Having been a regular at this place for years when in Florida, I have to say it has only gotten better with time. Previous management were somewhat difficult but I always came here regardless, because it attracts some amazing talent. From what I understand they are under new management again. Typically I come here for waxing and facials with an awesome aesthetician named Rosie. When you check in you get a key to a locker with a fabulous robe should you chose to use it. They also offer relaxing tea and such while you wait. They are currently even equipped with an MD for some facial needs should you desire. I've only been to the Viera location and I was impressed. The decor and ambience was as nice as I've experienced from high-end spas in larger metropolitan areas. I had a massage, facial and pedicure with a short wait between each one. I was left alone with a selection of tea, water, light snack, soothing music and serene images on a large TV screen. No one hovering or puttering around, which I find very distracting, so the 'alone time' was perfect. The ladies who did my treatements were personable and their demeanor was suitably low-key. They performed the treatments superbly. My only constructive criticism is to upgrade the front desk staff. They seemed somewhat disorganized (on a quiet Sunday morning) and weren't as welcoming as I'm used to. A minor blip as I left the spa feeilng very relaxed and pampered. read more

Since returning from COVID essentials has adopted some questionable practices. Upon returning to utilize my membership, which essentials controls all tracking of the data for, I was informed that they were taking away "services" from my account because in an "audit" they discovered I had used more than I was supposed to. When asked to provide proof of such things my request via in person, email and phone went unanswered. Do not sign up for the membership. If they true did let people use more services then they paid for then they should own that failure and not punish clients. It seems more like a scam to make up money for being closed for COVID. Also if you do go to this shady place make sure you tip in cash. I found out that they are taking huge percentages of the technicians tips if you tip on a card. This review has more to do with the poor management than the services. Not sure what's changed in the last 6-7 years but this place is going down hill quickly as evident by the constant turnover of quality technicians. read more

The locker rooms are huge and offer everything you can imagine from hair scrunchies to blow dryers. The steam room and sauna are clean and relaxing. The services are as wonderful as their website portrays them to be! Their prices are decent since I now live in Orlando and many of the spas over here are much more expensive and you do not get your monies worth like you do at Essentials! Curly girls! I have found a hidden secret in Viera! Taylor gave me the best cut I've had in Fl since I left Tampa! She took her time, evaluated my hair and then proceeded to discuss my desires and expectations. Taylor utilized the "carve and slice" method (professional designer created) and my hair returned to its natural curl and it now lies so nicely, tame and controlled. Every one was very nice and the services I received were relaxing (mani/pedi, massage). However, I think their relaxation room could use some work. The windows face the parking lot and the light that comes through sheer white curtains is neither relaxing or as private as one would expect. Also, the room is split by patterned curtains. The interior area has two couches and a snack station- which is convenient and accommodating when waiting but the outer area with chairs and chaise lounges that back into the windows face these curtains so you're just staring at these curtains while flanked by the light from the windows. If they switched the patterned curtains with the sheer ones it might ameliorate the issue making for a cozier feel. read more

I've been visiting this spa, when I'm in town visiting family, for many years. My last visit to the spa - for a massage and pedicure - was on 2/2/19. I had an outstanding experience. Essentials has done a great job at overhauling their front desk staff - warm, welcoming, and great customer service. The services both my mom and I received were excellent. The spa, lounge areas, saunas, etc. were all immaculate. The relaxation lounge was amazing - a nice stream of attentive spa professionals checking in, ensuring the beverage and snacks were replenished, asking if they could get us a glass of wine, and more. I came in with hands down the worst dye job I've ever received in my life. I'd gone to somebody a friend went to, paid, left in a rush and woke up the next morning to entire chunks of my head missing dye. I called essentials after extensive research and am so glad I did. They got in my ASAP with Lauren, who was not only amazing with my hair but easy to talk with, which is rare as I feel most salon chair convos tend to be awkward. She SAVED my hair, was incredibly patient with the process, and was just in general a joy to be around. After 4 years in FL I've FINALLY found a hair stylist I'll be sticking with. read more

I just want a haircut. I had been going to another salon in the area but the turnover there had proved ludicrous for me and I had to change stylists a myriad of times. I was trying to find consistency for what is a recurring common need. I called Essentials to make an appt and they required a credit card deposit. I didn't like that. Every visit they asked me to sign a waiver. I didn't like that. But for awhile I tolerated it because I was able to get a decent haircut consistently when I needed it. One day I get a text or call a few days before my scheduled appt that stated my next appt was canceled because suddenly my stylist was no longer there. I called the day of my original appt and asked if anyone else was available that day to cut my hair. The response I got was that no one else was available unfortunately. And then crickets. . . I thought they might say but we are grateful you are our customer and we are sorry that you have been inconvenienced. Lets us help you find another stylist from our salon to take over. Nope- I got nothing but there is no one else available today. Pretty damn lame way to treat a customer who gave you so much business. read more

