So glad we stopped in Morro Bay after dunebuggying over the sand dunes in Pismo - Estero Inn made our short stay in the Bay quite special. Washing all the sand out of my hair was a luxurious experience in the big, clean bathtub. I appreciated the lighting too - so many high-end hotels fail to install dimmer switches and are too bright for my taste. I also loved the fireplace and balcony - such a good deal! We were planning on staying at a chain motel since we came into town so last-minute w/ no reservation or much of a budget...but Estero Inn was a fantastic surprise. Being right on the water was also a treat. They've thought of all the details - your choice of down pillows, or firmer ones in the closet; complimentary chocolates and bottles of water in the room; and even the adorable "towelephant" (a elephant expertly crafted from hand towels) who welcomed us to our room - this place was romantic, perfectly clean and I would not only recommend it to family and friends, but also hope to stay there again. read more

We were pleasantly surprised. The suite is clean and very accommodating. The bed is super soft and comfy. It is right on the water and has a great view of the bay and the rock. When we walked into our room, it was obvious that is was freshly painted by the smell of paint. We did have to open the slider to air it out. Not a complaint... I appreciate the upkeep! The bathroom was super clean too! It is walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. I would definitely return and recommend this Inn. read more

Did I tell you that I am in love with Morro Bay? It was our first visit and I can assure you, it is definitely not our last. We had the Sunset Suite and the view was amazing. The suite was very roomy, clean, and bed was comfortable. We were able to sleep with the patio door open and listen to the waves and boats all night long. Stayed for two nights starting Valentines Day 2016. Young lady at desk (maybe Jenny?) was very nice and check in was quick. She showed us to our room. We stayed n the Marine Suite. Jesus that room is huge! It's also the accessible room so roomy walk in shower which was nice. Great view out one window at Morro Rock. While not this business we did get couples massage at the spa there and were very happy. Breakfast was simple and really I think the basics of continental for those needed a bite before leaving as the entire street has food. We appreciated food and holiday recommendations of staff. The room was clean and cleaning staff nice. My only criticism was the beds. That room has two and both were squeaky and a little lumpy. Will we stay there again? Yes! My boyfriend and I were celebrating his birthday and I got the birthday package, it included champagne, strawberries, chocolates, balloons, cake and candle made of towels and a card, it was sweet! What a wonderful place to stay in Morro Bay! Clean, charming and right on the water. We woke up to the sounds of seals, birds and sea otters. Great views of the harbor and of Morro Rock (but only if you are on the north side of the building). My wife and I came here for a weekend away from the kids and were blown away by the cleanliness of the room, the nice fixtures in the bathroom, the fireplace (gas, not woodburning). Complimentary breakfast was excellent. Only downside was that even with the patio door open and the screen closed, we were unable to get any real airflow into the room, so it got a bit warm...but no big deal; crank on the AC and all was good. REALLY BAD PLACE TO STAY! We had the Kelp Room for 2 days this weekend. Both nights we had a huge fishing boat docked right in front of us with its diesel engine on all night and day. The lady at the front desk said it should be quiet by 10 last night...24 hours later it is still running. They have a new commercial setup next door, this suck big time!! For the price you do not expect an industrial dock. Avoid at all costs, it is like a long haul flight in United Economy... Really bad! No one at the front desk, breakfast is poorly setup, some fruit and muffins and out of coffee by 9am. Run, run away. Bad Place, Bad Karma. F read more

We were driving through town on a foggy Monday night wanting to stay close to the water. Drove by Estero Inn and the front desk gentleman offered a great suite with a fire place and bay view at a fair price. The room was brand new basically with all really nice details, bedding appliances, small kitchen, nice bathroom with big tub, fire place, the perfect antidote for tired travelers. The Estero is right on the water/ bay so if the sounds of occasional barking seals and seagulls isn't your thing, you should go up the hill. A very quite and peaceful rest ( great bedding) ensued and we were greater the next morning with the sounds of the bay and some nice in room coffee. After a quick run around the bay we found set in on the complimentary continental breakfast in the common area with a great little eating room with a great view of the rock. The cool, down to earth owner and staff came in and made waffles with us and chatted, felt like a bed and breakfast kind of thing. We checked out and it wasn't until the next day I realized I had left some beloved clothing in the room. Now, most places I've experienced would never go to this extent in fact they'd play dumb etc.. The staff actually called and asked if I'd like them to mail me my clothes! Pretty rare and damn cool in my book. Sure enough the day I returned from our road trip my clothes were it the mailbox. So overall really great experience. You should patronize this place and other cool small business owners. Two thumbs up! PS... my only caveat, the place needs a little soul that matches the historical soul of Morro Bay. I've been going to Morro Bay for a long time and recently stayed 2 nights in the Ocean View Suite and loved it! All my dealings with the staff, prior to and during my arrival, were wonderful. They were so friendly, attentive and pampering, and updated me on one of the best places in town to eat (and they were right!). Enjoyed breakfast every morning (the choices are boiled eggs, fresh fruit, OJ, waffles,cereal, yogurt, etc.) before hitting the town. My room was quiet and very comfortable, with great wifi. The seals out in the bay do enjoy talking to each other, but they seemed to simmer down around 11pm. Wonderful view towards the Rock from this room. I'd stay again in a heartbeat.. Estero inn is a good place to stay in Morro Bay with walking distance to the waterfront strip. The front (bay side) 4 units are the only desirable for us. However, for the price, the breakfast offerings are not very good. read more

