Darbi…read moreprepared plans for the front yard that needed adjustments and for the back yard that was totally bare. She made use of plants we already had by moving them to new locations. We added low maintenance, low water usage native species. And some rocks, which help "ground" the plants. I am looking now through my window at the back yard where plants are blooming! All through the project, Darbi provided information and pictures. She asked us many questions and listened to us. Her goal was to provide us with a landscape that we would love, but that also makes sense for the desert environment. Darbi works with a contracted named Jeff. It was our choice to use him or not. We did. He and his workers did a fantastic job cleaning up the property, putting in irrigation, and planting. Darbi worked with him closely, overseeing all aspects of the work. They worked non-stop, and our yard was transformed within a week. (The planning stage took longer).

We hired Alex to draft plans for a building permit for a casita ten months ago. During the entire…read moretime we felt like we were pulling teeth to get him to do anything. After much pushing and inquiries along the way, he submitted two draft plans to City of Tucson (one of which was for sleeping quarters, which we had not requested). Both were rejected. He received full payment for these plans months ago. After many delays and failure to communicate with us, we finally gave up and told him we no longer needed or desired his services. A few hours later he finally sent over updated plans with responses to questions the City Planner had requested, along with a request to pay for a change of address for not only the casita, but also the main house, which has been standing since 1965 and has a fully functional address. The new address (units 1 and 2) made this property sound like a duplex. After much frustration, delay and nothing to show for our money, we are moving on to someone who hopefully can do the job competently, keep us informed without us having to chase him/her down and most importantly, know what the City is looking for in terms of permit plans. Sadly, Alex could do none of this for us.
