He should have his license revoked. The instructor was unable to answer basic questions and got mad when I asked any questions. Calling the school is a nightmare, they are always on the other line, they say they're gonna call back but don't. They also said that they were gonna charge me a certain amount for the first class and another amount for the second one but that it would add up to what they said. I got this first lesson and then I hear nothing for the second lesson. I was basically robbed, don't even bother with this business. After I called the person couldn't take any responsibility for the bad business they do and who they send to drive with you.

Some points I found particularly impressive: 1) they took her on the highway for the first time, this felt safest for us all (having someone who could take over if needed at high speeds!) 2) on one occasion they pulled over and instructor drew on paper how and where to begin a turn in an intersection. this visual demo really stuck with her and was helpful. 3) on her last lesson, they drove to the DMV test to get test day specific help including where to go, what roads they might be driving on, what are some areas others often get tripped up. there were other examples of really helpful lessons but I cannot remember. I also liked that this company in particular was incredibly easy to book an appointment with! others I found were booked out too far in advance. they also always showed up on time and used the full lesson time. Yancarlos explained all the rules thoroughly, took me to the test area to drive around to make sure I understand the possible errors and prepared me in every possible way. I thought this was weird, but honestly, I just needed the lesson for dmv purposes. Fast forward to several months later and I try to book the last 2 lessons. Because it's a new year now, the male on the phone said the price had gone up. I understand. The price went up. But I already had made a pre existing agreement with Lindsey, so my initial quoted prices should be locked in and honored. I already had the first lesson. The male on the phone was very insistent that even though I had spoken with Lindsey on pricing, I still have to pay the new increased price. Now how is this fair? I'm still waiting to hear back from him...so we shall see how great of a company they are....or how money hungry they really are.

The difference with William was night and day. A friend recommended William when our second child was ready to learn, and I am so grateful they did. He takes time before and after each lesson to explain techniques, review what was practiced, and clearly outline what to work on next. He truly prepares students for the driving test, including sharing specific insights into what test administrators are looking for. Because of his thoroughness and thoughtful approach, I feel completely confident recommending William--even to my most selective friends. Here are his strengths and weaknesses: Strengths: Very knowledgeable and friendly. Good car. Explains concepts clearly and knows the routes the DMV uses. Weaknesses: Is easily excitable, which is a dangerous trait to have as a driving instructor. Make a mistake and Bill will get nervous, raise his voice, and start repeating himself. This will get you more nervous, and decrease your confidence and focus. Understandable perhaps for big mistakes, but it occurs with minor mistakes too. This bothered my wife so much she did not want a second lesson. I decided to give Bill another shot, but on the second lesson he got so insufferable I had to pull over and ask him to calm down. I recognize he is concerned with safety, but he tended to make situations worse. On top of all this he has a heavy accent, which sometimes hinders communication.
