As the parent of an infant, I trusted this…read morefacility to provide safe, attentive care and follow the feeding and care instructions I provided. Unfortunately, my experience left me with serious concerns about feeding, supervision, communication, documentation, management, and ultimately my child's safety.
I repeatedly communicated that formula was my baby's primary source of nutrition and provided specific instructions for bottles approximately every 3 1/2-4 hours. There were instances when these instructions were not followed as expected, including a day when there was approximately a 5-hour gap between formula feedings. I also became concerned that purées were being given in place of regularly scheduled formula. Eventually, I asked the daycare to stop providing purées altogether because I wanted to ensure my baby received his formula while in their care.
Documentation through Procare was another ongoing concern. Entries were sometimes incomplete or unclear, and I repeatedly requested that the actual ounces consumed be documented. When caring for an infant who cannot tell a parent what happened during the day, accurate feeding and care records are extremely important.
Communication at pickup was also difficult. The teacher I normally needed to speak with left around 3:00 p.m., and there was a significant language barrier between me and the assistant who was often present later in the day. As a result, I sometimes could not get clear answers about my baby's day directly from the caregiver present.
I also personally witnessed situations in the infant room that concerned me. I observed babies crying without staff immediately responding, and on another occasion I observed an assistant focused on another task with her back turned to the babies. These observations made me question the level of attentiveness and supervision being provided.
I repeatedly brought concerns to the director. In my experience, I often received pleasant and reassuring responses during our conversations, but I did not see the consistent follow-through or meaningful changes I expected afterward. Eventually, repeated reassurances were no longer enough for me. When concerns involve an infant's feeding, supervision, or safety, follow-through and accountability matter.
Most concerning, my baby came home with an unexplained mark/scar on his arm. This occurred after I had already raised multiple concerns regarding his care. Finding an unexplained injury on my infant significantly affected my trust in the facility and ultimately contributed to my decision that I could no longer feel confident leaving him in their care.
I also had concerns about developmentally appropriate care, including adequate floor/tummy time and positioning rather than excessive time in restrictive equipment. I felt I had to repeatedly advocate for care instructions that should have been straightforward.
Based solely on my family's experience and what I personally observed, I cannot recommend this daycare for infant care. Parents should not have to repeatedly advocate for appropriate feeding, accurate documentation, responsive care, adequate supervision, clear communication, management follow-through, and their child's physical safety. When caring for babies who cannot speak for themselves, those things should be non-negotiable.
