Had a $1300, 600lbs purchase from COSTCO online. Order was shipped on May 7th. Earliest delivery was today May 13th. I was informed back on the 7th that the order was shipped and I would have to have an appointment to receive shipment. I entered all of my contact info and waited. Today May 13th @ 5pm I got an E-mail from Estes Express stating that my shipment was cancelled. I called Estes and was told that my order was NOT cancelled, in fact the Estes home team had received it and was readying the delivery to me. About an hour later I went to check the status and now it says Attempted Delivery - Customer Refused. That is an OUT A OUT LIE! We were home all day, and I never received any call from anyone at Estes. Estes went so far as to send COSTCO a message saying that we had refused the shipment. I am hoping to recieve a call from Estes explaining this. COSTCO is being sent a detailed letter of what has happened. read more

I wonder if front door delivery includes leaving the shipping palettes in front on your customer's homes. I had a bunk bed delivered a couple of weeks ago and I was not home to receive it because I'm an essential worker and had to work that day. My elderly mother was there to greet the driver. He dropped of the box that contained my bed along with 2 shipping pallets. When my mother asked him why he was leaving the pallets, he replied "those are your pallets now, you bought them". I was so upset when I came home. He left them in front of my garage door blocking my ability to park inside of my garage. The pallets weigh twice as much as the bed that I ordered and we are not able to move them. My order clearly states that I have 1 box containing the bunk bed weighing 190 lb. I did not order pallets. When I called to ask the company to retrieve them, they were extremely unprofessional and said they could not pick them back up. I have no way of disposing of them and it will cost me to have my waste management provider schedule an appointment to pick up and dispose them. After this experience, checked out the Yelp reviews for this company and found an overwhelming number of one star reviews. Worst delivery company ever! I have been waiting for a shipment from Estes for 3 days now. Everyday they tell me the shipment is going to be delivered but then I fund out it was never put on the truck for delivery. Now today they said the delivery will arrive between 9am-10am. No Show!!! I called back, was in hold for almost an hour and then was told it would be delivered between 12:00pm-12:300pm. Well it's now 12:45pm and still No Show. On the phone (on hold) for 15mins now and was told they can't get a hold of the driver. Gesh! When is this nightmare going to end?!?!?I'm running two businesses and can not afford to Sit in one place for a delivery for three days and keep getting a no show!! read more

I never used this shipper before, this was apart of my Amazon order. However, When the item arrive it was a cabinet weighting 140lbs and I asked the driver if he could put in the basement. He reply, not by me. He then just lift the trolley and deposit a 140lb box just in my door way. He didn't even both to try to get it into the house. The driver then just set the second box, I didn't know that he had because he said nothing as I tried to get a 140lb box inside, at the front door. Sad attitude for a company/driver, who deals with an amazon customer with over $20,000 purchases or more per year. Received a call several days ago to schedule my package(a bookcase from Toys R Us for the nursery) delivery for today between 11 and 4, no problems there. This morning I receive another call saying that since Toys R Us has declared bankruptcy they will no longer deliver the package. I offer to pick it up from the terminal myself and was told they will not release it. They are basically holding all items from Toys R Us hostage. I even offered to pay them directly, in person, for the cost of the shipping and they refused. I realize they want to get paid but this is not the way to go about it. They only people they are hurting here is the customer, not the shipper. EDIT: Just thought I would update my review to show that I received a phone call this morning and was told Estes and TRU have worked out their problems and my package was on a trailer and would be deliverd today between 11-4. Hoping there are no more issues to report. Package has been delivered. Hopefully these businesses can work together a bit better in the future and not get their customers invovled in their disputes. read more

