Ekam Yoga & Pilates - Yoga Room

Ekam Yoga & Pilates

Ekam Yoga & Pilates is such a vibrant studio, through and through. From diverse offerings such as…read morereformer Pilates, mat Pilates, stand up paddleboard (SUP) pilates, vinyasa yoga, stand up paddleboard (SUP) yoga, and probably even more, they've got you covered! They even host workshops in collaboration with big athleisure/fitness apparel brands where you get both a class, a full fitness outfit to wear during the session, and some goodies included for a set price. I haven't personally had a chance to join for one of those yet simply because the dates haven't worked out for me to be able to attend, but I've been monitoring their events calendar and really excited about the prospect of attending one in the future. This is such an insanely good deal because for the price of what's basically the class on its own, you're getting a top, sports bra, and either shorts/leggings that you'd normally have to pay so much more for otherwise. Some of their on-site amenities include a hot tea and water refill station, non-gendered restrooms, showers, locker rooms, warm towels, and I'm sure other perks I haven't even discovered yet. For the tea selections they have available, it's actually much more than the samples they have on display. There's a bunch ranging from no caffeine, low caffeine, and regular caffeine options. Just ask one of the girlies up front to let you know what they have in stock! There are also honey sticks as well. For kombucha on tap, it's $8.00 per glass bottle, I believe. As for their classes, I've only ever taken two and they were both reformer Pilates classes with Miss Paris Blauw! I might be biased since she's the only instructor I've booked with so far, but honestly??? 10/10 experience, no notes! I appreciated having Paris as an instructor because she's very quick to (privately) address my incorrect form, get me back on the right track when I'm severely off base, and keep me safe by preventing injuries. For a selectively shy individual who's equal parts accident-prone and anxious about asking questions in group settings, these are all reassuring indicators that tell me I've picked an amazing instructor. I've also been wanting to try out one of their vinyasa yoga classes and SUP yoga/Pilates sessions for the longest time, but I can't justify the existing bundles/membership tiers when I'm driving pretty far for the pilates classes I'm already taking. It'd be amazing if their studio had a promotional offer for folks to try out a session of a new modality for free, but I don't think this is currently offered unfortunately. Maybe it could be something for them to consider, as I'm sure it would bring in additional cross-selling business to have pilates princesses be open to trying their hand at the yogi lifestyle and vice versa! Their studio location that borders Costa Mesa/Newport Beach is admittedly a bit far from where I'm based out of, but maybe one day they'll open another location in North OC (ideally closer to Garden Grove/Anaheim). In conclusion, the experience at Ekam is truly unparalleled and you won't get this at other yoga and Pilates studios. I hope that everyone gets a chance take a reformer Pilates class with Paris in their lifetime on this spinning rock! :-)

I had difficulty in the poses and she gave me easier options so I didn't feel left out. I'd say the one hour class went by quick. I realize that yoga isn't for me at the end so decided to try Pilates instead. Pilates with Paris was doable. I told her I was new and she took the time before class to explain all the cords and hooks on the reformer. Plus during the class she came by several times to help me with my form. Great teacher. And very patient. I like this studio a lot. There's restrooms and changing areas. Also lockers for you to store your valuables. Plus the mini fridge of eucalyptus towels was a nice way to cool off. Like how they have clothes, accessories, and Pilates socks with grip at. The bottom for sale.

I feel like Triad does not even need my review since they already have a perfect five star rating…read moreHOWEVER I would be a terrible person if I did not use every opportunity to support their business and tell people that triad is a wonderful place to practice. I did buy several Groupon's and tried other studios before ending up at Triad. I even have free lunchtime yoga at my work but still I pay to go to Triad because Alex's Thursday night class is wonderful. Alex really focuses on making the practice your own. She spends the first hour guiding you through a range of difficulty levels and you can choose to work really hard or take it easy if you are not feeling well or a beginner. The last 30 minutes is typically more restorative and often includes a very short reading at the end that is beautiful and meaningful. She is also very caring for her students and helpful with adjustments that are right for your body. I love that every practice is so unique there with lots of interesting moves I haven't done any other studios. The studio itself is wonderful. It's small which is nice because it's quiet and intimate plus they have plenty of props and equipment. The studio is always very clean and they have an air purifier and fresh plants in the room which helps I think with making sure that people don't spread germs during flu season. Parking is never an issue. I've never attended yoga with any of the other instructors but I've also done Pilates there and really enjoyed it. Namaste!

