Sorry, Ba Le, no disrespect. There are actually more Banh Mi and Num Pang places in Lowell than in Dorchester, some were equally as good, when they used Chau's bread. (If you want a work of art, try Le Petit Cafe.) Chau Bakery deserves a hall of fame in Boston food, I'm serious. Chau's bread is a dream, huge Nerf footballs with the perfect crust, it will never get better than this, you just know when you see it, smell it, touch it and finally eat it. A second lady behind the counter took my $5 and gave me my change. My order was handed to me in a bag complete with a couple of napkins. Turns out the beef was cool as well, so that's something that New Saigon in Chinatown offers that tops Chau - that and the toasted bread.
