Walked in to look for dining chairs. Toddler was thirsty and we asked for water. Lady in pink jacket said they do not have water bottles, only a fountain and pointed to the back. Toddler was struggling to drink and a kind lady in the back offered us water bottles, which are for CUSTOMERS! Also another customer was brought out water bottles. I'm unsure if that was laziness or she genuinely did not want our business. We were very put off by this and left. read more

I have been Ethan Allen customer for 23 years and have many beautiful pieces in my house from them. I didn't need anything for the past 5+ years, but now I need roller shades and curtain hardware for one room. I went to the store and the rep was nice to introduce Jenny to help. Jenny came to the house quickly and gave me one quote but when I said I may not be able to afford both, she just lost interest and I never got the quote for the shades. I have contacted her twice and still no quote. I'm disappointed because I never got such bad service from such a great company. They just lost a long time customer. read more

We love how Ethan Allen has continued to grow with current design trends but, without Stephanie, we weren't compelled to go back to our local store. Then, we searched for Stephanie thinking maybe she was still with EA and found her in Atlanta! Now that we're back in contact, we couldn't be more thrilled - Stephanie has an unparalleled and individualized approach to home design we haven't found anywhere else. Very, very disappointed. I can't begin to explain all the failures of this company. This was a $50k spend so trust me when I tell you it's not the Ethan Allen of old. Some of the furniture was definitely more like an Ashley's in quality but somehow retain the EA pricing. I have pictures, so feel free to email me, and I'll be happy to share them. However, the biggest miss was the service. Absolute lip service and a deliberate choice to NOT make things right. Delivery and install of some window treatments took over 6 months. Ethan Allen did not care and seemed annoyed at any concern we voiced. This is at the store manager level. Once they were installed, it wasn't done appropriately. Again, email me, and I will send you some pictures. Maybe this was an individual store thing, but I have a feeling, it is systemic throughout the organization. They are simply cutting cost, decreasing the quality of the products, and advising their management teams to do nothing about unsatisfied customers while living off their reputation of old. But we consumers know how the story ends. Let's just watch the stock price over the next five years. I know I've sold mine, and will look for the first opportunity to short Ethan Allen. Luckily, we now have the Internet, and can share information (over and over) with many more people, a lot faster. Caveat Emptor! read more

NOT AFRAID OF COLOR! The last time I visited the Ethan Allen gallery it was filled with plaids, naturals and some rather boring options. I just thought of it as too conservative for my taste. However, today was an entirely different experience. Everything in Ethan is custom so that you can get exactly what you want and they also have in-house design services. With that said, if you don't get what you want it's your own fault. Today I was totally surprised by the beautiful colors, (in their living-room sets), that were offered in leather and fabric, (teal, orange, red). They had many sitting options from business leather, (formal erect seating) to casual leather, (soft and cushy for lounging) and we tried most of them. Everything was very comfortable. Although they carried many basic neutral pieces, they elevated them with pops of color. The gallery is a great place to obtain inspiration and to purchase primary as well as accent pieces for your home or apartment. Kathy provided great customer service today as she checked on us periodically throughout our visit and provided materials that we could take home for further consideration. This is a great store with great options. It has a higher price point than most but when you are purchasing furniture, quality is most important. Great store with great customer service. read more

We entered Ethan Allen's after shopping in a furniture store nearby, where we spent 45 minutes without a salesperson offering any attention. We must not have appeared to be serious buyers. At Ethan Allen's we were greeted at the door by Dawn Porter, who asked us a couple of questions about what we were looking for, then immediately took us to two pieces that were perfect! (We then looked around the rest of the store, because furniture shopping cannot be that easy, ultimately returning to the original two pieces.) Dawn gave clear translation to the foreign tongue of furniture construction and styles, while providing the right balance of guidance and space as we made our selections. Shopping during a sale, we found the prices reasonable, if not inexpensive, and we know we can count on the quality of Ethan Allen furniture. A great experience! (I cannot believe a guy is describing furniture shopping as "a great experience," but it's true.) read more

From our fantastic designer Dawn Porter, to the nice gentlemen delivering our new beautifully crafted furniture, we had a great experience start to finish. We bought a new home with a different style from our previous home so we needed some help pulling things together. My husband strongly believes in high quality American made furniture, furniture that will last us a long time. We have always known Ethan Allen to have a great reputation. We were so grateful to have met Dawn Porter the day we walked in to browse around. Dawn was so gracious to help pull 3 rooms together for us. She came to our house to do some measurements and to also see our style. We were looking for something stylish and classy yet something yet fun. Dawn nailed it! The patters, the colors everything worked perfectly with our style. There isn't one thing I would change about what we ordered (leather chair and ottoman, sofa and ottoman, dining table, kitchen table, 4 side chairs, 4 arm chairs, 2 rugs, 2 throw pillows and a bench for the dining table). I recently bought a sofa from Ethan Allen but discovered one major problem when it arrived- it was upholstered in the wrong fabric. It was navy, as I had chosen, but the weave was entirely different and far more casual than the fabric I had ordered. Since I had recently relocated from another state and had much on my plate, I made the mistake of failing to thoroughly research and report the issue for a couple of months. When I did go online, however, and discovered that the fabric was definitely NOT what I had ordered, the sales associate at Ethan Allen refused to accept responsibility or do anything to amend the problem, insisting instead that "we" chose the fabric. The only good news is that I moved with very little and need a great deal of furniture. I will not buy as much as a toothpick holder from Ethan Allen. read more
