You will not be greeted when you enter and you will overhear the office staff talk openly about claim information that makes the waiting room uncomfortable. Our first visit wasn't so bad, but they were unable to do my child's fillings, so we reschedule. An empty waiting room and it still took 13 minutes to check my daughter into a room. Seated by 12:46. Not until about 1:07 does the dentist come in and numb her mouth with esthetic. We start waiting. I look inside her mouth and don't see the "cavity". Last time I was told two fillings, two cavities. Today I learn it's the space in between the teeth. When I look I see nothing more than a little dirt on the top her teeth. Well the dentist goes back with another patient and leaves my daughter to numb. He doesn't come back until 1:41 when I tell him I must leave at 2 because of work. They seemed to have no disregard for patient time. They do the filling in less than 9 minutes! So, they made us wait over 1 hour for a 9 minute procedure! Seems a bit odd. We are not greeted by staff again and no samples are given. Every dentist I have ever been to give toothpaste and toothbrushes to ensure future teeth hygiene. I look inside her mouth and the dirt I saw was filled! I don't understand why they drilled the top of her teeth that were not even a cavity. As parents, we are unable to see what the dentist is doing inside their mouth with all the tools they use, unlike a physician in which we can ensure proper injection procedures. Dentists can be drilling away at previous teeth and ruining them forever, when simple treatment or cleaning be rendered. This is a medical facility that does not care about the personal experience as only 2 people out of 8 were friendly. I regret coming here will never be back again. It is places like this that will ruin your child's teeth per mantels and tell you cavities exist when they haven't even began to form. Compared to my first visit, the friendly dental hygienist clearly had issues with the work flow of the office as they interrupted my daughters procedures to ask questions. Also, a facility with 8 waiting rooms is a HUGE indicator you will be waiting for a long time. The rooms are very open and again, it lacks respect for patient privacy. People forget that HIPPA still applies to dental and when someone is walking around saying room 6 this or room 5 this, people can see who exactly is in which room getting what procedure. Pavilion dental by food for less does a better job in less time if your looking for a local dental practice. Don't waste your time, other places will not treat you less important based on your insurance. Medicaid discrimination is real and you will notice it with this facility. The people whom you book the appointment with on the phone are a call center, they do not even work at the facility!!

The new owners, Dr. Johnson and team, require X-rays every 12 to 18 months , even though the ADA recommends X-rays every 24 to 36 months, unless there is a significant dental issue (https://www.ada.org/enmember-center/oral-health-topics/~/media/0666B35FBAFF4459814E5E635142638A.ashx). At my recent teeth cleaning appointment, I was told X-rays were MANDATORY and that the cleaning could not proceed without them. I explained that I was not interested in having X-rays since it had only been 18 months since my last set, and I've had no dental issues. Despite offering to sign a liability waiver TWICE during our conversation, the dentist refused and insisted on the X-rays. Being coerced into paying for an unnecessary service is both frustrating and UNETHICAL. Patients should have the right to make informed decisions about their care without pressure or ultimatums. This is based upon my experience of working in health care for 30+ years. Furthermore, the practice still heavily utilizes Dr. Iwata's name in texts, on their website, and in other communications, despite his retirement nine months ago. It is concerning that the new dentists' names and information are not mentioned on the website so patients can research where they went to school, work experience, etc. This reliance on Dr. Iwata's reputation and unwillingness to publicly attach their name to Dr. Iwata's FORMER practice, suggests they may be struggling to build trust with patients on their own merit. The staff, who formerly worked for Dr. Iwata, are excellent but without a competent dentist who values their patients there is not a reason to continue seeking care at this practice. Other changes include a $50 fee for canceling an appointment less than 48 hours in advance and requiring a dentist consultation at EVERY cleaning, resulting in additional charges. Under Dr. Iwata, cleanings were straightforward and did not necessitate extra fees unless the Hygienist found something of concern. Many times, Dr. Iwata would come in to assess xrays or my chart without charging a consultation fee. There are MANY excellent dentists in the area, so it is time to move on to one who RESPECTS patients, VALUES their choices, and builds trust based on their own reputation--not someone else's.

It started with the bright and cheery greeting we received from Heather. Then on to an hour appointment with Dr. Wang, she is the most pleasant, cheerful, thorough dentist I have ever met. She explained where she wanted my teeth to be (look healthy and happy) and how to get there. My husband, who is not overly fond of dentists, took to her right away. She has a lovely calming personality, always smiling and explaining. If I could give her 10 stars I would. My husband had a crown pop off last night, he left Dr. Wang a voice mail message and received a phone call this morning to come in at 11:00 (she is closed on Monday's) to take care of the crown. The treatment plan she formulated for me was conservative, fair, and reasonable, and there was not one attempt to try to upsell me. She taught me so much about my teeth and oral hygiene care in that initial visit. And like any good educator, she was transparent about the work she was doing and what she plans to do with my teeth. I found her to be so motivating and encouraging. As someone who has never been a consistently good dental patient, I really appreciated her approach. I went back a month later for a few fillings and she showed me (via before and after photos) how much I've improved in my oral hygiene and a few areas where I need to be more diligent.