This was our first time in Morro Bay, and we loved it. Our room at Estero was very comfortable , modern, and had a great bay view. This is a great little hotel. I believe there are only 8 or 10 rooms in the place. It is in a great location away from the main part of town but close enough to walk there. If you head south there is a nice little park and marina very close to the hotel. The sunsets were incredible even though our room faced away from the Morro Rock.. And a terrific room addition--a wall heater/air conditioner with a remote control and timer. Made keeping the room temperature pleasant very convenient. The bed was comfortable. We stayed for 3 nights in the Sand Dunes room, middle of the south side rooms with bay view. The south rooms are next to a working dock with a crane and tugs that were noisy in the mornings and often woke us up when they started there engines or went about their work. In addition, the building that serviced that dock look amazingly trashy and looked to about to fall down. Keep in mind I consider these minor points expect for the noise - and actually, the noise from the other guests were just as bad - which was surprising given the sound proofing the hotel manager spoke of. Of the 6 top floor rooms, only the south and north corner rooms actually offer a usable view of the bay; the others offer a minimal view with very small decks - don't think you'll hang out there. Only good for having a smoke if you are into that. The rooms themselves are a bit small, but nicely appointed with qualify furniture, good bath room, comfy beds, fridge, microwave, wet bar, and flat screen TV - NO HD though, all TV programming via a cable provider is SD - kinda a waste of a good widescreen TV. The fireplace worked well with a flip of the switch and was able to keep the room warm on its own. Service was top notch, responsive and friendly. Some final points: I know that hotels, since 08 in attempts to save money have been on this kick to "save the planet" and reuse towels, etc. This is nuts. At Estero it was weirdly expressed. They often took the towels we left on the bathroom floor and simply rolled them up and put them back on the towel rack. The wash clothes were left wherever we left them after use and we had to go ask for fresh wash clothes. It was terrible for my wife to come out of the bath and state "my towel was damp, I think they just re-folded the ones we used yesterday". I mean we are paying $250 a night and we have to be on them to replace our towels? Location was ok, as noted above, next to a working dock was no fun; it's south of the "action" on Embarcadero Street, but so everything was a short walk to the North, not a big deal. But the Andersen hotel is in the middle. Breakfast consisted of the standard fair - nothing special, better than you'd get at a chain hotel, but not as good as any actual B&B we've been to. Lastly, the free WiFi was worthless. When you could connect, you could actually get access to the Internet. Don't expect 3G service unless you put in cell in the window - which I did to tether to my laptop to get Internet service. The manager blamed this on the sound proofing - but not was clearly not the problem. Overall, I'd say it's overpriced. They need to step up on the breakfast; fix the WiFi; try to get the dock guys to lay off the noise in the morning and lastly, just replace all used towels without being asked or prompted. If I were to visit Morro Bay again, I would try to stay at the Anderson Hotel first. read more

Excellent service, great rooms and quiet. Our stay was worth the time and effort we spent to find this jewel. After staying at the Tickle Pink Inn in Carmel we drove to Morrow Bay and stayed here. We stayed in the Bay View sweet which was very tiny with a horrible view. Maybe it was because we had just stayed at the Tickle Pink Inn the night prior (which was the best hotel we have ever stayed in) but we stil felt we could have got a much nicer room for the price. Also, we had to walk quite a ways to get to any night life. We will not be staying here again. read more

We were recent guests at the Estero Inn and highly recommend it. The inn is centrally located, has excellent views, and is immaculate. The room was pristine and one could tell that the room was furnished with impeccable taste. We enjoyed the fireplace, view, and the beds were super comfortable. Customer service lives! We had a misunderstanding on whether we'd need more sheets/blankets for the "pull out futon". When I called for them, it was after hours, but Jennifer returned the call immediately, and without hesitation, said she'd be right over with sheets & blankets. We travel often and this Inn is at the very top of our list. It is charming, friendly, and convenient to many restaurants and shops. The water views from the well appointed, cozy rooms and the close proximity to the water feels as though you are on a ship. What a get away! If you are in the area this special Inn is a must. We celebrated part of our anniversary weekend here and they surprised us with roses, sparkling wine and a bag of taffy. All of the staff exude a pride that is easily felt and unusual. Came to celebrate my bday with bf and spring break. Stayed during the week M-W. Staff is extremely friendly and respectful. Upon arriving we received a free upgrade from bay suite to sand dunes suite, we got a fire place! had a nice view of bay and docked boats. The room was clean, felt new and heard no noise from the outside or other rooms. Bed and pillows were comfy even the water to shower felt good! breakfast was basic, loved the waffle maker.
