich is noticeably smaller than what it is normally and only 1 chicken tender in the sandwich that only fills half the bun. The sandwich use to have a piece of chicken that filled a larger bun. This is disappointing. Unless they make the sandwich how they use to make them we will not go back. It's too bad.