I am very certain that all of the staff there is highly skilled and will do a great job, I just happened to be lucky enough to get scheduled with Julianna. I only visited the hair salon today (never left a salon feeling this amazing.... dead on what I wanted!) but I plan on returning to try the other services offered... I had contacted the salon to do my hair and makeup for my wedding. I didn't live in the area at the time so I went in for my trial many months in advance. My makeup was just average and the hair was pretty good for a trial. I paid for the trail and wedding day hair and makeup in advanced. I returned on my wedding day. The same women took care of me. She remembered me but couldn't remember how I wanted my hair or makeup. I decided I wanted more dramatic rather than natural makeup. She choose eye shadow colors without asking me. Dark gray is just did not look good on me and didn't fit our beach wedding. The worst thing was she used cream and within a few hours it was coming off and had left creases. Luckly my daughter is really good at doing makeup and she fix it. My hair was another story. When she was done she asked me how I liked it. I was disappointed. It was very messy. I had wanted tight curls. It was my wedding day so I let her know. She didn't want to redo the whole thing so she took down a few strands and tried to make it look a little better. It was ok but not great. My veil was going to cover my hair so I decided to let it be. I wish I hadn't pre-paid so that I could have found someone to come to me to do my hair and makeup. And hopefully it would have been better. read more

I went to this spa for several years for massages. I enjoyed most of the massage therapists over the years. Due to work schedule issues, I had to book a couple's massage nearly a month in advance. I received my confirmation email and thought everything was fine. My husband and I were really looking forward to these 80 minute massages. When I hadn't received a confirmation text/call by Memorial Day, I called early Tuesday to re-confirm myself. I was told that there was no appointment on the schedule for us. I explained that I had my email confirmation. They blamed it on new system but no offer to fix the situation for both of us. They offered to schedule 2 separate massages the next day with a discount on one of them. We couldn't make that day-that's why we booked over 3 weeks in advance. They didn't care or try to come up with another solution. We booked with Imperial Spa that same day and had a lovely couple's massage there. We won't go back to Essentials. They've lost 2 good customers. read more

We were members of ESSENTIALS MEDISPA in Viera for over a year. This membership allots 2 services per month and you are charged monthly to your credit card on file. Essentials began having computer changes early 2020. When they switched "systems" their membership credits on some of the customers' accounts were incorrect. I was told this information as I left my spa service mid-May. In order to find out the correct number of services, that are prepaid on the membership, remaining on your account, the MEMBERSHIP MANAGER must call you because she is working remotely during COVID. I asked to have the manager call me and was told she would do so within the week. (This was urgent because I have an upcoming appointment that I need to be sure I can attend) TWO WEEKS pass, no call. I call again and was told I would receive a call by end of day. TWO DAYS later, I am officially annoyed and write an email. (THAT EMAIL, TO THIS DAY, has not been returned!) I am fed up and call AGAIN! This time, I am told the woman who answers the phone is walking into the managers office and I will be called back ASAP. Hours go by before I am called back. By now it is 5:00pm (just 19 hours before my scheduled massage). The "MANAGER" (I use this term lightly because she was not helpful and kept telling me she was just relaying info-she didn't make any of these decisions) on the phone let me know that even though I purchased these services by using my membership, I am unable to use these credits on my membership account because they need to RECONCILE all of their accounts from the computer program switch. THIS IS NOT OKAY. I paid for services and have had this appointment scheduled for over a month. In this month time frame, I have been begging to have my account checked so I can utilize the services I ALREADY PAID FOR MONTHS AGO. They are holding my membership money hostage. From here I am being told I can pay out of pocket for the services and MAYBE be reimbursed after they are done checking the accounts. Because I already paid, I WILL NOT pay again. Mind you this company's customer service is awful. They make promises of calling back and don't, do not return emails, how should I trust them to refund me (AND HOW LONG WILL THAT TAKE!)??? They expect me to pay double for these services, this is how they treat MEMBERS who have been asking for help for over a month knowing there were upcoming services. SOO, at this point they have an issue they can't figure out, I suppose my friend and I will just have to cancel our massages... WRONG! This "MANAGER" on the phone, tells me I will be charged 50% of the service fee for canceling within the 24hours before the appointment. HOW is that okay?????? That is terrible customer relations. I have been trying to get ESSENTIALS to iron our THEIR problem with THEIR computers for a MONTH. They only call me back hours before my appointment, with no solution, and want to charge me if I refuse to DOUBLE pay for this service. NO WAY. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. They will take you money and ask for MORE. WORST customer service, whack managers, horrible membership treatment. read more

I was very disappointed with the service at this spa. Coming from a small town, I assumed the big town service would be stellar - no so. In fact, I felt like a number, not a customer. First of all, I would like to say the only reason they didn't get one star is due to their atmosphere -it is a very nice place to look at. And I had plenty of time to look at their waiting area, since they were 20 minutes late for my appointment. To make up for this, they cut my 1 hour appointment down to 45 minutes...and charged me full price. I didn't get the full service, which was advertised as a full pedicure with "much massage". I got a basic pedicure, and if there was supposed to be much massage, it wasn't on my feet or legs - only from the vibrating chair I was sitting in. The technicians had a visitor during our service, which made my sister very uncomfortable. There were still rough spots all over on my sister, and her polish starting chipping off within a week. I called afterward to express my concerns, and got the brush off from the receptionist. She said (and I'm not making this up) "If you got only 45 minutes instead of 1 hour, it's because some of our technicians are so fast." In my opinion, they were so fast because they skimped on the service. I then e-mailed the site, which indicated they would contact me back. Never heard a thing, and it's been well over a month now. Bottom line is that if this is the best Brevard has to offer, I feel sorry for Brevard. read more

