    Sea Green Painting

A couple weeks ago we noticed that part of our chimney had cracked and fallen off (see first…read morephoto). Oct 20: contacted a half dozen contractors. A few hours later Sea Green emailed me saying they would like to bid on the job. Oct 23: Maritza and Jose arrive onsite and inspect the damage. Nov 1: bid received, we approved to proceed Nov 6: work completed Nov 9: invoice received Nov 10: cut check for payment As you can see from the After picture below, Jose did a great job patching up the masonry. They would have repainted for $25 more, but we didn't have the paint formula handy, we can do that ourselves at our convenience. Sea Green Painting as the name suggests does a lot of paint work, but can also fix the stuff that lies beneath the paint: drywall, masonry, etc. You may not see the same quick turnaround we did, depending on the nature of the job and how busy their craftsmen are. We were extremely pleased with the speed and quality of the work. This is our first time using Yelp to find a contractor in Tucson, and I obviously was pleased with how well it worked out.

Our HOA hired Sea Green to repair masonry and paint the exteriors of 82 homes, 2 community…read morebuildings, and some freestanding walls. We were impressed with the quality of the work and the friendliness and helpfulness of the workers. Our CC&Rs have slightly complicated rules about what parts of the exterior are the responsibility of the HOA and what are the responsibility of the homeowners. At the start, only a few homeowners asked Sea Green to paint the areas that are the owner's responsibility. But the quality of the work was apparent immediately and there is no better advertisement than seeing a good company at work. After seeing the first few houses and hearing the praise that the first few homeowners had for the workers, most of the rest hired Sea Green to do the extra work. Of course, you don't tackle 82 home without some complaints. I was the HOA member tasked with being the liaison with Sea Green and I got to see at close hand Maritza handle the problems that came up. She was attentive, courteous, patient, and very good at resolving problems to the complainer's satisfaction. In the end, it is the workers on site that make a difference. I give full praise to them, in particular Jose, Gilbert, and Mino. Their work was impeccable, their attitude was a pleasure, and they went out of their way to be helpful to our 55-and-older community. They have a lot of friends here. Bottom line: I give Sea Green Painting my highest recommendation.

Thank you, Abeyta Painting! These guys are the best around. High quality people and real craftsmen…read morewho care. They have done many projects at our home - from large scale exterior painting to interior rooms. Most recently we called after some heavy rains revealed a roof leak. They were out quickly, took care of immediately stopping the problem and then put together a repair plan. They took care of the damage and repaired the roof and interior - repainting to match. It looked like they were never there AND better at the same time! Highly recommend Abeyta Painting. Appreciate the service and detail-oriented work.

Customer Service: Absolute pleasure to work with! From the initial conversation, coming to terms,…read moreand the actual completion of the work. Everyone on their team was very professional and pleasant. The Work: I was blown away... they have it down to a science! They were patching stucco and cleaning up the fascia on Day 1. They were able to get started with painting Day 2. Days 3 and 4 included painting all of the trim... that really tedious work that is tough to stomach :). I'd say it was 5 to 6 days with two team members. Price: Very fair! We probably paid a tiny bit more than we would have with another provider but to be fair... I didn't go looking for anyone else... I really liked the owner and wanted to do business with them. We've seen them around the neighborhood a TON and the feedback was always extremely positive. Excited for this new look for our home!

Goodwin & Sons Painting - Wood post with filled in cracks

BAM! Hire these guys and you won't regret it. If you are a Raytheon PM or Engineer, hire these guys…read moresince you'll love them -- high quality work. If I still worked at Raytheon, I'd be telling all my coworkers. You can probably find people for less money but you'll pay more in the long run for the substandard job. Often times by paying less, you pay more (in the long run). So cheap people, like me, always go for quality that looks awesome and lasts a long time -- often paying a little bit more upfront. Case-in-point. When we had our addition built in 2014, the contractor's painter Jose (does not work for Goodwin & Sons) extensively watered down the paint and took every shortcut known to man. When I questioned if he was doing two coats, he said yes, then proceeded to just spray the same area twice. OMG! Well that paint job indeed "colored" the stucco, but we needed to repaint in four years but probably should have done it sooner. So this is what inexpensive painters do and how you may pay more in the long run. I mention one of my prior experiences since Goodwin & Sons was different. It was obvious right from the start. I hired them for my parent's house to repair the parapets and for exterior painting. Ernesto was the lead for our job and Justin (the owner) helped on the second day. Work completed March 5, 2026. 1. Detailed Bid: Everything was itemized and made sense. The price was reasonable. 2. Warranty: Ours was five years, but maybe this period was due to the high-end paint we selected? 3. THICK Paint Coating: Justin said he used 60 gallons of paint on my parent's 1,800 ft2 house. I believe him since they sprayed, sprayed, and sprayed the same spot. They immediately used a roller thereafter to ensure a smooth look. I even questioned Justin if he watered down the paint because of how much paint was being applied -- the answer was of course no they never water down the paint. For reference, I'm pretty sure Jose (does not work for Goodwin & Sons) from our 2014 addition used about 30 gallons on my 3,500 ft2 home. 4. Detail Work: Everything was masked. Windows/doors were caulked. Lines were clean. Not a speck of paint where it wasn't supposed to be. 5. Thorough clean up: Self-explanatory. They even picked up some concrete and stucco from when the house was built. So the place was cleaner than when they started! 6. Easygoing and Very Respectful: It was soooo refreshing to like the owners and workers. Everyone was so nice and easygoing. I felt so bad asking Ernesto to fix something he missed and he was actually consoling me, saying it was totally fine, and he appreciated me pointing it out. Wow, how many times does that happen with a home contractor? First time for me! 7. Follow Up: Justin and Ernesto said that if there is anything I find later, they will be happy to fix it...I believe them. And I do not think I'll find anything wrong. 8. Painting Wood: They filled and painted the wood. Their process is great with great results. The wood columns had some good cracks since the prior owners did not maintain them for about 8 years, but they all look awesome now. The results were spectacular and I cannot be more happy. The pictures speak for themselves. I did not pick angles to make things look good...everything was just good. My house is next and Goodwin & Sons will be the ones doing it.