Now on our DO NOT USE list. We only had three companies on this list, and now have a fourth. They have been problematic with pickups in the past, where they have simply not shown up, mostly out of their Chicago terminal. This last time, though, takes the cake. Of course, they were a day late picking up, but this isn't the issue. This 2300lb shipment was going from Los Angeles to the middle of Montana. After a few days, I called having seen no movement at all to find that they lost the freight - that they had no idea where it was. Thanks only to a terminal manager in Riverside did I receive any assistance at all with this problem, but it wasn't because of him but simply because the freight was magically found in Las Vegas that it ended up getting closer to its destination. It goes from Las Vegas to Salt Lake City, where they promised me it was being marked HOT since it was already so late. This was last Monday. Since their agent does deliveries on Tuesdays and Thursdays to Montana, they told me it would likely get delivered the next day. Then, the following day, they tell me they just never transferred the freight over. Then, the following day, they tell me the freight was in Montana, just not unloaded. Then, on Thursday, the next day it could be delivered, they tell me that the trailer still had not yet been unloaded in Montana, and it could only be delivered next Tuesday. So, we're looking at a 2.5 week transit time from Los Angeles to Montana. More than that, they are impossible to get in touch with. My phone at this very second shows 15 minutes on hold waiting for an Estes agent. The funniest part about it is their absolutely obscene on-hold recording tells me I should rely on them for fast and on-time service, which is a horrible joke. In short, do not use Estes. During a pandemic we can put our hopes into something as insignificant as an above ground pool. When delivery is slowed due to shipping back ups it can make a mother of 2 cry to the poor lady that answered the phone. Trisha went above and beyond to help me get my pool delivered as soon as possible. It wasn't even her job to work to do this, she was just stepping in to fill a roll that needed help. I got a message back saying the driver needed to attempt delivery again with a lift gate. Does he have x-ray eyes to see into our building and see or not see a forklift? This is the worst company I have ever had to deal with. Absolutely horrible communication. Ordered a 65" flatscreen and it didn't show up until 6 days after it was scheduled to. They had an excuse everyday for why it didn't show up. They also requested that I was there for the pick-up so i missed time off of work just to sit around waiting for them to show up. When it finally arrived, the tv was shattered! Walmart sent a replacement through Estes and also scheduled Estes to pick up the damaged tv. They were late to deliver the new tv. They were also late to pick up the damaged tv. I finally called Walmart and had them send someone else to pick up my damaged return. I would give this incompetent company zero stars if possible. Ordered a expensive kayak, Estes delivered it with a fork lift fork puncture (6 inch) in the side of it. Called the kayak company who were extremely apologetic and sent out another right away. These kayaks come with the seats packaged separately. When the second kayak showed up the seat package was missing. I asked the driver where is the second box on the invoice and he said he didn't know and his demeanor really showed that he didn't care either. Another call to the kayak company to get another seat resent out. Haven't received seat, kayak is worthless with out it. Summer is almost over. Horrific. Our customer has told us to use Estes Express because they have a very low contract price. Last year Estes lost part of a shipment we made from our Los Angeles warehouse to Rhode Island; we filed a claim and it was ignored. Like just about every shipping company, it seems there are always the ones who drive the forklifts that are not careful about loading, let alone even care about what they are loading. I thought Estes was different, well they aren't. I had a Motorcycle 3-wheeler delevered, upon lifting up the box, what I saw was unbelieveable. The motorcycle was in a steel cage that was bent in enough to collapse the frame and bend the motorcycle. We are not talking about a few hundered dollar item, its more like thousands and it would seem they would have been a little more careful. I refused the delivery, who know how much damage was unseen, didnt need to have to deal with bent parts and frames. We will see how long it takes for claims and Ill reply with the results. read more

FAIL FAIL FAIL. I ordered a pallet of marble chips from Home Depot, along with a large appliance, ceiling fan and pole saw. Home Depot handled the logistics on everything EXCEPT the marble chips. Those were to be delivered by none other than Estes (not so express) Lines. When the order didn't arrive on the date expected I logged on to check for updated tracking info. There was no expected date of delivery anymore, and although the delivery address appeared to be the right number and street, the city and zip code were that of a neighboring city. Worse shipping company ever! Never even heard of this company before. Ordered my product on Oct. 3rd. I received a text indicating I would receive my shipment on the 8th. However, that never happened. Called Estes and they said my item was still sitting in Colorado! They went on to say to ignore these texts because they aren't accurate...REALLY??? Why send it out if its incorrect? They also said, once my package gets to my location, they will call and schedule a delivery! Can this process be any more difficult?! Seems like I'm not the only one with a bad experience. I got a call to schedule my delivery. My wife calls them back literally 2 minutes later and leaves a lengthy voice mail confirming the delivery for the next day. We don't get a call back, so my wife calls them 5 times the morning of delivery. No response, no call back. Finally, I call them during my delivery window to confirm it is still coming. "I'm sorry, we never got your voicemail." I explained that my wife even called 5 times. I was told he was able to confirm that she did call and their system showed a missed call. I asked if we can go ahead and have the package delievered (Keep in mind this is still during the delivery window that was agreed upon during the voice mail). I was told no. I offered to go to the terminal to pick it up. I was told no. So my very important delivery will be delayed another 2 days because they don't work on the weekend and can't be bothered to even meet me at the terminal to let me pick up the package. read more

