The hot chocolate they serve in the colder months is delightful The lemon satin crème truffle is my absolute favorite along with their chocolate drizzled brittle. Effff that stuff is like crack! The Cactus Gardens are amazing the botanical gardens are so well maintained. What an incredible experience loved looking at all the gardens benches everywhere to pause and relax enjoy the beautiful peaceful gardens. We did the chocolate tour afterwards so delicious really fun to watch them make the candy. Godiva has always been my favorite but the chocolates here were better. Everyone who worded there was welcoming friendly. The gift shop was great and the cafe Jill in the gift shop was so kind. Wonderful place to spend some time the vibe inside is so great. For Valentine's Day and for mine and my LTP's birthday this year (our birthdays are just six days apart from each other), my parents decided to book a wine and chocolate pairing with us at Ethel M. My parents did this with my best friend's mom and stepdad during the holidays and they enjoyed it so much that they wanted to do it again. They didn't have any tasting openings on the 14th and after the 16th, so we booked for the 13th and considered this an early Valentine's Day/birthday gathering. We got there early (where we sampled some delicious milk and dark chocolates upon entering by a welcoming receptionist named Lawrence) and hung around the lounge area until it was time to go inside the tasting room. Before the tasting began, we watched a short video of how Ethel M got started, what to expect during, and the introduction of chocolatier Mark Mackey. Our tasting host was Alan, who slipped in some jokes here and there during to keep all of us entertained. We were given five different wines and five different chocolates to try out, which included a taste/texture guide and an aroma/flavor wheel. Chocolates included were Bananas Foster, Peanut Butter, Guajillo Pecan Caramel Rupture, Blood Orange, and Kona Espresso. My favorite of them all was the peanut butter; when tasting this with the wine, it was exactly like I was eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. My best friend's mom's idea was to take half a bite of a chocolate and then take the rest home for later; my mom suggested this to us but I ended up finishing it all (except for the Guajillo one, my least favorite). As a thank you for partaking in the tasting, we were offered a 15% discount for Ethel M's entire store and free access to the botanical garden display. I learned this trip that the botanical garden is only decorated semi-annually; Valentine's Day and Christmas. Having lived in Henderson since 2000, I think this was only my third time visiting Ethel M and the botanical garden. The walkthrough was short, but all the lights and decorations all around made it even better! Oh yeah, and we took some chocolates home too using our discount cards. We couldn't forget that! One coincidence happened here and we didn't know about it until the next day. It turns out, my former coworker's daughter was in the same tasting class as us and we didn't even recognize it until she saw my photos on my IG. How crazy! Anyway, the tasting was a new and interesting experience. If you haven't tried it yet, I'd definitely recommend it! YES to this place! For the chocolate store: Love their high quality chocolates, service is always so friendly, and you can really buy a box of whatever you want here. Prices do seem high for chocolate but let me tell you it is very high quality and worth it. I love the liquor filled chocolates and their best-seller lemon cream chocolate bar is very good too. We bought a big variety box of chocolates are the holiday and everything in it was good. When you walk around this store depending on the time of day, you can see chocolate being made and get one free sample. Fun. The Cactus Garden: During Christmas time it charges a small amount but is well worth it. So beautiful and glowing! A must do Christmas attraction! I heard they may do lights or something festive for Valentine's or a few other times a year but I do not know if that is true or know much about it. The free factory tour is open (M-F 10a-3:30p) per their website. We visited during Tuesday morning and received 1 free chocolate sample each (dark or milk choice). They have large windows where you can look into the factory and see the chocolate making process, as well as the workers at work. It was neat to see. We had a very fun and enjoyable "chocolate and wine tasting" experience and then enjoyed a free visit to their Christmas lights in the cactus garden. For the tasting, the wine selection is actually better than the chocolates. I know chocolate flavor and tasting are highly personal and intricate. However, it will be better if cocoa percentage is higher and they don't just give in to sugar. The garden during the holiday season is so beautiful to visit. It's decorated with 1 million lights and they designed it very well. Many photo ops corners and Santa was even there! The service for the tasting and all around are friendly and positive. The annual cactus garden holiday lights is nice. The entry fee is reasonable. The parking is challenging. There was a line formed and it took about 20 minutes to get to the security check point. You read that correctly. There is a security check in. They check purses and use metal detector wands. Did not expect that. There was then another line to stand in to pay to enter the garden. Ethel is the true definition of high quality, expensive chocolate. If you're willing to spend some money, I'd suggest the chocolate tasting seminar. Without the alcohol, it costs $25. It features 4 of their chocolates and a nice presentation of their history. Note that this tasting seminar gives you 15% off their items for the rest of the day. the tasting seminar was a little bit pretentious but very educational. So although not a 1 to 1, they sell a 4 piece chocolate for $14. Thus, I did the math and found that if you spend $74 ($63 after the discount) worth of items, it would be as if you bought all of the chocolate for normal price and got a nice presentation for free. Thus, that means you'd spend $88 on chocolate and get a free presentation; and everything you spend past $88 would be the true discounted price. There's a self guided tour which is basically just a long wall of a transparent glass that lets you see into the whole chocolate making process. All of the workers were quite helpful and amiable. They also have a nice, small garden you can walk through. I hear it looks lovely during the Christmas holidays. What I find most piquant is their ability to make flavors I don't like taste good. Note that if you got a sweet tooth and want to know what high quality, high calorie chocolate tastes like, I suggest buying something from them. read more