I've tried every spa in the Melbourne area, and this is definitely the best one. I've had facials, microdermabrasion, dermasweep, massage and waxing at Essentials Spa. I've never tried their hair salon or nail services, so I can't vouch for those. The salon is very nice, clean & relaxing and the staff are very professional. You also don't usually have to wait weeks to get in for an appointment. I've been able to get in for same-day appointments on a few occasions. I don't normally write reviews, but I wanted to RAVE about the Brazilian wax with Rosie. I've been seeing her for about 6 months now. If you've waxed before, you know that the skill of the aesthetician makes a BIG difference in how much pain you experience and how quickly the hair grows back. She's good! Of course it still hurts; you're getting your hair pulled out of your nether-regions by the roots! But Rosie is very skilled, making it as painless as possible while still getting the hair out by the roots. They use hard wax at Essentials Spa, which is typical for bikini waxing at nicer places. The downside to hard wax is that it takes longer to get waxed. (If you're not familiar with hard wax, it has to cool off after being applied before it can be ripped; they don't use strips to pull it off. It's supposedly better for more sensitive regions such as the bikini zone.) Rosie waxes EVERYTHING and then flips you over at the end to wax the butt cleavage. You may not realize that you need or want this part of your body to be waxed, but it's actually painless and absolutely lovely to be totally "clean" back there. She also removes ingrown hairs & does extractions if needed. She's a bit of a perfectionist & gets everything nice and tidy. I've had Brazilians from a lot of different people and spas, and trust me when I tell you that hers is the most comprehensive service I've ever had. She's also nice, funny and does a good job at keeping me distracted. There was one day I had a different aesthetician (can't remember her name) when Rosie wasn't available, and she was very good, too. If you've never had a Brazilian before and you're feeling shy, I will say this: I think Rosie is more familiar with my girl bits than my Ob-Gyn or my husband. (My Ob has never drained an ingrown hair for me!) I am now 9+ months pregnant, with all the lovely side effects that comes with. I don't think that Rosie really cares that my girl parts are swollen or that I come in with the occasional hemorrhoid. I'm pretty sure she's seen it all. She seems more interested in getting all the hair out than in judging what my stuff looks like. One caveat: they just raised the price to $70 for the Brazilian, which is on the high end. I personally think they should charge less for maintenance waxes. I've also had skin services and massage done at Essentials. Both of those services are very good, but the true tiebreaker for me that keeps me going back to Essentials is their waxing service. Imperial Spa is nearby and I think their skin and massage services are comparable to Essentials. But I stopped going to Imperial because their aestheticians seemed to be afraid of actually waxing people. I don't want to have to reassure or coach my aesthetician when getting waxed, which is what I found myself doing every time I went to Imperial. Anyhoo, 5 stars to Essentials! I don't think you'll be disappointed. read more

My husband and I returned for deep tissue massages and facials. We really had a wonderfully relaxing few hours. The massages were great, the facials were nice, and this time I had some extra time to kill between services so I was able to make extra use of the lovely relaxation room and the steam room. I love how there are face cloths soaked in ice water outside the steam room and they also have essential oil sprays that you can use in the steam room or spray on the ice cold cloths to cool you down after you get out. This time, there was no rudeness at the front desk, so I'm upgrading to five stars! We will be back next visit to Florida! read more

We have generally been to spas while in az at some of the best resorts and this easily is in the same category or better! Great massages, wonderful staff and amenities. It is the small stuff that makes it extra special. Food and snacks, drinks etc.. Like wine, beer, champagnes. You cannot go wrong. read more

I am really disappointed in the customer service I received today. I was forced to reschedule an appointment due to a sick child. The next day my child (who I thought was on the mend) actually took a turn for the worst. I called before opening to let them know I wouldn't be able to make it. The young lady called me back and informed me that if I wanted to make an appointment in the future I would have to leave a credit card because I violated their 24 hour cancellation. I get charging those who are no shows and I understand that they lose business at last minute cancellations.....but there are times that last minute cancellations are unavoidable. It's part of running a business. So Essential, you will not be getting my credit card for future appointments because you just lost my business. read more

I like Essentials but I will never go back, because they won't let me. No, I wasn't banned, I didn't miss or arrive late for an appointment. I can't go back because I refuse to let them keep my credit card on file. They will not let you make an appointment without a card on file. Coming from Chicago, I feel like the prices are reasonable for the quality of services I've received so far. I am incredibly impressed by their customer service, and every staff member I have met so far is incredibly knowledgeable and super friendly. I have had 2 pedicures by Michelle who is phenomenal. 2 Brazilians and laser hair removal by Christine-she makes it very comfortable and as pain free as possible.
