Stopped in last minute for a pedicure, and this might just become my new spot for nails! Walked in without an appointment and was greeted and sat right away after picking out my color. Everything is super clean, and the esthetician took her time with my nails and made sure I was happy with the color before finishing. They offer many different levels of pedicures, and of course, manicures as well. I waited to visit Essence two times before reviewing - especially considering my first experience. I always get dip and a pedicure when I do my nails and my visits to Essence were no exception. I made an appointment both times and did not have to wait at all. There are a ton of colors to choose from so try to have a color in mind so you do not get overwhelmed, like me. I got the citrus pedicure both times and it is lovely. I love all the scrubs and the massages. Both times my toe nail polish was applied pretty sloppily with the top coat not covering the entire nail, but from far away (like the normal distance) you cannot really tell. The pedicures are long and luxurious - I likely will never try the standard pedicure here. The citrus one is such a great value in my opinion, notwithstanding the polish issues. One of the things I love the most is that I can sit in the pedicure chair and get my hands done at the same time. It really cuts the time in the salon significantly which I appreciate greatly. The first time I got my hands done the dip was not applied close to the cuticle line so it looked like they were already grown out before I left. It was also much more thick than I am used to. The owner checked on me and I expressed my concerns. She took great care of me and invited me back for a do-over. When I returned a few weeks later for my second visit, Hanna did my dip and she did such an amazing job. Such a great thickness and it was applied right where it should be near the cuticle line. Admittedly I am a bit picky with my hands - yet Hanna blew me away! I am looking forward to returning to her next time. The owner is really sweet, and cares about everyone's experience. She apologized profusely for my nails the first visit and checked on me several times during my second. We just purchased a house in Woodstock and I could not be more bummed about the distance I will be to this gem. I am debating making the drive still so Hanna can work her magic and I can get my citrus pedicures. Please, please try out Essence if you are searching for a new nail place. I read reviews and decided to give this place a try. I made an appointment since I wanted to get designs on my nails. They were able to get me in when I was hoping to get in. Everyone was super nice. The salon was clean and everything appeared to be sanitized. I got acrylic tips with SNS dip and gel design. I've never had acrylic tips before but I love how they turned out. I have been to Essence twice now - both times for pedicures. On my first visit, I got a sport pedicure. This last visit, I indulged in a luxury pedicure. Both were a treat, but the all-out luxury is fantastic - I live for the exfoliating and leg massage. The luxury pedicure was certainly worth the extra cost! Not to mention the chairs - they actually work and they work wonderfully - leg massage AND back massage? Yes, please! My first pedicure lasted through at least a month's worth of days in the sand, many long runs and hard workouts. I almost wish it chipped faster or my toenails grew quicker so that I could go more often! I had a go-to place before moving to this area and was sad to leave it behind. I'm a fan. Came here desperate for a manicure on my lunch hour and found this place in a shopping plaza. Warmly greeted and the manicurist did a really good job. She was very meticulous. My polish lasted 2 weeks without chipping and this was normal polish. When I returned a couple weeks later, the owner actually remembered my name. How is this possible?! I was impressed. The salon offers the typical services of most nail salons but they also have different refreshments including water and soda and also snacks too if you're hungry. The tubs have tub liners! Major plus for hygienic reasons. And another perk? They take AMEX! So all in all I was impressed and have decided to come here as often as I can for my mani/pedis. Paid 50.00 for a basic manicure and spa pedicure which were both awful. Arrived at 4 and the place was packed. I had scheduled a pedicure and asked for an add on manicure. Think they just pulled someone over who never did one before. I've never had to ask for someone to fix 2 nails anywhere else, but these were totally messed up. Someone else fixed them ( no base or top coat added). Pedicure also was worst ever. massage felt like wet noodles and you need to pay extra to have your heals done ( news to me).
