We contacted Chris to inquire of him creating a memorial for us in honor of our son who died while riding his electric scooter in Tucson. He took my rough drawing and created a piece of art we will pilgrimage to at least once a year. The detail and quality of his work was far greater than how much he charged us, he even brought it to the site and "installed" it for us. Some time back now, I visited Tucson and met Chris Nast, got to visit his shop and see him work, as well as see some of his residential installations around Tucson. A lamp-in-progress caught my eye then, and I put "first dibs" on it. Once he finished it later, he shipped it out to me and it replaced a mundane, mass-produced hanging lamp in my living room. I love living with and using hand-crafted things in my home, and I have a special fondness for wrought / forged ironwork. Chris has the skills to draw on traditional wrought iron forging techniques, but also a contemporary design eye to create something fresh and unique.
