We have been on a journey to find the perfect couch for our new home since April. Upon the July delivery of a custom piece from a D2C "millennial" brand, we were completely distraught by the disaster that was ultimately unpacked in our home. After several months of immensely delayed, response from the company and finally a confirmation of full refund and pick-up of the defective couch, we returned to our journey of finding a better alternative. As we all know, the furniture industry can be a bit nuanced. We visited various retailers, from EQ3 to Walter E. Smithe, BluDot and Jayson Home, Arhaus, you name it. We ran into some pushy salespeople, some weird ones who insisted they follow us around, and some who emulated what felt like a used car salesman back in the 90s (the type you see in movies). Needless to say it was a rather stressful experience. We met Jason last week at a visit to Ethan Allen. And while we ultimately decided to go an alternative route (Ethan Allen's price points were a bit too rich for us), I am inclined to share what an amazing asset Jason was during our visit. He was incredibly hospitable, knowledgeable, easy to get along with, and patient with us. His follow up was timely and not aggressive whatsoever. He communicated the benefits of spending $X amount on a couch perfectly, showed us the workmanship of the design and the commitment to quality Ethan Allen provides. If the couch we were eyeing wasn't so far from what we were looking to spend, we would have ultimately landed on the option he provides. While we unfortunately couldn't reward Jason with our sale, if we only had deeper pockets, he would have without a doubt earned our business. read more

We purchased a dining table with chairs, and a desk with file cabinet drawers among other items. We ordered a dark stain on the table and desk and we have had nothing but problems with it. The stain began to wear on both items within 6 months, everywhere you would rest your arms, the edge or pull a draw etc. Ethan Allen sent out a repair person. They were able to fix the table...for about 2 months, then the wear began to reappear. I finally bought a glass top for the table...ugh I hate it. We are just living with the desk as is. It is beyond disappointing to buy supposed quality furniture and deal with this. At the very least you should not do the dark stain. read more

ZERO customer service. I had purchased Hunter Douglas window treatments from this store. Unfortunately I had a service issue that required a repair. I first called on October 1, 2025 to request service. After repeated calls plus a call to the manufacturer, I have received not one call or email from the so-called operations manager at Ethan Allen. The customer service person at Hunter Douglas even called on my behalf and asked them to call me. Still - nothing! How does a global corporation like Ethan Allen even exist without supporting its customers??? If you're thinking about purchasing anything from them, think twice. Worst retail experience ever. Ordered couches several months ago with assurances that they would be delivered within a day of my move in date. Associate Stephanie messed up the order and sent the couches to WI instead of Florida. Brennan the manager is laying low like she has warrants. Several calls and still no answer. I want my couches tomorrow. If I were the president of Ethan Allen, would you jerk me around like this? The couches are in a warehouse two hours from my house. Get them to me. For the record, I also purchased several items from the oak Brook store and the team there was great. Get me my couches tomorrow. You are only as good as your weakest link. read more

After waiting 6 months for our mid-century dining table and 4 chairs, less than 6 months of being in my home with regular use and cleaning the table top is cracking and peeling! Called customer service who sent a representative to assess the damage and was told he could not repair it due to the design of the wood. He said that because it's real wood, water destroyed the (apparently thin) veneered surface. Really? Had I known I would have purchased a glass top! I was told that because I did not purchase an extended warranty I'm stuck with peeling furniture that the rep says will worsen over time! I've owned real wood dining tables from Ashley and Dania and have NEVER dealt with a peeling finish! Now I see why they were pushing purchasing an extended warranty to cover obviously cheaply made furniture! read more

Don't do it. In no way should you buy furniture here without a strict guarantee that if it doesn't work that you can return or exchange it. Wait, that's the problem. They don't care if you're happy in the end. They are one and done happy with your money. It's overpriced hotel furniture and you will be sorry you wasted your money. We ordered a table and chairs because absolutely nothing is in stock. Everything you order is then deemed "custom" even though it's just cookie cutter furniture. The furniture doesn't work in our space. We did our best to measure and mark the floor. My father owns an antique store and we absolutely took returns. I have decades experience in this industry and we tried to buy what we thought would work. It took 5 months to get our furniture. We're out over $5,000 and of course now it's absolutely worthless. We couldn't get $500 for this set in the secondary market. They would not do anything. No store credit, no restock fee. NOTHING. Do not reward them with your hard earned money. Here's an update 2/16. We called corporate after being told we were out of luck. They called our sales representative at the location and made him offer to exchange the table. The table wasn't the problem. It was the chairs. We told him that repeatedly. He called my wife after reading this review because he was upset and asked her to convince me to take it down because he did offer to do something. Actually, he didn't do anything. Corporate made him offer to swap the table and it wouldn't make the difference. The set doesn't work in our space. The idea that this was some sort of magnanimous offer and that we should be placated is another reason you should not shop here. Call again Ethan Allen. This review will just get worse. read more

Ethan Allen stands behind beautifully made furniture. I have been buying from them for years now. This review is really about outstanding service from design specialist Barbara and mover Felipe and his guys. I moved yesterday. To my horror the moving company we used couldn't get my couch up here. Nor would they spare me a minute to call EA. They left my leather couch 4 flights down in a hallway AFTER THEY SAWED THE LEGS OFF! Barbara came to immediate aid, effortlessly and graciously. I want everyone who has a business to have such gems like her and subsequently Felipe. He matched her kindness and concern. Barbara and Felipe asked for photos. And with just those images, made assessments and got my couch up here. Timely. Lovely people do to business with. Kind to me in tears. I would give those two a a million bucks if I could. So we said we'd be fine checking out the store ourselves and she informed us "the best route" around the store. UGH!!!! We could not get out of there fast enough. High pressure sales! Better to shop at Oakbrook or other suburban store. You will see more product and pay lower taxes. If you are buying a large amount of product, it's best to shop around and even go direct to manufacturers online. Go online and choose your designer before walking into the store and getting one via roulette. read more

I ordered replacement inserts for my sectional I purchased several years ago. Some of the new inserts were the incorrect size which I could not believe since Ethan Allen knew the make and model of my sofa. When I called Ethan Allen and finally spoke with a supervisor, she offered to come to my home and confirm the size of the inserts. Upon confirming the incorrect size of inserts, she took the measurement of my sofa and ordered the correct size at no charge. Although it will take several weeks to receive, I am extremely grateful the supervisor took the time to take care of my concerns. Her service was amazing. read more