I love going to Ethel M Chocolates Factory & Flagship store. It is always amazing. I was actually gifted a small box of cacti in 2010 that used to be sold in their store. Most of them lived over a decade. I still have one alive from that box, now 15 years old and still thriving. Sadly, they don't sell those boxes anymore. Anyway, there is now a Tasting Room experience. There is still a free self-guided tour that comes with a free milk or dark chocolate. There's a small restaurant that had ice cream, milkshakes, cupcakes (we got 2 delicious red velvet cupcakes - yummy stuff, highly recommend!!), candied oranges, and chocolate covered marshmallows. There's are 2 truffle counters that have a variety of individual chocolates including plain, caramel, nut, creamy truffle, crispy, and liquers. There's an array of chocolate goodness- truffle boxes, chocolate bars in a variety of flavors - we got milk chocolate & caramel bars. They also had gourmet cocoa tins. As lovely as the inside & all of the chocolate divinity that is on offer - the outside is a treat for the soul - an incredible cactus garden that is free to walk through. We were there on a windy day when rain was forecast (but didn't come down while we were there), and so the path was nearly empty. There was only one other couple walking the paths. We walked, we gawked, we took selfies & many photos, and we sat on a bench and just hung out for awhile - it was an amazing experience!!! Highly recommend!! The lights for Christmas were being strung, but weren't lit yet & the garden was all the more enchanting without the Christmas lights. I loved every minute there! Every visit to Ethel M's feels like a treat. My most recent visit on 10/2 felt no different. We were on a mission, to help my husband find some nice treats for his colleagues for an upcoming work trip. Upon entering, we were greeted by a friendly employee offering us a taste of either their milk or dark chocolate. Is there a better way to be welcomed than to be offered free chocolate? I don't think so. In addition to buying some treats for the hubby's colleagues, we left with some of our own - a red velvet cupcake (discounted to $2 which was an hour before the store closed for the evening) and 3 of their chocolates from their fall collection - Milk Chocolate Red Velvet Truffle, White Chocolate Pumpkin Spice, and Milk Chocolate Cinnamon Apple Caramel - all delicious and perfectly evocative of fall. A few years ago, we tried their chocolate tasting experience too, which was fun, yummy, and educational too, so I'd encourage anyone interested in that to give it a go. Wanted to go to this place for so long, but just waited for kids to be little older. Still if you have younger than 7 years old, maybe it is not so great idea to go, coz they can run away quickly. Anyway, we went ther on Thursday night. No lines no waiting bit there were still a lot of people inside the garden. Admission is 4 dollars per person, kids are paying to. The garden looked amazing from far but when you come closer it is even better. All those trees and cactuses with lights and decorations looks amazingly festive. It is a real pleasure walking in between those while Christmas music is playing. A true joy and Christmas spirit is in the air. There is little kind of like playground area with fake grass and food truck where you can buy some sweets and hot chocolate/coffee. Kids were running around in between tables, there is also mobile restrooms which was super clean. I wanted some sweets but the line was huge. So we continued walking. When we enter inside the chocolate factory, it was amazing how you can see the whole process of making chocolate through the glass. Kids really loved this part, and also they got free sample on entrance. Inside there is a shop where you can buy chocolate. I wanted to buy something but I was shocked that each and every chocolate had Bioengineering food ingredients so i didn't want to pay so much money for that. Great stop for Christmas vibes and delicious chocolate items and hot chocolate. Wish they offered oatmilk or alternative milk for the hot chocolates. We got the large Mexican hot chocolate and the peppermint. We also got the chocolate covered pretzel sticks and oranges. They had everything and it was really fun to watch behind the scenes! My absolute must stop every time I'm in Vegas... even if you fly through, they have a store in the Southwest Terminal and also in American. If you're flying Alaska just take the underground tunnel over one terminal! They sell perfect souvenir sized bars for co-workers and kids. During the day is definitely the way to go so you can tour the cactus gardens and see all the beautiful plants that they have. We recently had a chocolate & wine tasting at Ethel M. The curated class, which included videos was informative. The White older lady that lead the class was nice, BUT, it was annoying when she panicked & said that my three year old son had to sit on my lap coz the tasting was sold out; and, therefore, no extra chairs. When the class began at 5:30PM (promptly), HALF of the attendees didn't show up. There were plenty of empty seats!! Aside from the seating "issue," the chocolates enmeshed amazingly with the wines. My FAV combo was the peppermint white chocolate with Zinfandel - so tasty with delicate flavors. The irony was that I NEVER crave nor purchase any white chocolate, lol! The Cactus garden was splendid with lots of photo spots. And the admission was only $3 PP, which was beyond reasonable! The only caveat was the line to enter the garden was very long. read more

