Fortunately there wasn't any electric fire or shorts at the house's electric panel. My brother put out a bid on Yelp to find a capable electrician who could replace it at a reasonable cost and we decided on taking a shot with J Powers Electric. They showed up at the time of the appointment which is a big plus in my book and they gave me an estimated time of completion barring any unforeseen complications. The current outlet was replaced with a brand new GFCI outlet with an in use weather cover and everything went smoothly and quickly.
