He is intuitive and firm yet incredibly gentle, and I'm able to just surrender and let him work his magic. Welcome/Greeting: 3 stars I was immediately greeted and checked in but she called me by another name at first and did not give any other welcome or orientation. I had to ask about the restroom and she did tell me (not show) where to go. Bathroom facilities: 3 stars. Relatively clean and functional but only one toilet and no "amenities" like other waxing centers might have. No complaints but no bonus points either Service and service provider: 5 stars Kristin is wonderful and there is something amazing about EWC wax. Less pain than other facilities. There's room for improvement but with an amazing service provider and a superior wax product, the other items seem a little trivial.

Finding a good salon is like dating. I've had to go through several mediocre experiences (or "bad…read moredates") to find the right place and the right stylist - but finally, I found my match. Salon 6 is just north of the main Broad Ripple village off of College Ave. My favorite thing about this salon (other than the haircuts I get) is the overall atmosphere. It has a small boutique vibe that is relaxed and unpretentious. The staff is always friendly and accommodating and offer you a drink of choice while you wait. The waiting area has a little bit of a New Age feel with some beautiful stones and crystals and local artisan jewelry. It immediately feels very relaxing. They have a few complementary add on services you can choose from, and I especially enjoy the Vitamin D lamp in the winter when I'm missing the sunshine. My stylist, Heidi, has given me some of the best haircuts I've ever had, hands down. When I booked my first appointment with her she took the time to talk about what I wanted and ask me questions. After allowing my hair to grow for a couple years and really doing nothing with it, I was looking for a "long shag" cut which I had asked for from other stylists at other salons that never seemed to turn out the way I envisioned it. Lucky for me, Heidi is spectacular at shag cuts and also specializes in razor cuts, which can be difficult to find. I told her I was ready for a change and to go for it and the results were even better than what I had in mind. Since then I've received multiple compliments on my cuts with an added comment "that's the kind of cut I've been wanting and I can't find someone to do it right!" My visits are always pleasant and relaxing. I never feel pressured to chat or make small talk, but when we do it's easy and laid back. I always leave with a fresh cut and style that makes me feel like I just treated myself to something luxurious without the feeling of a stuffy, ostentatious "luxury" salon where everyone leaves with basically the same haircut, color, extensions, etc. Salon 6 not only meets what I'm looking for in a salon experience, but Heidi takes it to the next level with her killer haircuts.