Very well may get my package on time but not looking promising. My order was received in Salt Lake City, Utah last Friday and it's been in a status of "Awaiting departure from Salt Lake City, Utah" since last Friday and my expected delivery date was 6/26. Well that is now tomorrow and it's still "Awaiting departure from Salt Lake City, Utah" yet the date still says tomorrow. Considering Salt Lake is a 24 hour drive I don't see any possible way they could make delivery this week since they apparently don't work on Saturday or Sunday. Halfway during the shipment of this order I googled Estes Express reviews to see what was in store for me. I was pretty worried when I saw nothing but negative reviews. Makes sense though. Nobody goes all Karen online when shipping works out. This freight left Des Moines and showed up in Laredo on time and in the condition it was shipped in. If you are concerned about all the reviews just remember Karen. My broker uses this shipping company all the time and rarely has any problems. Secondly I was home alone when they delivered our closet pieces which are large and heave on a big crate. They just left it on a big crate in our drive way and when I asked if they'd carry the pieces in our garage he said no we would have to do that. hence, we ended up having to do it in addition to having to figure out what to do with this big crate sitting literally in middle of our driveway. Ordered a sofa and 2 chairs from Home Depot. Recieved a text the furniture would be delivered today by a company called Estes Final Mile between 11am and 3pm. Took the day off of work. I call 3 times checking on why our furniture was not delivered yet. The 3rd call I was told the office is now closed and that someone would call be back tomorrow. That someone at Estes Final Mile had changed the delivery to the following week the rep said there was no notes or explanation on why. NOT TO HAPPY! read more

I highly DO NOT recommend this delivery company!! We ordered patio furniture, from Lowes, and this company was contracted to deliver our furniture. We just received it, today, after MULTIPLE days of the delivery date being pushed to the next day. I thought to myself, "Okay. I will give them the benefit of the doubt, since Covid-19 has been causing many delivery delays". But, they just delivered my furniture and the box is damaged in so many places!! They left it on a pallet in my driveway and I came out just as the man was leaving. He couldn't speak english and just pointed at the box, mumbled some inaudible words, handed me a sheet of paper, and then proceeded to take a picture to prove delivery. If I could give zero stars, I would. I ordered a large item that came in a very large crate. The delivery drive came to my door and aksed me if I could help him get it off of the truck. I said no, that's your company's job. He told me he would have to call dispatch for advice. Dispatch told him to drop the crate on the curb. I told the delivery drive he will not drop my $2700 item on the curb. I told him the woman from the company left me a voice mail, stating it would be dropped in the driveway. I was instructed by the delivery driver to call dispatch. I did call dispatch, and talk to Matt. I Told Matt I do not understand why they would send one elderly man to handle these extremely large heavy deliveries. Matt stated one driver one truck. I told him that I have a voicemail stating that they will drop it in the driveway. He told me they would drop it on the curb unless I could find someone to help the delivery driver. After I hung up from Matt, I got a phone call from a woman at the company. She's the one that left me the message. She claims that she did not tell me that it would be delivered to the driveway. I told her I have the voicemail I could forward it to whoever wanted it. She wanted to argue with me. I ended up hanging up. The customer service is absolutely horrible. And they put their drivers in a terrible Position by having them deliver these large crate with only one person. I feel really bad for the driver. He told me this was the second extremely large shipment that he had to ask the customers to help him with. Shame and his company are only sending one driver out. If this company cannot handle large shipments, they should not except them. read more