Not sure about the classes or the instructors, but be advised that the online signup form on the website signs you up for livestream yoga only, not in person. Should have paid closer attention to the confirmation I received, which provides a link! Guys, I'm not sure why people would want to pay $26/session for a zoom yoga class. I might as well just watch a free YouTube! Apparently the in person studio is/was going to be closed, according to my son who mistakenly went there in person. Thank you for making us all aware of this on your website! A little sneaky...

She even gave me some tips as to good equipment for yoga that would help me to have better results. The class I took was at the crack of dawn (for me) so I was a bit sleepy and still waking up. Nicole was so sweet and made me feel so welcomed! The class definitely woke my body and muscles up. It was a great class and time to wake me up for the day! The heat was nice and not too hot (104 degrees). I don't think I have ever sweat so much in my life lol The class was great, so many great poses and stretches that helped wake up, strengthen, and condition my muscles. Everyone in the class was so cool too. It was such a welcoming and communal vibe. A chill and personal community. The studio itself was warm and intimate. It had all of the tools needed for a great class. It has lots of parking, which is super nice!

The Vinyasa Flow class with Patricia was great, and both the Core Pilates Flow and Yoga Sculpt classes were challenging and well paced.Unfortunately, our positive experience was completely ruined by the owner, Georgia, and her highly deceptive sales tactics. On our last trial day, Georgia gave us a sales pitch before class about a promotion: 50% off the first month if we committed to a two-month membership. As we listened, we nodded along out of politeness. She showed us the app, explained how to book classes, and noted she already had our cards on file from the trial. We nodded, but we never gave verbal or written consent to actually purchase or commit to the membership right then. We took our class, packed up our things, and she politely said goodbye. Because of how aggressive the pitch felt, I got suspicious and I downloaded the app to check our accounts to find that she had already enrolled us in the unlimited membership and charged BOTH of our cards on file without our permission. It looks like she signed us up for the membership before we began class from the confirmation email she sent and in the pdf it claims an electronic signature when we NEVER checked a box or gave an electronic signature for membership. When I called the studio to refund, they thankfully issued a refund, but using a customer's card on file to force a membership transaction and FORGING my electronic signature is completely illegal and unethical. I honestly did really enjoy the classes but my experience today left a terrible impression and I will not be coming back. If you do the trial here, be incredibly careful with your card on file. Georgia may sign you up and charge you for a recurring membership without your consent

The studio is always clean and immaculate, and the shower facilities are a huge bonus--you can rinse off after class instead of completely trashing your car! The teachers are attentive, hands-on instructors who genuinely care about proper form. They offer helpful adjustments and corrections so you can practice safely and get the most out of every pose. Radiant is also one of the hotter studios, which is exactly why I love it. By the end of class, I feel completely spent, deeply relaxed, and ready for the best sleep. The entire experience feels almost spiritual, healing, and incredibly cleansing. Radiant is not a social club, and I mean that as a compliment. Talking before class is discouraged, and students cannot casually enter and leave whenever they please. The protocols are stricter than at some studios, but those boundaries protect the peaceful, sacred feeling of the space and allow everyone to be fully present. Part of me wants to gatekeep Radiant so fewer people book and I can always get my favorite spot--but more people deserve to experience the healing this place provides. I practically race over to claim my spot because I never want to miss class. At other studios, I might feel ambivalent about being late, but Radiant is the one place I genuinely cannot wait to get to.
