When confronted for their extremely over oiled lanes, oiled to the point where it was physically impossible to get any spin on the ball, the staff stated that the lanes were so oily because they where just oiled today. This is not an excuse. Lanes being freshly oiled should not be this slippery. The balls were so gross that they could not even be held. Multiple people in our group and on the lanes around us dropped the balls on their approach even when held perfectly. DONT COME HERE!

We got the 2 hr of activities/1 game of bowling wristband. It was well worth it. This place is very fun! We played a game of bowling, drove the go karts, played a round of mini golf, and played some arcade games. We also both got a cheeseburger and fries, soda, and I got a beer. I will review each activity below. Electric Go karts: This was by far both of our favorite attraction. It's so much fun to fly around the track, and that fact that it's completely indoors makes it even better. Mini Golf: This Mini golf course is small, a bit cramped, and doesn't have the fun effects that other courses have. However, I love the blacklight effect and the circus theme is VERY cute. That being said, both the paint and the carpet could use a slight touch up. I wouldn't pay for the Mini golf separately, but if you have the wristband it's worth one play. Bowling: the lanes were cool (they had a blacklight effect as well) and while we didn't do that well, both my husband and I had fun bowling again. As far as the food goes, we both agreed that the cheeseburgers were actually really good. I had a bottled Budweiser, but they also had a few tap selections as well. They have a TON of awesome arcade games as well. We played the basketball games, skeeball, the electronic bowling game and many more. They also have several activities we didn't try: The "Ninja" obstacle course, the bumper cars, and a trampoline like jumping attraction. If you are a parent looking for a cool place to host a birthday party, they have a decent sized private party room as well. Overall, I give Strikes and Spares 10/10. We both recommend it and are considering coming back on future date nights.

They're one of the few places in Fort Wayne that have laser tag, Nerf war, virtual reality games. It definitely is not cheap, but they have a lot more to offer than Chuck E. Cheese and is geared toward older kids. I'm happy to say that the management made it right last time because kids in our party we're being harassed by older kids on their own team as they were shooting them in the head with the Nerf gun. I find that this is unacceptable and if I would've known, I definitely would've spoken with the parents. My son raised his voice and told the game master who didn't do anything about it. I spoke with the manager later and he told me that he would speak with his staff and also gave us some game points to make up for the trouble. I hope they continue to enforce the rules because part of the reason people come to these places is they have fun not to get into conflict with people and their delinquent behavior.

I recently wheeled across Indiana on a fundraiser. As I was wheeling the Pumpkinvine Nature Trail…read morein Elkhart County, I learned about Mooey's Ice Cream. Mooey's is an Amish-owned, seasonal ice cream that offers friendly people (including the owner), a unique and beautiful setting (including farm animals you can pet), an outdoor area where you can sit (there is no indoor dining as everything is walk-up or drive-up), and delicious ice cream that is generously served. Quite honestly, I loved this place and I think the entire crew considered it one of our better fun stops. It's actually about 1/2 block off the Pumpkinvine. You do have to go up a long driveway that is mostly crushed gravel - a bit challenging in a wheelchair. Parking is in a gravel parking lot. You can drive up to their rather simple storefront. I was a little concerned as I had a film crew with me at the time (and the Amish shy way from photos), however, they were friendly about it and the owner even came out and introduced himself. I think he may have been impressed that I handled his gravel driveway in my wheelchair. There's lots of ice cream flavors and some food options. I only had ice cream - and a medium M&M ice cream option that was ginormous. Whereas it seems like most places scrimp these days, this was rather generous in my opinion. At the side of the building, there's a farm animal area that was delightful - goats, a pig, and a donkey you couldn't help but love. There was even some food there so you could feed them. It was awesome. My entire crew had been craving ice cream - one place we'd wanted to go was closed, however, Mooey's was open and really lived up to the effort it took to get to them. One of my favorite things about the Pumpkinvine is the presence of the area's Amish (on bicycles - buggies and horses not allowed). This was just sort of an exclamation point on how much I love the Pumpkinvine. This was an absolutely delightful stop and I'll for sure head back when I'm in the area. As a note, however, they are seasonal. For example, this year they are closing for the season on September 28th. However, this is for sure a place to stop when they are in season. For obvious reasons, they don't have a website. There's a port-o-let on the grounds, as well. Business was steady throughout our stop and it was clear that those who love Mooey's are dedicated to it. I can't wait to go back.

There were lots of farm animals in our viewpoint. One of my favorite animals was present for a nose rub and a squeeze (photo too), a burro. We had a variety of ice cream representing three different creameries: Kemps, Yoder's and Guernsey Farms. The flavors that we had were chocolate peanut butter, southern butter pecan, moose tracks, triple peanut butter, mint chocolate chip and butter pecan. All were enjoyed.
