Tease me, twirl me, and just SHAG ME!!! Yes I've started a…read morenew love affair and Shag has gotten me all hot in the head. Well hair. This posh lil spot is absolutely dynamite. Parking is available to the side of the building and back, few spots in the front but I believe those are for expecting mothers. They offer a bevvie at the door, and smiles galore. Ever had long hour hair appointments where you find yourself staring into void space and dozing off? Shag is upbeat, the atmosphere is sleek with lots of eye candy, art on the walls and good beats. Magazines galore and WIFI to boot! There's also a communal table in the center of the work area which is great for socializing, and not having to be confined to your chair. I love it! More importantly is the craft that's going on in this busy hive. I have dark hard-to-dye hair, and if you have dark hair, you'll know where I'm coming from. Keeping a lighter shade of hair is an absolute nightmare, having to lift the roots and then color, and then match up the two over laps. I came in to have my roots colored, and expecting to have over dyed ends AGAIN, I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't need the rest of my hair dyed. Karissa is a master of her craft, and checked on me very frequently just to get the color right. I haven't gotten a cut yet, but that'll be my anticipated visit. The color set me back $60 and came with conditioning and style - just right as I was heading out that night. Reasonable, and moreso because I was so delighted with how well it turned out. Definately making this my go to salon, and recommending this place. You shag, I shag, we all should shag!

I wasn't sure what we could do since my hair was bleach blonde dyed black on the roots, but Kelsey went above and beyond and got my blonde back in one session. Granted, I have nothing to compare it to, but I did bring with me a seasoned "spa pro", and she also said CaVaBien was fantastic. Very classy spa, with a fireplace and cozy seating. The changeroom was very clean, warm, and the sauna is a nice touch. I loved the smell of the products that were used on my face, and that's rare cuz I hate most scented stuff. I came out of there feeling refreshed and looking at least 5 years younger! P.S. - since I can only leave one review for each place, a quick shout-out to the girls who have done my hair over the years at CaVaBien! Best salon in town!

I was surprised when I found this place. Thinking about its location and exterior, I would imagine it to be a somewhat low-quality salon. But, thinking like that, I would be wrong. This place is actually quite eye-catching on the inside and very welcoming. They have a clean environment to work in, which provides me with comfort. The staff are definitely among the nicest stylists I've met. They can tolerate children in their chairs, which is more than I can say for other places. They have a way of talking to anyone and making them feel very welcome and at home. Since it is classified as a 'family' salon, the prices are actually cheaper than other places. I don't feel like I'm blowing my whole paycheque on a hairdo, which is definitely a nice thing. Riverpark Beauty, here I come!

The first while I had a lot of issues and ended up actually driving to Edm every few months - to see family - as well as get my hair cut. Very friendly people, comfortable and cozy. It was like waking into a beauty salon where everyone knew me - yet it was my first time. I walked out feeling the best I had in a long time. DO NOT GO HERE! Don't waste your money!…read more Well I would like to begin with if I could give no starts that's what I would give. I went there to get a trim and nails done. So I have to admit I was 15 minutes late for my appointment which is understandable but they could've just rebooked me if it was gonna be such a big deal and after I got my nails done I got trim and a little bit of bangs. Well I called back because one of my nails had already broken off and I explained to them that I didn't feel comfortable seeing the same girl but the receptionist jake kept pushing and pushing and making me feel more uncomfortable until the point where I wanted to speak with a manager. The manager I spoke with was very nice and assured me if I came back to get my nail fixed everything would be ok and no judgment. But boy was she wrong. The lady that did my nails was so rude I waved to her and said hi and she just looked at me and walked in the place. And not to mention so rough because I explained to the manager the reason it took 2 1/2 hours to do my nails was because she didn't use the drill and just used a nail file. Well I can see why she didn't use a drill because she chopped my fingers up trying to fix her job she did the first time. And than she started to shame me because when I waved to her I was having a smoke and said well you can't have your nails white because you smoke and they will turn yellow right away. Just an all together horrible experience there. And the guy who cut my hair I felt like he was judging me because I had just had my nails done and my makeup was done and he said "oh where are you going to a big party?" And I asked for a trim to try and get all my ends not looking so fried. And not a straight across cut and as I was explaining to him he just brushed me off like ya ya I know what you are talking about. But clearly he didn't and not to mention my bangs he fucked them up doesn't even look like bangs. I will never be going back here and will advise everybody I know not to go to this place just because of the disrespect that I was given by the employees there and not to mention after I went back and got the nail fixed the exact same one broke in the exact same spot horrible. Oh ya and she didn't take the extra gel that was under my nails as well

The reviews speak highly and from long time clients, I made the appointment. I met Sam for my hair cut, I asked for a fox cut...he said do you mean a wolf cut? lol! Thank goodness he has a sense of humor, with a handsome, friendly smile that put me at ease. I am 57, lovin' my greys and whites, but wanted to try something easy to style, hip enough to keep it long and fun - a change! Sam was quick, super efficient and confident cutting the style I wanted. He was on schedule, no wait time, I felt confident that I would love the cut, and I do. Thank you so much Sam. :) Be seeing you again soon. PS. He also taught me how to get rid of my front cowlick using a drying technique. Super impressed, will defiantly be returning again. - New to Calgary 2026
