Let's be real - I hate doing laundry. But, as adults...we must do this task. When I moved to New York City for a year, I learned a very important thing. No one really has their own washer/dryers, but there is a laundromat on every corner. Then I moved to London, and I learned something else. Dryers do not exist in people's homes here. Oh, the humanity. Crunchy towels and laundry strewn all about my house drying for days on end? NO THANK YOU. I do not have the patience. So I sought out alternative resources. And I found it. Eskimo Laundry! On Yelp! I started using Eskimo Laundry about 10 months ago shortly after I wrestled with the drying situation a few times, and I've never looked back. They pick up at my home on Mondays (laundry AND drycleaning), and drop all back off by Wednesday or Thursday of the same week. Easy facts: There is a 20 GBP minimum per pickup. They also do dry cleaning. They pick up at your home at a designated day/time window. The staff is very easy to work with, and very nice and professional. Every few months I get a bill and pay via CC on the phone with the owner. My only bit of constructive feedback is that the folding is a bit haphazard and I do end up redoing a fair amount of it. I've been spoiled by my favorite Korean lady in the world (Brooklyn) who somehow managed to fold 2 huge bags of laundry into the pile the size of a notebook. Magical. I like crisp clean lines and square corners...except fitted sheets, those are the worst. Forever. It may seem like a luxury to some, but to me -- I will happily save elsewhere and dish out 20+ GBP to have fresh, clean, DRY laundry arriving on my doorstep. So, moving to London has certain drawbacks. One of which is that most flats are equipped with a small washing machine, which sometimes doubles as a dryer. Ours does not. So, having clean clothes means perpetually manoeuvring around drying racks and dealing with crunchy trousers. Eskimo has fixed this. Each Thursday, Christian comes before work and picks up our clothes. He drops them back off on Friday. They're clean, dry, and folded. Our shirts are hanging and pressed. And it's all for about £20/week for two of us. Every few weeks, I call and pay for what we've used. William is incredibly responsive over email, which is easiest for me while I work, and has even been incredibly gracious on the few times I embarrassingly left town without notifying Eskimo. When we moved from Islington to North London, Eskimo was there the next week without missing a beat. We're incredibly grateful to have solved our laundry quandaries in such a lovely way. read more

Not wanting to pay the exorbitant hotel laundry prices I found this place. A short Uber ride from the hotel and had same day pick up. Laundry was done well with no issues. It's a no frills place but for just your basic laundry I have no complaints at all. And the prices and service were very reasonable. Highly recommended for locals or visitors. read more

I left a jacket from my work uniform in to this establishment on the 7/4/2011 and was told it would be ready the following day after 5:30 pm,I couldn't make it down to collect it that evening but did go down to collect the jacket on the sat afternoon which was now 2 full days later,the item was still not in the shop ready for collection but was promised by staff that it would be delivered to my home (which is 3 mins from the laundry) at the close of business. It is now 7:45 pm and still no jacket, I rang the "business" and it is closed for the day.......This was my first time to try eskimo laundry.....and it will be the last. read more

This place is convenient, inexpensive, and above all the service is fast and great. Would definitely recommend it. We needed a large load of wet laundry dried and it took about 30 minutes and cost only £2! The two workers were very friendly and they have a nice little waiting area in the back. read more

As this was our first time here, I was I bit hesitant to enter, as it wasn't such a big shop. As soon as we opened the front door the two young chaps welcomed us in and made us feel that we were accepted. We did our own washing and drying and the guys helped us when ever needed. As we were sitting waiting, a lady removed her clothes from the washer, placed them into the dryer, then left. One of the guys checked the washer and found a sock, he then put it into her dryer. I left a brand new cardigan for a dry cleaning and 2 days later when i went to collect it, one of the bottoms was missing.I just realised when I got home. I went back to the shop just asking for them to fix it and the manager said he couldn't fix. Then he gave me 2 options, buy a new one and bring the receipt or fix the cardigan myself and bring the receipt. I went to 4 different H&M shops and i couldn't find the cardigan, tried to fix in 3 different shops and they couldn't fix because they didn't have the bottom.I called the manager again to discuss about it and he said it was not his problem and i could get any other cardigan.Really?????Very bad customer service. sometimes it's not worth to go for the cheapest place.