Adventure Lab brought us to the Cactus Garden, we had no idea there was a chocolate factory there as well! What a wonderful surprise! We walked up the ramp viewing the chocolate factory, although nobody was working, past the dipping station where a group of amazing young ladies greeted us then on to the store for some eye gazing! We returned later for our chocolate tasting and wine pairing and were treated to the beautiful Christmas Wonderland in the cactus garden. The chocolate is divine, the staff is wonderful, the history during the tasting was new to us and the Christmas lights were very nice to enjoy on a crisp evening. We also easily completed the Adventure Lab by answering a few questions about the cactus in the garden. This chocolate is delicious! We didn't intend to come here on our recent visit to Vegas but our friend who took us to lunch said he recently visited, and enjoyed it. What a treat, literally! There are multiple Ethel M locations but he wanted to take us to the one with the chocolate factory tour and the outdoor desert garden. We didn't do the tour due to time constraints but we did taste some chocolates and wander outside through the small garden. It was nice outside and quite pleasant. Our friends had never been, so we booked the fall chocolate and wine tasting experience. It's one hour, and today we tasted four gourmet truffles expertly paired with wines. (Brownie Batter was outstanding!) We strolled the cactus garden which seems to get better every year, ending our visit shopping for attractive and delicious gifts. We'll be back for the holiday lights, of course, if not before. Next year I want to try the different seasonal experiences, as apparently I missed the summer Mimosa pairings! The staff was lovely and attentive, and everything was spotless and well lit, with plentiful and free parking. TBH, my only feedback is that I felt the pricing, "patter" and experience were leaning heavily towards tourists. The Ethel M Botanical Cactus Garden is absolutely stunning during the holiday lights display. The light installations are impressive and make for a memorable evening. It was quite hectic I have to say (yes, it is the weekend before Christmas too). The crowds made navigating the paths a bit challenging. I have anxiety and felt overwhelmed by the amount of people, especially inside the shop area. The line was also long to purchase a hot cocoa. I even noticed some hot cocoa spilled all over a fabric seating area, which just comes to show busy the venue was that night! It was still a great experience and I'd recommend it for a stroll on your own, a date night or even family night out. While the candy is expensive, you can tell it is of high quality and worth the splurge for a treat. The hot cocoa is rich and decadent. I did get some candy to go too. While it was crowded, it was still really nice to have something sweet and see the beautiful lights. I didn't realize you could make cactus so pretty LOL! read more

The chocolate shop was open till 10pm when we visited this past Sunday in mid-November. The place got crowded later into the evening. But that didn't stop us from enjoying some treats from the Cactus Garden Cafe, and puchasing a customized box of chocolates, with dark chocolate almond and macadamia clusters, coconut and peanut butter filled chocolates, and more. The double hot chocolate was crazy good, with the perfect sweetness and decadent chocolatey flavor. The chocolate covered strawberries were just as delightful, and so addicting, my fave! The chocolate marshmallow was sticky and delicious. We finished it all. Service was friendly and helpful, and staff even gave away free chocolates as guests walked along the windows to view the chocolate factory, quite an amazing sight. The Holiday Cactus Garden Lights costed $3 per person, and was cool, but nothing too extraordinary about the exhibit. The cacti on site were quite beautiful on display with the lighting. There's also a food vendor and tables/seating within the garden area as well as photos with Santa. A nice family-friendly atmosphere. But if you don't have kids, you might wanna skip it, and spend the few extra dollars you save on chocolate instead. You can see a lot of the decorative lights from the outside anyway. read more

Their holiday lights ended today! January 4th is their last of the 2024 season. So spectacular though. Great lights set up throughout their cactus garden display. It's $3 per person, which is reasonable, and also all of it is donated to a local group. Fantastic place to walk around, and the most affodable light show in the valley! Chocolates are pretty expensive in the store, although they do give everyone a single "taster" light/dark chocolate piece. There's also one item that offers 20 pieces for $20 of those "taster" pieces, which we found to be the best deal they had. Hot cocoa was DELICIOUS!!!! It was the busiest we'd ever seen it, last night, even more so than last year, which we skipped, but the lines were very long last night. Like theme park lines long. We've been coming for years, dare I say it, decades, two. Hubby parked, and met us at the line, and he couldn't believe it. Yes, it was very long, but we waited. There is a security check. And a bag check. And there were lots of security guards inside. Good thing we kept our receipt because an employee started randomly asking for it. $3 entrance fee, BTW. We made a couple rounds. It seemed way less crowded outside than it was inside, where everyone was purchasing hot chocolate. There was a line to wait to take pictures with Santa, outside. And don't forget to get your free piece of chocolate inside too. These are individually wrapped, ever since Covid. Year after year, we come, and it is so nice to see the lights. They do a wonderful job with it, year after year. Nice scenes. I really like the large ivory colored angels. The newest addition seem to be numerous Christmas trees, with Govee lights.
