Espresso House is a Swedish coffee chain with locations all over northern Europe. This location is down the street from Gammeltorv (Old Market), the oldest square in Copenhagen, and along the Strøget (one of Europe's longest shopping streets).
My parents got a house brew, I got the Iced Tea Lemon Nice they were advertising, and we sat outside to enjoy the view, our drinks, the free wifi, and the chance to use the restrooms. Said restrooms are upstairs in the VERY nice second floor area that is my IDEAL of a coffee shop to write in (lots of lighting, lots of room, nooks and crannies, and just PRETTY). I also like this Espresso House for the sole reason that it got my parents to FINALLY learn and understand what I mean about taking a moment during our vacations to sit down along a street somewhere with a drink, watch the foot traffic, and RELAX.
Truthfully, I don't drink coffee. We were just thirsty, tired, and I liked the look of the "Iced Tea Lemon Nice" they were advertising. We'd been rushing from one spot to another and were ready to take a break and, as far as I'm concerned, this is basically a much nicer Starbucks. I'm not as into it and can't really judge this coffee shop for its coffee, but my parents like their drink and I found it comfortable inside out.
All in all, it's a very good place to sit down, take a break, and enjoy the fact you're in Europe. You can really set up camp here with all your bags (this is a shopping area after all, or if you're a backpacker...) and I think it's a clean, alright place with all the utilities (seats, room, drinks, and restroom) for the average traveler/tourist to recharge at. read more
