They do return the overcharged amount after settling with the insurance company a month later. Of course, there's no interest added for holding onto my money during that time. And now I have the added hassle of filling out a form to put that money back into my HSA account. I visited all kinds of doctors since I had an HSA and this is the only place that returns money to you after charging you too much. Why can't they take care of the payments like all other medical offices?

The care given was fine. The problem was with the front office. I will say up front I should have…read morebeen more thorough in my homework on whether they were in-network, but I relied on my dentist's recommendation. I'm used to working with providers who get pre-approval, and who bill your insurance. That is not how this office works. I needed a biopsy, which they made me pay up front and said they would submit to insurance and reimburse me when they got paid. They use a third party service and submitted the claim using paper forms. Apparently it went first my dental insurance, then to my medical. They ended up calling about 60% of the charge beyond reasonable and customary. They reimbursed 40%, which they applied to my deductible. So I expect to get no check back from the provider. This process has taken nearly five months so far. The front office has been fairly responsive, but so far all the information on progress I've had to get from my insurance company myself. It was nearly $1,000 so not pocket change. But hey, good news it wasn't cancer.

Only…read morebummer was my insurance didn't cover the panoramic X-ray so it was $180 for a photo of my teeth :/ this was because I had gotten different X-rays from my dentist the week before. Dr Lin was an extremely empathic and personable dentist who knows what he's doing. My teeth are a bit weird and I have a few baby teeth. So it's difficult to have a plan on what to do. Dr Lin gave me all the options he could, including one where I didn't get my teeth removed. (Which is a great sign he's not in it for the money). But in the end we decided it was best to remove 3 teeth. He prescribed antibiotics for the day before to prevent any preventable complications. Surgery day, they were amazing and made me feel very comfortable. Even gave me a blanket! And 3 different types of anestesia (bc I hate needles). I also requested to keep my teeth and they packaged it in a sterilized bag! I made sure to ice well the first day. And to be honest, I barely had any swelling on the 2nd and 3rd day. I also had very little to no pain. I was starting to eating solid crunchy foods by day 3. Dr Lin was a very gentle and skilled oral surgeon. So the next thing I did was go through my insurance delta dental ppo and look for oral surgeons in my network and after 6+ calls to places who didn't have availability until mid December or January....that wasn't going to work, especially after three days of no sleep because of the pain. I'm so so lucky that Dr. Cho had availability and was able to do this just under local anesthetic because I have MCR1 mutated gene (Red hair) and red hair and anesthesia don't mix well and I really didn't want to be loopy. Got in, twenty minutes prep and five minutes later after Novocaine, my tooth was out and instantly was feeling worlds better. It was within my network, so one tooth extraction was covered at 80% and even after prescriptions the whole thing was $87. That's great compared to my first wisdom tooth removal being $379. The staff was really nice and fun, someone must really like K-pop because that was mostly on the playlist while I was there. All the receptionist were very sweet and post op check up was quick and easy! I'm still a recovering but it's only been a week but feel a million times better and happy I can sleep now. Dr. Streelman is honestly the kindest, calmest and most talented oral surgeon I've ever met. He has this peaceful confidence about him that just makes you relax and trust you're in good hands and his hands are guided and skilled. He works with so much grace and focus but still has this quiet joy that shows he really cares. When he pulled my tooth it was unbelievably quick -- like finished in seconds. It was totally painless and somehow even comforting! Time went by way too fast! You can tell he puts his whole heart into what he does. Truly a 5 Star experience!!…read more As a patient with stage 3 kidney disease, I felt like this practice really took care of me and personalized my care.  Dr. Banda spoke with me at length before (for close to 40 minutes!) the actual surgery date and actually talked about my conditions and even talked about fluid management and my kidneys!  My nephrologist doesn't even go into that much detail!   I truly felt like I was in really safe hands maybe because he is both a physician and a dentist and the procedure went really smoothly.  I was put to sleep with an IV and a tooth was removed and a bone graft was placed to rebuild that part of the jaw, and I don't remember a thing!  The recovery was basically painless and he even called me after to check on me.  The staff was really straightforward and gave me all my fees in the beginning.  Yes, this practice is probably expensive but absolutely worth every penny when it came to my health.  Be assured that you will get a board certified surgeon that really really cares about his patients. So first when I called in, the most amazing woman, Melinda, answered the phone and after I explained my problem she said: "get in here let's have a look" - I said "now?" - she said of course! I was shocked that I would get in so fast - but they understood this WAS an emergency and empathized with my situation (the day before 4ht of July!). When I went in everyone was SO lovely - Dr Trimble himself was fantastic - he said I had not one but two screws that went AWOL (as per the x-ray they took) and I now need to go back to get the second one out. But the one he took out that day was as easy as two threads left in the screw and Jennifer - his assistant was wonderful. What I loved about this practice is that the PEOPLE were amazing - I was there for the first time and was made to feel as though I was a valued patient for years. They also wouldn't bill both my insurances. Turns out DeltaDental paid some of it so I had been billed almost $300 more. I had to call & get reimbursed. They only sent me part of amount so I had to call again! Then I had to submit another claim to Humana Dental when I found out they covered the extraction. The check for $436.77 incorrectly sent to Seattle Oral & not Mr since I paid for procedure out of pocket. Seattle Oral cashed check, never notifying me. Now I'm trying to get in touch with whoever handles this, after sending email, voice-mail, speaking with reception. I was told I'd hear back this morning & haven't yet. They've now kept my money 3x! I wonder how much money they've kept from other people​​
