If you're on the hunt for a traditional French bakery with authentic French and European pastries, desserts, and breads, you will happily walk out of here with a bag of wonderful goodies. When you walk in, you'll come across a tempting display case piled high with their baked goods. I saw platters of croissants of every description! Plain, Chocolate, Choc/Raspberry, Almond, Almond/Choc, Croissant Donuts and Croissant donut holes. But wait there's more! Brioches, chocolate Plies, Pinwheels, fruit turnovers, Cinnamon Rolls, Coffee Cakes, Danishes, Beignets, Scones, Fruit Tarts, Palmiers. The list goes on and on and I haven't even gotten to their cookies, macarons, baguettes, rolls, challah, cakes, quiches, and sandwiches. Seriously, you can have three meals a day here for a month and never duplicate anything. When I walked in, the dining room was pretty busy with customers enjoying a late lunch. The ordering line for baked goods was around five deep, which gave me plenty of time to check out the goods. I ended up with a nice assortment of a chocolate croissant, a chocolate Plie, a fruit turnover, donuts, and a fruit pie. We had some of the goodies last night and a bit more for breakfast today. The chocolate plié was amazing, and honestly, everything we've tried so far has been great. Easy FIVE STARS, n'est-ce pas?

They have their own parking lot in front. You're close to the mall and some good stores close to Trumbull. The donuts are hot and like cake. They also have coffee and cider. You can sit inside. This place offers fresh mini donuts with a wild variety of flavors. I opted for peach cobbler donuts. Read that again. PEACH COBBLER DONUTS. They were as delicious as you can imagine. Keep in mind, these are made to order so there is a wait unlike your standard donut shop. I was wondering who the heck could come up with such a genius concept and that's when the owner walked by with a large tray of donuts, visibly happy with his brand new brick-and-mortar shop as this business started off as a food truck. I knew this place would be a hit when I saw two women order literal buckets of the mini donuts. I paired my decadent donuts with a Blue Raspberry Lemonade. I think it could've used a bit more sugar as funny as that may sound. I'm glad Bridgeport and CT as a whole has a cool desert shop available like this because I anticipate coming back many times.

When you were growing up, was there a place you dreamed your parents would take you for a treat?…read moreWhen you got a little bit older and had a few bucks in your pocket, was there a shop you and your friends would bike to and buy a little slice or scoop of heaven? What about that perfect first date location in high school? Or the place your crew would meet up after you got off shift or after a game to replay the memories? Was there a place where a holiday season couldn't "officially begin" without a stop there to grab some coffee, a box of cider donuts, a Christmas tree, or just a place to sit and catch your breath? Plaskos is all of those places for all of those feels and all of those moments. The fare is top notch, and the staff is warm, familiar and welcoming. It's Americana. It's home. It's the last place you went the night before you left for college, and ordered a large S'mores ice cream with toppings, and drank in the summer sights and sounds in their yard on a picnic table, and the first place you went back to over Christmas vacation. There are lots of ice cream stores. But Plaskos is that one place that makes you feel like you just walked into your grandparents kitchen and they have all of your favorites waiting for you, and they are just as happy to see you as you are to see them. People don't just go to Plaskos because it's an ice cream store or cafe, even thought their home made ice cream and creative flavors taste like nothing you've had before, and their coffee makes you close your eyes and wonder where this has been all of your life. People go to Plaskos because it's tradition. It's who New Englanders are. It's Bean boots in the rain, leaning on a rake and talking over a fence to the neighbor on a fall day, or shoveling a driveway to help someone in need because it's the right thing to do. Plaskos isn't just ice cream or coffee. It's us.

Went to Edible Couture in Stratford, CT and first of all the atmosphere?! Let's get into it!!!…read moreAbsolutely gorgeous. Everything is pink, super aesthetic, very boutique bakery vibes with florals everywhere and it just feels really intentional and pretty the second you walk in. Staff was super sweet and welcoming too, which made the whole experience feel even better. Now onto the star of the show, the baked goods. The sweet potato pie cookie was SENSATIONAL. I need to go back ASAP and grab like 3 more because I'm still thinking about it. Perfect flavors and texture. Tested just like a sweet potato pie and the crust was impeccable. I was also told the strawberry shortcake cupcake is one of their most popular items and I can 100% see why. The whipped cream center was such a light fresh surprise and the whole cupcake really did taste like actual strawberry shortcake, not just "inspired by it." Overall it's a really cute, aesthetic bakery with standout desserts that actually live up to the hype. Already planning my next visit.

The actual bakery space continues to allow me with every visit, extremely clean, vibrant (Pink is such a happy color!), full of life, and you can tell the love that has been poured into every detail. Not to mention, right next-door their event space is fantastic and I have had the pleasure of taking part in a lovely intimate gathering there before. My most recent visit, I came in just to get the famous sweet potato cookies and was grateful that they were not sold out! While there, of course, I spotted the beautiful and delectable cupcakes in the pastry case; I simply could not resist and somehow ended up adding five of those to my order. Then a fellow customer came in excited about getting her hands on the jerk chicken biscuit. I said, "Wait, what is that?!"After she explained it to me, I told the owner that she might as well add one to my order as well because now I have to try it. From savory to sweet, everything was incredibly delicious and now I'm finding myself craving this jerk chicken biscuit, which comes with an amazing mango slaw. By the way, giving me one more reason to NEED to make this a regular spot on my commute home. The owner is a sweetheart, the staff is welcoming and helpful, and of course the baked goods and menu items are amazing! I have yet to be disappointed by anything -- and it's just the cherry on top to know I'm supporting a local small business. Go, Edible Couture!