Bought a gun safe from Home Depot, they shipped it through Estes. Estes managed to get the safe to Chicago in a week, then decided it'd be best to ship it 6 hours in the wrong direction. It's a good thing that I was paying attention because their in-house records indicated that my safe should go to Luckey, OH. My address on the order is in Davenport, IA. To the point of this statement, had I not known that residential freight requires a phone call to schedule the appointment, my $200 order would have been delivered to the wrong people entirely. Now I understand mistakes are made, but there's such a thing as owning up to ones mistake and making up for that with great customer service... Which I would say is severely lacking in both Home Depot and Estes. When I ask them how this happened Estes and Home Depot explain that the "Vendor" called (ironically at the same date and time that I called) and pointed out the mistake. Yeah, that was me that called, not some random "vendor". Ok, so now I know the people I was talking to are just a bunch of lairs. They could at least has some sympathy and work to prevent the order from going 6 hours in the wrong direction! Maybe? Nope, "sorry sir, that order is loaded on a truck which will be transported to Toledo 36 hours from now." Ok, well... remember customer service? Go and unload that truck and get the package off. I wish I'd had the choice in who to use for my shipping company, but Home Depot picked this absolutely atrocious service out on my behalf. Awesome. We bought a THOUSAND DOLLAR BATHROOM VANITY on 9/22 and are still waiting for it to be delivered. It was supposed to arrive before 10/4. We were out of town 10/4-5 so those dates weren't an option, but we asked for the vanity to be delivered literally any other day as long as it wasn't during 9-5 hours. They flatly refused to make this work on any day or weekend. My husband took today off of work to wait for the delivery, which we confirmed and re-confirmed this week would be delivered between 9am-1pm today. 2pm and nobody's here. Those are all problems enough, but getting in touch with this company is near impossible. I've left NINE voicemails (as they never pick up the phone at the local office) and have only had one ever returned. The last voicemail I left was cut off because their mailbox was full. I called again today about the late delivery and it rang without ever sending to a voicemail - it's like they've disconnected it. I can't believe Home Depot would continue to use such a horrible service. I can't say I'll ever order something big from THD again solely because I can't stand the nightmare Estes has put us through. Writing a review apparently lit a fire under some. Estes PA rep and a customer service rep responded. Furniture company owner who used Estes to ship also none to pleased. Delivery was then scheduled for the next day between 10am - 2pm. So hung around a third day in order to receive shipment. At 11:57am we received a message (automated email) that the order was delivered. Well, nothing came to our house. Shot off another round of messages to all parties. After a half hour decided to take a drive and found our order dropped off 12 houses down the street. Delivered to wrong address and verified since we had a copy of shipping document that indeed it was listed correctly. Again, relayed this information to all parties. Its important to note that this day was a rain filled day. Our shipment was now in the rain for over 2 hours. Finally received a call from the local trucking service (guess these are the folks that Estes uses for their final delivery) that the driver has been called and he is returning to deliver to the right address. This order is on a pallet weighing 530 pounds. Two hours after the original delivery notification and nearly 4 hours in the rain we see the driver walk up our driveway. But he does not have the shipment. He cannot get it back into the truck, too heavy. Options are call a second guy from his company to help - or I chose to go down and help push it into his truck. We get to our drive and help push it up to our garage! Although driver was apologetic this was a bad experience. 3 days of uncertainty on an actual delivery date, then wrong address delivery. Fortunately, the furniture company had bullet proofed the shipment. Even with 3 plus hours of rain it was dry and excellent condition. Anything less this shipment would have been destroyed. Estes rep in PA was diligent in trying to get this resolved, of course the PA furniture maker is a valued customer. We're sure this had much to do with getting things resolved. We did receive a personal call from the COO of the Estes Final Mile company to apologize and happened to be a local resident. He made a visit this same day to personally apologize. It was an appreciated gesture. read more

I personally think that them and Old Dominion have a dare going on between them as too who can be the most wreckless and destructive freight company in the US. Received s pallet today delivered by them, total wreck, a single falling apart pallet stacked on top of not one, but two other falling apart pallets. Looks like the Leaning Tower of Pisa filled with damaged product. For the record I always specifically ask that NONE of my vendors ship to me from Estes. Obviously they screwed up this time and now will get the joy of shipping me my replacement material at cost and with a reliable company. I repeat, I always specifically ask all of my suppliers or vendors never to use this companies services for good reason. There are many other trucking companies out there that actually give a rats ass about your customers and also your merchandise. I suggest using one of them because it surely isnt Estes. UPDATE: Please dont bother responding to this review, rather than chasing your tails and doing clean up.
