While my parents introduced me to a family friend who was a real estate agent, I had no idea how to go about finding a loan officer! After digging through Yelp/Google, I stumbled upon Meridox Mortgage that had stellar reviews and took a chance. I called Meridox and was put in touch with Trung Tran. I let him know that I didn't have any knowledge of how the house-buying process works, but he was incredibly supportive and assured me he would walk me through every step. Shortly after we finished talking on the phone, he sent me a list of items to provide for the pre-approval letter. Trung's turnaround was quick. I sent him my information in the evening and got the letter the next morning. My real estate agent used this letter to draft the offer...it was accepted! After my offer was accepted, the rest of the process was somewhat nebulous, but my real estate agent worked closely with Trung to help me through. Trung was with me every step of the way. He patiently explained how my monthly mortgage payment and closing costs were calculated and even helped me negotiate a home insurance offer. He even kept a close eye on the market and advised me when I should lock in the rate. I thought home buying would be more stressful, but it wasn't as bad as I thought because Trung made every step clear and was very on top of deadlines. From pre-approval to loan closing, it took just one month! Thank you Trung for being so diligent and patient in helping me secure my dream home! Trung was also very proactive in reaching out to me a few months later when interest rates dropped by about 1%. I had the honor of working with Trung again for my refinance, and it was also efficient and painless! I recommended Trung to my coworker recently when she was looking to buy a condo. I wanted an advisor who can give me an honest opinion as to pricing, knows the neighborhoods, and can negotiate with the seller's agent. Linh was so on top of things. She understood that I was busy and scheduled multiple showings for me on weekends. She mapped out our route, so we can be efficient with time. She never asked me to consider any property that was outside my price range or not what I was looking for. I was able to knock out many home viewings with her, and we put in a couple of offers. The initial officer I had was Melanie and she was very sweet, but she could not get to my application within the first two weeks for a pre-approval and I understood that with the shutdown, things were much different. So I decided to follow through with another officer, yet I was still interested in working with this company because of the reviews. I began working with Yolanda in the beginning on June. However, I would not get any updates from her in days. So I would call or email her and those would be the only times I would find out information. For example, She needed to get verification from my employer and she let me know this on 5/18 and that she would return to the office on 5/24 and would get back to me then. She received my verification on 5/24. I left an email on 5/26 regarding the verification. I called and left a voicemail on 5/29 after no response. Later that day, she emailed and let me know that she would check my credit and update me the next day. I did not hear from her at all. When I attempted to email her today 7/3, about my credit check I got an automated message that she would be out of the office for a week and I was not made aware of that by her or her manager. I decided that it was no longer in my interest to work with them because I was told my Yolanda the pre-approval process should take about 4 days yet extended to 4 weeks. I did not feel like a priority nor did I feel like my application was of any importance. I cannot put my finger on as to why, but I truly hope that no one else experiences a situation like this when they are trying to buy their first home. It is already nerve wracking trying to buy your first home, but when your loan officer does not feel like they need to communicate with you or update you, its extremely frustrating. I attempted to call Nancy to cancel my application, but I could only leave a voicemail. I did not get a call back. I emailed her later in the day, letting her know that I no longer wanted to proceed and I got an email within 5 minutes letting me know that my application would be cancelled. I find it funny that they would take days when I attempted to work with them, but it only took minutes to a response about cancelling.

I was selling another property and just wasn't comfortable with the escrow company being suggested, especially after seeing their reviews on Yelp and Google. I was ready to fall back on one of the three escrow companies I have previously used, but was also surprised to find that their recent reviews were no longer impressing me, so I searched for a new escrow company and came across Lighthouse. There were lots of excellent real customer reviews, and they had a legitimate webpage that estimated my fees, a list of people working there with their bios, and the company felt very professional compared to the others. I was impressed that not only did somebody answer the phone, but they were also able to answer all my questions. After a few phone calls with Lighthouse, I requested them to be the new escrow company and the realtor and buyer both agreed. I can say without any doubts that my experiences with Danylle Hallahan at Lighthouse Escrow and her team were outstanding and exceeded anything I've experienced through several other escrow companies I've used. All the fees were clearly laid out before me, and there were no hidden fees. The best part was their communication. They immediately sent me a timetable informing me of when specific things in this process are supposed to happen along with their contacts incase I had any questions. Everybody was kept in the loop during the entire process, and if I had any questions, Danylle always answered her phone or got back to me shortly with answers.
