I ordered 7 crates of tile from Home Depot which were contracted out to Estes Express for delivery. Did not receive any communications from them at all, no text, voice mails etc. Received a notification the day before the order was due to be delivered that the product was returned, putting the timing of the entire project at risk. He was courteous, friendly, helpful and although Costco says they leave the item curbside, Gee deposited the 500 pound tub in my driveway where I will be able to have it moved around back eventually. Had a very expensive and heavy (1000+ lbs) machine delivered today by Estes and I'd rate it a 4.5. 1. The shipment time from Southern California to Everett was super speedy, with great detailed tracking that allowed me to excitedly follow along. Only wish was an ability to sign up for notifications so I wouldn't have to manually refresh the website every time I wanted an update. 2. I called the depot on Monday to enquire about the delivery process/time because Estes gives you a 5-day estimated delivery window that doesn't change as the package gets closer. So I knew the package was in town but the estimate was still for later in the week. The delivery service person I spoke to seems a bit taken aback or surprised about my questions so we went back and forth awkwardly for a bit until they finally entered a delivery appointment in their system for the next day. However they said it was possible the package would not be unloaded that day, in which case delivery would be on Wednesday. 3. I went from being very excited about this speedy shipper to being a bit worried that there were going to be issues with the delivery so I looked Estes up online and hooh boy the stories did not inspire confidence. I was officially anxious something was going to go wrong. 4. Once my delivery window (12-4pm) hit on Tuesday I called to get confirmation we were still on. The dispatch person (I think it was the same one I spoke to previously) was much more courteous this time and confirmed Glenn would be delivering my package. 5. The tracking never went to "Out for Delivery" but I was thrilled to see the Estes truck (a much bigger truck than I was expecting) pulling up. Glenn expertly maneuvered the truck to my garage and with a bit of patience got the package down into my garage. It barely fit the truck door and lift gate but he made it work. 6. The pallet the machine arrived on was damaged on one side (the supporting uprights somehow broke off in transit. But the machine itself was in perfect condition. I took the time to write this review because of all the , I'm sure legitimately, poor reviews I saw for this company. I felt I owed it to the universe to balance things out with this not-too-shabby experience. read more

Oh my god. Here I am, a millennial, creating a yelp account for the sole purpose of leaving a bad review fore Estes. I had asked them to deliver the parts for a Murphy bed which happened to come on a double long pallet, and these people sent a guy with one manual pallet jack to deliver it. Now this guy was dumber than a sack of bricks, and couldn't seem to understand the fact that a single PJ couldn't deliver a six foot long pallet, regardless of the fact that it could indeed lift it from the middle. Our friend who needs help couldn't understand why a six food long pallet couldn't fit through any door in my building, or to be blunt, any door in Seattle. So I had to refuse the delivery, and act like a total Karen, in so much that I called his boss. Cathy (with a c?) reinforced what had been said to me in so much that they only ever send one pallet jack out per truck, even though the first delivery man assured me that Estes delivers much longer pallets than mine. Thankfully, the next delivery man had an electric pallet jack, mind you dear reader, not a double long pj, just one that wasn't manual, and he pulled my delivery out onto the trucks lift. So, a little bit of backstory, I used to deliver freight, and part of delivering freight is being able to place the pallet on the lift (think parralel parking) and this guy pulls the nose of the pj off the end making me jump up and rush to hold it just to make sure that he doesn't get injured. Long story short, if the company you're ordering from uses Estes as it's shipper, ask if you can pick it up yourself, because a uhaul is $20 and I guarantee that you will do a better job hauling it yourself. TERRIBLE experience with shipping! I ordered a large heavy piece of furniture from Babies R Us and this is the company they chose to deliver the item to me. Estes dropped the crib off at the completely wrong address. It was a mistake out of pure laziness... the address they delivered to wasn't even similar to mine and there is no way GPS would lead you to the address they left the package at. They did not have anyone sign for the package; just left it at some random apartment complex!!! Somehow the apartment complex was able to track down my phone number and called me to let me know my package was dumped at the wrong address. I called Estes Express to tell them this and ask them to re-deliver the package to my address since the package does not fit in my car (besides the fact I paid for shipping and this is completely their mistake)... not to mention I am 7 months pregnant and cant lift a huge wood crib! They basically told me it was my problem and I had to figure it out. I asked how it was my problem when I had confirmed the correct address for delivery with them the day before. The gentleman on the phone finally back-peddled and said he could possibly have someone fix the issue but it wouldn't be until Monday (this was Thursday). I told him that was fine but asked that he please call me back to let me know either way. I never received the call back and was left on my own to figure out how to get this crib from this incorrect address to my place. Horrible customer service. Is this really how you treat a customer, by making a mistake then ignoring them? Let alone a pregnant chick during the holiday season? Disgusted. read more

Didn't show up in timeframe promised. I called the dispatcher. Unable to tell me where the driver was. Suggested that if he didn't show, I could leave a note telling him where to leave my items (!!). Poor communication from driver - Said in a voice message he was 30 minutes out. Showed up over 1 1/2 hours later! read more

I have had two experiences with Estes, both bad. The first time I called and requested a lift gate truck, prior to delivery. They showed up...no lift gate and my pallet was buried behind another pallet. Had to hand offload the entire pallet. This recent experience was even worse. They have LOST 90% of my order. Out of 20 cartons, they have 2. How does this even happen? The pallet was shrink wrapped when it left the vendor. They had no reason to break down the pallet. It is day 3 past my delivery date and I have no merchandise. I get no calls from them. No communication unless I continually call them. I am losing money every day, because this order was paid for and I have no product. They could not care less. I will not be using this company again. read more

When that didn't show up I called again and the new delivery time was 10/2. Terrible. I live in Seattle. I called a dispatcher to schedule a time to have them come pick up a wayfair couch I was returning. They gave me a 12-4 window. I got nervous at 3:40 so called and they didnt seem to know this appointment existed. The man sounded exasperated and said that people had been there 3 times earlier in the week and I wasn't home. What? First of all, I didn't call and schedule any of these pick-ups which is how it's supposed to work. Second, how do they know I wasn't home? I live in an apartment building and I didn't get called and I always have my phone on me. Moral of the story--call right away to schedule a window, and call at least once the day of to confirm. read more

I shipped a metal Watercraft Carrier via Estes to Everett WA. The Unit was shipped on a pallet and shrink wrapped all around. The unit arrived bent, scratched and twisted out of shape. The customer noted the major damage and took pictures of it. Estes admitted that it had been damaged in shipping. We made the customer a new unit and shipped the new unit up, and had them ship the damaged unit back to us for repair. They managed to put a fork lift through the middle of the unit, bending it even more then the first one. They once again admitted it was their fault and had me file a claim. They were going to pay the first claim until the second unit was damaged. Once I filed a claim, they came back with some rule, buried in their rules tarire ( a subnote of a note in the footnote of a page), that since the unit was not enclosed in a box, that they would only pay be .10 cents per pound for the unit. Each unit had over $2500. in damage... and they wanted to pay me $72.00. I had NMFC review the packaging and they said it was packaged correctly.... Estes still refused to pay......... Shame on you Estes.... Just admit that you damaged the unit and pay to have it fixed........We will NEVER SHIP with YOU AGAIN !!!! read more
